Spooky

Used several different things to create this "spooky" card. Stamp sets: Jack of all Trades, Wicked Cool, and Serene Silhouettes. The fence is made with shipping tags that were embossed with web embossing folder then sponged with Early Espresso ink. The base card is cream. Circle from a post it note masked the moon. Sponged ink colors So Saffron, and Night of Navy. I came in after removing the mask and sponged a little ink over the moon and stamped the bats.

I did 45 on the treadmill and sweated all the way. Been really hot. Even though I'm working out in the morning its still hot in the garage as it hasn't been cooling off during the night. My shoulder is still killing me. Started hurting on Monday and is not getting any better.

I got commissioned to make 30 baby shower favors. Need to complete them before the 23rd of this month. They are turning out really cute, and I'll share them on the blog soon as I get more of them made.

Getting Some Sun

No not me....the squirrel is the one sun bathing. This big brown squirrel always like to lay on the rail and take in a sun bath in the afternoons. Guess he just gets tired and want take a nap. I think the marble is cool with the shade of the hickory tree. He must get hot in the 85+ temps.
I have little eggplants growing! How cool is that. I got one off of another plant and was so disappointed that I didn't get more. The 2nd and 3rd plant are fully loaded with flowers. I'm hoping they can grow by the end of September. My shoulder is still hurting. I didn't workout as hard as I had been doing, but still got 30 minutes on the treadmill in, with lunges every 5 minutes. WHEW!

I had to post the picture of this fat cat.WOW what a large cat!

Had to post this one too. Hey if you can't joke about being on a diet what can you joke about?

Techno Lunchtime Sketch #226

I was looking for something to make yesterday and I went to Mary Jo's blog and found this week's lunchtime challenge. Since I'm still thinking Fall I used Day of Gratitude stamp set. Colors: Elegant Eggplant, Cajun Craze, Vanilla, Espresso, and More Mustard. Love these colors together for Fall.

Had a good workout day. Did 45 on the treadmill, but stepped it up a bit. After doing 15 minutes I got off and did lunges around the garage, then got back on the treadmill and repeated the lunges every 5 minutes of treadmill time. I think that really boosted up my cardio.

Did some cleaning that needed to be done, did some stamping. Viewed the Stampin'Up! website lots of times to see if my order had shipped. Started my new afternoon job, and did some stamping. Not a bad day.

Inspirational (giggle today)

Little Witch

Isn't she a cute witch? I bet the Good Witch of the North wouldn't have to ask this cutie if she was a good witch or a bad witch!

Fall was my inspiration for the card. I used the Sunflower background stamp. Sunflowers and Fall just go together. Stamp fom Greeting Card Kids. Colors: crumb cake, old olive, early espresso, and soft suede. Other things used, ribbon, lace, safety pin, dot embossing folder, aqua painter, and paper piercing tool.

Didn't do a lot yesterday. I didn't have to cook since I had lots of leftovers so that was a plus. I did do my workout early as it was pretty hot and muggy out. Rained during the afternoon and we had some nice thunder and lightening. So most of the day I spent working on Christmas crafts. That was fun.

Inspiration

Don't Quit
When you've eaten too much and you can't write it down,
And you feel like the biggest failure in town.
When you want to give up just because you gave in,
and forget all about being healthy and thin.
So What! You went over your points a bit,
It's your next move that counts...So don't you quit!
It's a moment of truth, it's an attitude change.
It's learning the skills to get back in your range.
It's telling yourself, "You've done great up till now.
You can take on this challenge and beat it somehow."
It's part of your journey toward reaching your goal.
You're still gonna make it, just stay in control.
To stumble and fall is not a disgrace,
If you summon the will to get back in the race.
But, often the struggler's, when loosing their grip,
Just throw in the towel and continue to slip.
And learn too late when the damage is done,
that the race wasn't over...they still could have won.
Lifestyle change can be awkward and slow,
but facing each challenge will help you grow.
Success is failure turned inside out,
the silver tint in a cloud of doubt.
When you're pushing to the brink, just refuse to submit,
If you bite it, you write it....But don't you quit!

Case and Family Picnic

I saw this card on Pinterest and just had to make it. I didn't have all the stuff I needed so my friend Kat sent me some stuff to make it. I still changed it up a bit. I have supplies to make a few more, and I see from looking at the card now I didn't quite get the table lined up. One of the tea cups looks like its floating.

We had a family picnic yesterday. Skip's mom and aunts started meeting at the park every Labor Day weekend when there children were little and they have carried on the tradition. There are a total of 16 children in Kate's family. Can we say WOW!!!! From left to right: Eileen, Lois, Erin, Fran, and MIL Kate. They are all just wonderful ladies. Just as sweet as they can be.

Sarah and Jason came this year. It was great having them there. The trails had been repaved this year and since they had their roller blades in the car they decided to go skating. I was able to get a few pictures of them skating. This one I'm going to enlarged and frame. I'll give it to them for Christmas.

Inspirational Weight loss quote of the day:

"The greatest thing you have is the 24 hours in front
of you.
The past is gone; the future is distant.
Today you CAN succeed.
Set a goal you can achieve in the next 24 hours."

Come on get Scrappy

Received a great card from Marianne yesterday. She's so great about sending me encouragement cards. I have to share with you that Marianne is also on a weight loss journey. We weigh in on the same day, and had been a good support system for each other. She also lost a pound this week. YAY!!!! You go girl. We will both make it work for us!
So I was cleaning out the scrap box and found this stamped image left over from a stamp camp I did last year. Then I found some embossed cardstock that would work perfectly with it...and this card was created. Its got a nice woodsy feel to it. Would make a great guy card.

Won't be home much today. There is a family picnic to attend. MIL Kate's sisters came out for a visit from PA. We went last night and had dinner with them at Bob Evans. I was real good and had the egg white veggie omelet. Didn't workout as yesterday was my day off. I did however spend an hour out in the garden weeding and harvesting more tomatoes. I also got some ripe butternut, and acorn squash.

1st Day of September

Ah with the first day of September my mind starts to think about Halloween. Made this quick no layer card using Jack of all Trades stamp set. I just love using that one. Colors: Celery, Tango, Old Olive, and black.

I'm working on so many different projects right now, because it is the 1st day of September I also think about Fall, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Oh I forgot the biggest thing I think about......My birthday. Not counting years anymore but I still like when the birthday rolls around. Just another 29 days. Hubby is putting in a SU order for me, as I told him that is what I really wanted, so that order will be going in today. Now will I open it when it arrives or will I wait till the end of the month......let me think......you know I'm going to open it!

It was hot yesterday. Reached 93, and for the record to date we have had 26 days of over 90 degree weather.

I'd like to put in a thank you to my friend Kat. We were chatting yesterday morning and I told her I was going to go hit the grocery store before it got to hot outside, and she asks.....did you do your workout yet? I told her I'd do it when I got back from the store. Now somewhere inside of me I told myself that the workout should come first. So I did 45 on the treadmill, got cleaned up then went to the store. Thanks Kat for making me think about what is more important to me. Friends are always right, and they always have your back!

Weigh in - lost 1 pound. Only 29 more to goal!

My world is expanding, but my butt is shrinking!
