Are you my Mummy?

My Doctor Who friends will understand the title of this post.

I couldn't resist making these cute little mummies using

empty toilet paper tubes.

After wrapping the tube and adding the candy I attached

this little pull tag. When the tag is pulled

it rips through the crepe paper and the contents spill out.

I used a web embossing folder and stamped the tag

with little spiders.

Added some wiggle eyes. I think

these are just adorable!

Halloween is just around the corner.

So went to Pat Catan's yesterday and did I ever get a surprise!

It looked like a typhoon whipped through the inside as

they are in the process of moving all the contents of the store.

They also got more registers. Since Michael's purchased

Catan's they are making the changes now. Reminds me

of how the Michael's stores are set up. Not saying I like it, but

not saying I don't like it. I'll have to go back next week and see it

when its completed.

Crock-pot Banana Bread

I made banana bread in my crock-pot!

Its been so hot and muggy here. I don't turn the oven on in the summer

months. And FYI....I even take the crockpot out to the garage and let it

bake so I won't have any extra heat in the kitchen.

I got the recipe from Crock-pot Ladies. You can get

the recipe here

When Kat was here I made the bread and added chocolate chips.

It pretty rich, so when I made it again I cut down on the chips.

YUM.

Going to have another 90+ day again. Yesterday the

humidity was so bad you could actually see a haze outside.

Some of the Cleveland schools had to close and send the kids home

as it was so hot, and they were having trouble with the air conditioning.

Skip wasn't so lucky he had to work.

We are still getting tomatoes, red peppers, and eggplant from the garden.

I'll be roasting eggplant and tomatoes today on the grill.

I also have to make a Pat Catan's run. (you can stop laughing now Kat)

It's a Picnic

Well it was fun at the family picnic on Sunday.

Here we have Sarah and John playing corn hole.

On the other side of the field we have Jason and Skip.

Later I was able to catch John, and Sarah on the teeter-totter.

Me with my sister from another mother Mary Jo.

Sarah chatting with grandma Katie.

Group shot of some of the group. Next year we need to take

a group photo when everyone gets there.

Front row from left to right, Aunt Fran, Aunt Hilda, Susie, and Grandma Kate.

See ya all next year!

Mailable Monday #167

I've been busy working on my daughter's wedding scrapbook.

A long time ago I bought a ton of stuff for it. This was

way back before she got engaged, and even thought about getting married.

The line is called Once upon a time. Since I have 3 paper packs I have

lots of leftovers. I love the castle! I just cut it and layered on a cream base card.

Used Soft Suede to sponge around the edges.

The greeting is retired from SU called Three little words.

We had fun yesterday at a family picnic. Be back tomorrow with photos

from that event.

Brunswick Farm Visit

The last Sunday Kat was here we went and visited

the Brunswick Heritage Farm.

They have a garden, and local farmers, and crafters set up booths

with things to sell.

Above photo is Kat and Skip taking a tour of the garden.

They raise bees, and have plenty of clover for them.

We came home with some honey that was made in the fall and it was

so good!

Me and Kat both got a kick out the name of this Nursery.

Pumpkin patch.

This crafter turned tires into art.

The artist was very proud of this one. I didn't really care for it.

I did like the birdhouses that had a license plate for a roof, and

a spark plug for the perch.

Inside the large barn they had historical info on the farm.

And some decorations. Love the remake on the outhouse door.

and speaking of outhouse......

Here is Skip using one....well not really it was a model. They even

posted a sign do not use. And it was build for two as it had two "seats"

Washi Tape Adhesive Sheets

I made this card using a Washi Tape 6x6 pack.

The adhesive sheets worked really well with the thinlit dies.

The little squares at the lower corner were done with a square punch.

I believe Kat got  these for me while she was shopping at AC Moore in

PA. I'll be using them some more as I'm wondering how

they will work on 3d items.

So while I was stamping Cherokee was busy relaxing on the craft

room floor. Nothing like a good stretch.

Well....maybe a good nap after a good stretch.

Sunflower Anniversary Card

My daughter and son in law's 1st year wedding anniversary is

coming up on the 12th. Since there

theme was fall and sunflowers I decided to make

this card to capture that wonderful time.

I used a Sizzix sunflower thinlit to create the sunflower.

I just did several layers and sponged the edges with Chocolate

Chip ink. The designer paper is also SU, not sure from

which pack but I know its retired.

The flower is layered on a white panel that was embossed

with the lattice square folder.

I love how it turned out, and I hope she loves it too.

Not sure where the summer went, but here it is September already.

I got an early birthday present when Kat was here.

Isn't this ring beautiful? Even better in person. I just

love, love, love the elephants!

The elephants go all the way around the band.

Big thanks Kat!!!!!
