Peacock Wedding Card, Tea Party Junk Journal Cover

 My daughter's best friend Melinda got married three weeks

ago. This is the wedding card I made for the happy couple. 

Melinda likes peacocks so this was perfect. I tried 

to match her beautiful teal color that she used for the wedding. 

Inside view. I used an embossing folder for the layer on 

the card front and used the same folder on teal card stock to 

connect the inside card with the outside. 

We are still working on the living room part of the remodel. 

Almost all of the subflooring is in place. Next comes the wood flooring. 

Hubby put up the other vertical blind on the window in the kitchen yesterday. 

Looks so good. I'll share photos when it is finished. 

I've been busy planning the tea party for my birthday. 

I started a junk journal yesterday, so I can do all the planning, 

and have the guests add to the journal pages while they are here.

Anniversary Card from Connie

Thanks to Connie for sending me, and hubby this lovely

anniversary card. Great job Connie! 

I haven't had much time to create this week. 

Been busy with the remodel, and still working 

on decorations for the upcoming Youth Appreciation event

for the Optimist club. I haven't even had

a chance to play with the new toys I bought on Sunday at the craft show. 

Taking a break today, and will be doing some stamping with Betty. 

I just don't think I'll be settled till my new room is finished, and I'm all 

moved in. The entire house is a mess. Don't know why it is when you 

work on one room of the house the rest of the house is a mess too!

Sunflowers made with Punches

This is a an anniversary I card I made for 

Sarah and Jason. 

Since they decorated their wedding with sunflowers

I send them a sunflower card each year. Can't believe they

have been married two years now. Time flies! 

The sunflowers were made using punches. 

Scallop 1 1/4 circle punch, and 1/2 inch circle used to make the sunflowers. 

After the brown and yellow pieces were layered together the

edges were sponged with brown. I used scissors to cut at each

scallop down to the center to form the petals. White gel pen used 

to make the dots in the flower centers.

Sunflower Anniversary Card

My daughter and son in law's 1st year wedding anniversary is

coming up on the 12th. Since there

theme was fall and sunflowers I decided to make 

this card to capture that wonderful time. 

I used a Sizzix sunflower thinlit to create the sunflower. 

I just did several layers and sponged the edges with Chocolate

Chip ink. The designer paper is also SU, not sure from 

which pack but I know its retired. 

The flower is layered on a white panel that was embossed 

with the lattice square folder. 

I love how it turned out, and I hope she loves it too. 

Not sure where the summer went, but here it is September already. 

I got an early birthday present when Kat was here. 

Isn't this ring beautiful? Even better in person. I just 

love, love, love the elephants! 

The elephants go all the way around the band.

Anniversary Perfect Cup Card

I used Perfect Blend stamp set to make

Anniversary cards. The greeting 

"perfect blend" came from a stamp set that my friend

Marianne sent me. (thanks Marianne!)

Designer paper is retire Beau Chateau.

 

Base card Soft Suede. I also used basic black, and Soft Suede ink.

 

Added a strip of burlap ribbon at the bottom. 

 

I had to dig out a retired punch. It is from SU and I think the name

 

of the punch was folk art punch. I ran the heart through 

 

the lattice square folder.

You can just barely see the Hello Doily background stamp inked with Crumb Cake on this card. 

Flower from Just Believe inked with Basic Gray. Congratulations inked with Rose Red. 

Inside card reads "on another year of happy togetherness"

Added a crumb cake seam binding ribbon, butterflies, and pearls to finish off the card. 

 

The school year just flew by. My nieces last day is this Friday the 7th. I won't be watching them during the summer. I will have them for two weeks just to take and pick up from there summer camps.

Anniversary Card

I have some anniversaries sneaking up on me so I needed to come up with a card.

For this one I used two jumbo silver eyelets and set them on the card using the Crop-a-dile.

Then I ran some baker twine through the holes and tied the ends on the inside of the card. 

Next I added a rhinestone brad in the center of each eyelet. 

The towels are made with 4" doilies that I folded into thirds. 

Little heart in the center of the towels is a new in line color Strawberry Slush. 

So the brad backs wouldn't show on the inside card I added a 4x5 1/4 piece of cardstock over them. 

And to my friend Marianne sending hugs and prayers your way. Thinking about you!

My Anniversay Gifts Arrived!

Had a great anniversary! My order came today that hubby placed for me. 

Thanks darling! 

Love all the new In Line colors. Had to have all the ink colors and the cardstock! 

The new Smoky Slate color is so pretty. Its lighter than Basic Gray, and just a tad bit darker than Going Gray (retired color)

This card was made with a new set called Wildflower Meadow. It also has a matching embossing folder.
Color pallet: Crumb Cake, Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay, Wild Wasabi, and white

 

 This stamp is actually the size of a background stamp but I only used a small part of the stamp. Click on the image and you should be able to see how the embossing folder outlines the stamp image.

I'll be going to the doctor's office later this afternoon. Going to get the second gel shot in the right knee, and a cortisone shot in the left knee. Hoping I'll be feeling better!

Happy Anniversary to....

To me and hubby Skip. We have been married for 31 years. 

Happy Anniversary also to my friends Lisa and Geoff who are also celebrating there anniversary today.

Happy Anniversary to Hubby and Me

Today is our 30th wedding anniversary. You would think that we would have something very special planned for that, but we don't. We went to dinner on Saturday, but no plans for today. Skip has to work second shift. Sarah and Jason were going to come over to celebrate with us on Sunday, but they are having problems with getting the house and had to go and talk to Jason's father about it. I did want to share some great anniversary cards that we've been receiving from friends. Above card from Lisa.

 I also want to wish Lisa and Geoff a very Happy Anniversary as there's is today also. Wishing you a very happy day with many more anniversaries to come Lisa!

Very Victorian Card

Yesterday morning I made this very vintage Victorian card. Started with base cardstock Wisteria Wonder, then added layer of Pink Pirouette, and Basic Black. Stamp sets used: Forever Young, Ting Tags, Doily Background, and Delicate Doilies. Vintage ribbon completed the card. Large oval punch for the black layer, and the smallest oval from the ovals die also used. Hubby and I have an anniversary coming up so I'm thinking about giving him this one, but maybe not. Still thinking about it.


 Cold and rainy yesterday. I cleaned some more. Finished up day 6 of my meds. Still have 9 more days to go, but today my dose will be one pill less. They are doing wonders for me! Have had no knee pain, and my energy level is through the roof! Haven't been sleeping well only getting about 5 hours a night. I told my friend that when the pill are ended that I'm going to crash and burn. Her words of wisdom? Make sure I have a soft place to land. Thanks Marianne!

29 Years Ago Today....

I said "I do" ,and thankfully my hubby did too! Doesn't seem like its been that long ago. Since next year will be our 30th I think we need to plan something special.

I'd like to thank Lisa and Kathy for the wonderful Anniversary cards. The cats are from Lisa. Just love how their tails are intertwined. How adorable!!!



And Kat the flower and layout on this card are just beautiful. Great coloring on the flower.

I'd also like to say Happy Anniversary to Lisa and Geoff. Their anniversary is on the same day as mine.

I got up in the wee hours of the morning yesterday to watch Prince William and Katherine get married. Wonderful wedding, and her dress was gorgeous! What a fairy tail wedding. Only one thing wrong with it....They should have waited another day then we all could have shared the same day for our anniversary.
