Snow for April

So we woke up to snow yesterday morning. Yes you heard

me right SNOW!

It covered all the flowers in the front. Oh you might

notice that part of my white picket fence in the front is missing.

Skip is replacing it.

Yep the cars were covered. It was very wet snow. We even lost

power for short bit in the wee hours of the morning.

It will all be melted by today or tomorrow, as its suppose to be

close to 70 on Sunday. Ah the joy of living in Ohio. The weather just

whips around and changes direction all the time.

Here is a cute little artist trading card I made for a

Mother's day swap I'm in. Still have a few more swaps to finish.

But I'm getting there.

Build a Basket Die by Darice

Since I picked up some new dies the other day at

Pat Catan's I made this Easter card.

Basket is Soft Suede cardstock.

Eggs are misc designer papers.

What I like about the Darice dies is they come

with a magnet sheet. How cool it that.

You don't have to pull the dies off double sided tape like

the way some other brands of dies are packaged. No te tape

residue to hassle with, and you have a sheet that the dies will

stick to for easy storage. Gotta love that!

Another project I worked on yesterday is this

cut egg artist trading card.

So which came first...the chicken or the egg?

Its an age old question, and no I'm not going to rock

you to sleep tonight while you ponder the answer.

Black Rhino Expecting and Charms

Great news for Kibbibi one of the black rhinos at the

Cleveland Zoo. She is expecting, and due in the spring of

2018.

You can visit the Cleveland Zoo's website. They have more

photos of her and an ultra sound. So yes she is expecting!

So I went to Pat Catan's yesterday afternoon, and found

a entire bin of these fun charms and the price on the bins showed .25 cent each.

I thought cool! What a deal. I could use these for scissor charms, or other

craft items. When I went to check out it all wen to hell.

I told the clerk these were a great buy for 25 cents. Then

she goes, well some of them ring up at 1.00 and they are not

all 25 cents. The first ones the car and polar bear came up

as 1.00 and she asked if I still wanted them. I told

her yes I wanted them but not for 1.00 each.

I asked for the manager. So she came up

and I told her it would be different if someone just

one item to an incorrect bin, but these charms were all

in the same location.

So she did override the price and I got them for the

25 cent that they were marked at. (and yes Marianne the

parrot one is coming to you)

I got bought these die cuts made by Darice.

I also had a problem with the price of these, but

that's another story that I'm still mad about. Ever

since Michael's bought Pat Catan's the store has been

changing and not for the better.

Beautiful Red Ladies Quilt

A very special thank you to Kat's mom for giving me this

lovely red quilt.

Just love red work! And the ladies are so pretty!

Here are some close ups of some of the panels.

So pretty, and all hand done right down to the quilting.

Thanks Kat for bringing it to me.

I got to take my car out for a spin yesterday. Had to

run to the post office and mail a package of cards to my friend

Melody. Then I went to Khol's to do some shopping.

Glad the snow is over and my car is now out of the garage, and

ready to drive. But I think I may have spoke to soon as the weather

forecast is calling for snow this week. Good Grief!

On the upside it won't hang around long. Spring is here that's my

story and I'm sticking to it!

Little Red Quilt Store

Okay I need to double back and start posting the photos

of things me and Kat did while she was here last week.

This is the store front of the Little Red Quilt House.

I was looking for new stores to check out and I came

across this one. It was opened in 2009, and its not

to far from me. I had no idea it was even there. Cute

little fabric store, but they really need to get a new sign!

Lots of fabric.

Some more.

Lots of patterns.

I'm thinking I need to go back and pick up the pattern to make

this wallet. The rolls on top are actually fabric cork. Never knew there

was such a thing. Pretty cool.

The store had lots of vintage sewing machines on display.

Me and Kat both loved this quilt.

They also have quilt classes in the back room of the store.

I may need to check into that.

Mailable Monday #188

Monday Monday, so good to me. Monday Monday it was

all I hoped it would be. Okay I'm singing the Mamas and Papas song

Monday Monday.....I bet you are now singing it!

Thanks to my friend Kat for bringing me this stamp set when

she was here last week.

It was so nice yesterday. Lots of sunshine and in the 60's.

Didn't do much. Made a whole chicken in the crockpot for dinner.

Skip went over to his sister's to replace and outlet, and dyer hose.

John was away for the day, so cleaned up the stamping studio, and worked

on an Easter flip bag.

Need to finish that up so I should be able to hit the post office later today.

Then I have to start working on some Mother Day swaps I signed up for.

I'm itching to make another pocket letter, as I haven't made one for awhile now.

Prima Doll Easter Tag

Happy Sunday.

Sorry I've been missing from the blog this week.

I think I have so much info and photos to

post it is overwhelming. So

I've decided to start small and just post a photo

of a Easter tag that I made for a swap.

Its a simple tag. I didn't over embellish it but

I think it turned out fine.

At the beginning of last week I was busy enjoying Kathy's company.

She left on Wednesday morning, then I think I was just sad that she left

and I didn't get much done the rest of the week.

Thanks for the visit Kat. Enjoyed having you here.

My daughter Sarah was in a car accident Friday on her

way home from work. She's fine, but very sore. While sitting at a stop

in traffic she was hit from behind with enough force to cause her car

to hit the car in front of her. The car is a total loss. I told her the car

can replaced, but she can't be. I'm thankful she did go to the ER and

got checked out. They gave her muscle relaxers. Her and Jason are

going today to pick up the rental car.

I'll be back tomorrow with another edition of Mailable Monday.

Suppose to be a nice day, and thankfully a break from the rain.
