Mailable Monday # 68

Can you believe it? Here we are on the last day of June.

This month has just flown by.

Today's card features Just Saying stamp set and matching framelits.

I used white for the base card then added Moonlight designer paper.

Two narrow strips of Blackberry Bliss makes the card look like

a package.

I'm hoping starting next week July 7th I'll have my Christmas

in July week ready to post.

VC Rocks June Blog Hop

Welcome to the June VC Rocks Blog Hop, called

Rock your Creativity

This one features the Big Shot, and Punches.

For my first project I used one of the Pinwheels that

came in June's Paper Pumpkin and put it

on top of a hamburger box. I made the box using

the new Hamburger Die from SU.

Inside view of the hamburger box. I was looking for Little Debbie

snack cakes that they make for the 4th of July called Stars and Stripes, but

I couldn't find them in any of the local places I searched.

Keeping with that Patriotic theme I made this birthday card.

It uses Beautiful Bunch stamp set and matching punch.

Colors: Real Red and Night of Navy. The background under

the flowers is a stamp from Summer Silhouettes with Sahara Sand ink.

Greeting from Perfect Pennants.

My last project is this cute little red wagon. Isn't it just darling?

I used the Top Note die with Real Red cardstock.

The greeting is from Pictogram Punches.

This was inked with VersaMark and embossed with white powder on the front

of the wagon.

Side view. You want to make your own wagon? Here are some directions and measurements.

To make the box for the inside wagon. Cut

the cardstock 6 1/4 x 3.

Score the long side at 1 inch and score again at 5 1/4 inch.

Turn the cardstock and along the short edge score at 1 inch and 2 inch.

Using the picture above as a guide make a notch at the score lines along the

long cardstock sides. The notch will let the box fold up better.

Apply sticky strip to the flaps and fold up to form the box.

The wheels are made with 1 3/8, 1 inch, and 1/2 circle punches.

For the handle I first punched a circle from black cardstock using 1 1/4 circle punch

I then took the 1 3/8 circle punch and slid it over the punched out negative space and punched again.

Hope this helps you to make a wagon, and I hope you have enjoyed

the Blog Hop. To see the rest of the June Hop great projects please visit

Work of Art Shabby Chic Flower

Maybe instead of Shabby Chic I should be calling

this Grungy Flower.

I was in a shabby mood yesterday so my artwork

reflected that.

Colors used: Mossy Meadow, Hello Honey, and Lost Lagoon.

For the layer I used Shimmery White cardstock. Base card Lost Lagoon.

Not much going on here. I'm enjoying the warm weather, and

the on and off again thunder storms. We did have some rain

yesterday morning but it cleared out by the afternoon.

Skip went over and visited his mom. He also took all the old

screen from the windows that were taken out to the metal place.

He had to cut the screen out of the them but the recycle center took the frames.

Went to a few garage sales but didn't find anything that we couldn't live

without. But hey what is Summer without going to a few garage sales?

Beautiful Bunch with Summer Silhouetes

Very late post today.

Today's card features Beautiful Bunch, and Summer Silhouettes stamp sets.

Colors: Real Red, Baked Brown Sugar, and Pistachio Pudding.

We had some excited Monday night which I forgot to share with you on

yesterday's post.

The was a tornado touchdown here in Brunswick. It was

a few miles from us, but happened pretty close to where my

son John was working that evening.

They classified it as a F1 which has winds of 110 miles an hour.

There was one family that lost there garage and another that lost

most of there top floor. Thank goodness no one was hurt.

We have tornado sirens in the city but they didn't go off.

It was one of those things they just couldn't predict.

Take a Tip Tuesday #19

Happy Tuesday!

Today's tip is getting the look of movement without having

anything really moving.

I used Work of Heart stamp set for the card

And the word celebrate from June's Paper Pumpkin kit.

To get the stripes in a waving motion I took the stamp and bowed it

slightly as I put it on the clear block. Because I don't use

the stickers that come with the stamp sets to attach to the

stamp it allows the rubber and foam to be molded.

Same for the word celebrate. This is a polymer stamp. What I

love about these type of stamps is they stick to the clear blocks. I

mean they really stick. No worry about them falling off. They are

also very flexible so they can be bent while placing on the clear blocks.

Hope you enjoy today's tip!

Age Awareness Banner Birthday Card

Late posting today. I didn't make it down to the studio yesterday

as my knees were not cooperating.

This morning I made this card using the Banner framelits,

and All Abloom designer paper pack.

Greeting from Age Awareness stamp set. (its been sitting on my desk

all week....maybe I should get it off my desk so I can used a different

stamp set!)

Not planning to do much today. Still reading my book....I'm

pacing myself as I know I'll have to wait a few years for the next

one to come out. Really don't like waiting for books, but the author takes

about 3 + years to complete each one.

Age Awareness with Balloon Card

Another Birthday card using Age Awareness stamp set.

I used Strawberry Slush, and Baked Brown Sugar to make

the card. Also used Gorgeous Grunge across the bottom of the

base card.

Speaking of "Age Awareness" I'd like to wish my

friend Kat a very Happy Birthday!

I know she is getting ice cream, then dinner (in that order)

to celebrate.

Hope you have a wonderful day Kat you deserve it.

And lets just not think about getting older:)

just got called Age Awareness.

Hearts and Star Mask Gift Bag

Just a quick little star gift bag today.

The white bag is just a flat candy bag.

I use the new Hearts and Stars Decorative Masks from the new SU catalog.

The little flag was made using Work of Art stamp set.

The blue stars were made with the same mask as the bag.

The word stamp, and silver clip is from the this months Paper

Pumpkin kit.

Well we are still hot and humid. Plus we had thunder storms late last night with

lots of rain.

More of the same for today. I may not get anything posted tomorrow as

I receive a new book yesterday, so I think I'll be reading.

Little Letters Thinlits Hi Card

I decided it was time to play with the Little Letters thinlits dies.

These are cute little 3/4 inch letter dies.

You can either use the negative space like I did on this

card or you can use just the letters.

I also used Flower Shop stamp set, border, and boho blossom punch, Hello Honey

ribbon, and moonlight designer paper pack.

I think I'm going to be using these thinlits a lot.

Today was our first 90 degree day of the year. Suppose to be

that high tomorrow as well. I'm not complaining. I love this weather as

its perfect to be in the lower level of the house playing with my "toys"

Cherokee also decided to take a cat nap in my stamping studio yesterday afternoon.

I'm always happy to have her around.

Take a Tip Tuesday #18

I was casing a card on page 111 of the new

StampinUp catalog and wanted to share

how I used the Banners Framelits Dies to make the card base.

Sorry for the blurry photo. I didn't see that the photo was

like that till I loaded it to the blog.

Cut the cardstock 3 1/4 x 11. Then score

at 5 1/2. Fold the cardstock in half at the score line.

Using the largest framelit from the Banners set place the

cutting mat on the magnetic board, next place the folded cardstock.

Place the framelit cutting side down over the cardstock with the flat part

of the banner just a little bit above the score line. Add the second cutting mat over

the framelit then run through the Big Shot. By doing this the framelit will

not cut through the top, and you will have a little banner card to decorate.

I used Banner Banner stamp set and the matching banner punch.

Mailable Monday # 66

Happy Monday to all.

Using another new set called Pictogram Punches.

Even though the flowers are folded up a bit to

give them some dimension they will flatten out

when the card goes into an envelope so this

is a great mailable card.

Designer paper Moonlight.

Color Palette: Lost Lagoon, Hello Honey, Blackberry Bliss, Pear Pizzazz.

Birthday greeting is from Blooming with Kindness.

By the Tide Card and Tin

I put this set together yesterday afternoon.

Base card Lost Lagoon (my new favorite color)

Layer white with coral stamp inked with Baked Brown Sugar.

 2 1/2 and 2 inch circle punches.

Burlap ribbon.

By the Tide stamp set.

The little round tin is just something I had

in my "alter" drawer.

I thought John might need a Father's card and gift for his dad.

I don't have to worry about Sarah as she is always prepared. Must be

a girl thing!

We went to the drive in last night. Saw How to train your Dragon 2

it was a great fun movie, and we had perfect drive in weather.

Today Sarah is stopping by. We are going to have a little cookout.

Since its Father's day I guess that means I'm grilling.

Chevron Gift Bag

I folded down part of the gift bag and adhered it with mono adhesive.

Used the scallop border punch across the top of the bag. I also added

I piece of Coastal Cabana cardstock that was stamped, and punched.

This was added to give the bag some support.

To the gift bag I added a stamped notepad, chocolate bar that was covered with

designer paper, and a ink pen that sports a burlap ribbon pocket.

Other things used, Crushed Curry chevron ribbon, itty bitty accent punch pack,

Tap, tap, tap stamp set, and Typeset designer paper.

Cheer Up Buttercup Card

Well lets see....I used lots of new stamping toys on today's card.

New In Line Colors, Lost Lagoon, and Mossy Meadow.

New designer paper pack, All Abloom.

New punch 2 " circle. I'm so happy to have another

circle punch. Plus another new punch that is part of the

Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack. This was used on the center of the flower that is from

the Flower Shop stamp set.

New Blendabilities, Daffodil Delight, and the Color Lifter.

And new trim, Venetian Crochet Trim.

Greeting from Geometrical. I think this is the first time I've used this

stamp set. It came out in a mini catalog, but made it into the new 2014/2015 large

catalog.

Hope you enjoyed the card as I had fun making it.

Wishing everyone very good luck today (seeing how its Friday the 13th)

Marker Box

I made a quick and simple box yesterday afternoon to

hold my in line color markers. I got tired of pulling

them out of the plastic box they came in. This

way I can have all the current markers in one box on my desk.

While I was cleaning out my rolling storage drawers Cherokee

decided to take the opportunity to clime into one of them.

You can just see behind her some of my new clear mount stamps.

I love the "M" in the center of her forehead. You can really see

it clearly now that she is a little bigger.

My fun little girl!

Beautiful Bunch Card

I've been playing with some new stamping toys!

I used the large polka dot embossing folder for the layer.

Beautiful Bunch stamp set with matching fun flower punch.

For the leaves I used the large oval punch with Old Olive cardstock,

then used the fringe scissors around the edges. The center of each

oval was also scored to give them some pop.

Itty Bitty Banners used for the greeting.

Flower was punched with Crushed Curry that was stamped with

Early Espresso ink.

I just love new stuff!

Take a Tip Tuesday # 17

I just got an order from the new catalog and I was having trouble

lining up the Beautiful Bunch flower with the matching Fun flower punch.

So today I'm going to show you how to mark the flowers so they line up with the punch.

First take a piece of cardstock and slide the punch all the way up as far as it

will go and punch.

Slide the punched cardstock out and flip it over on your work station.

We are doing this because the punch will have a reverse image.

Write top on the top, and bottom on the bottom.

Next place the flower stamp on a clear block.

Now place the punched cardstock on top and rotate it until the flower

petals fit perfectly inside the punched image.

Carefully lift the stamp at the bottom and mark it with an

ink pen along the edge and a little on the underside of the stamp.

Now when you line up the stamp on the block you will

be able to see the bottom mark. After the stamp is inked simply

stamp it on the cardstock so the mark is at the bottom. Then punch.

Hope this makes sense. Or is it as clear as mud?

Happy Birthday to my sister Charolette who turns 60 today.

Since she would hurt me if I posted a recent photo of her I'm posting one of her

childhood birthday party photos. I'm not sure how old she was in this, but I'm guessing 5 or 6.

Mailable Monday # 65

Happy Monday!

I used Lost Lagoon cardstock for the base.

Layer is whisper white stamped with World Map.

I inked the stamp with Soft Sky.

Ship from Traveler set. It was inked with

Basic Gray.

Decorative Dots embossing folder on the base card.

And just for a pop of color I added a loop of

Stitched Hello Honey ribbon.

I left off any greeting. I'll be adding this to

my blank card collection. That way I can

add a greeting later.

Small Emossing Folder Box

I made the large embossing folder holder some time ago.

I needed one to hold the narrow embossing folders as the

large holder was getting full and it needed some space to

hold the new folders I have coming in on Monday.

I used retired watercolor wonder designer paper, and

Smokey Slate card stock for both boxes.

They look pretty nice sitting together on my desk.

Card Armoire

Birthday gift I made for my friend Kat.

I'm posting this a bit early, but since Kat has

received her birthday box and has seen it I thought I'd

go ahead and share it now.

The Card Armoire holds 3 1/2 x 5 note cards

While the front of the Armoire sports faux doors the

lids comes off at the top to put the cards.
There is a drawer at the bottom that pulls out so small
things can be stored.

Dress Up framelits used to create the cards.

This isn't my design. It was

created by Brenda Quitana. I'm not able to

share the directions as this was a pattern that I purchased from her.

Emboss Resist

I should have waiting and posted this card for Mailable Monday,

but here I am posting it today.

So clean and simple.

Stamp sets, Serene Silhouettes, Wetlands, and Summer Silhouettes.

I added some score lines at the top and used an embossing folder below

the design.

I masked off a two inch spot on the card and did the first stamp

with VersaMark then embossed with clear embossing powder.

Next I sponged using Mossy Meadow, and Lost Lagoon over

the entire 2 inch section.

The goose was stamped last using Tuxedo Black ink.

It was so nice here yesterday. No humidity, and got up to 68 degrees.

Ahhhhh, so nice!

Swallowtail meets Blendabilities

Back with another blendabilitie card. I just

can't stop myself! I think I've reverted back to being a

child with a coloring book!

I stamped the swallowtail with tuxedo black ink on whisper white

cardstock.

I masked most of the base card as I just wanted to highlight

a small portion of the butterfly.

I colored it with Coastal Cabana, Daffodil Delight, and Pumpkin Pie

blendabilities.

Greeting is from Blooming with kindness, and I also used

Gorgeous Grunge with Coastal Cabana ink for filler on the blank cardstock spaces.

I thought it still needed some interest so I used my simply scored tool and

added three lines at the bottom of the butterfly.

I also raided my charm box and found a little silver butterfly to attach to the

linen thread that I placed under the greeting.

Bloom with Hope Skin Tone Markers

I decided the other day that my skin tone blendabilities were not receiving enough

love from me.

I colored the large bloom from Bloom with Hope using

the bronze, natural, and nude blendabilities.

The layer is vanilla but I did use whisper white to stamp

the flower with tuxedo black memento ink before coloring.

Completed panel was layered on Marina Mist, then the base card

Crumb Cake.

I added Crumb Cake seam binding and just a little strip of crochet lace.

Take a Tip Tuesday # 16

Look what else the new SU Blendabilites can color.

I brushed on the color with larger tip onto

Designer Vintage Faceted buttons.

How cool!

I used the darker Coastal Cabana, and the darker Rich Razzleberry.

So I placed my first order yesterday afternoon for the new catalog.

Please don't ask how much!

But I'll have plenty of new things to play with and keep me busy!

I was happy to find out that there is still a holiday carry over list so

my Christmas in July week may not be as hard as I thought as I

will have a few stamps to work with.

Okay back to the card.

Base card is Blackberry Bliss. Hello Honey layer was embossed

with decorative dots folder.

Stamp set Timeless Talk. I added Hello Honey stitched satin ribbon.
