Day at the Zoo

Spent Wednesday visiting the Cleveland Zoo.

Of course first stop had to be with the elephants.

I like that they got a new habitat, and it is still located at the front of the zoo.

This is the only male Willie.

Some of Willie's ladies. There are four females.

This lioness was so cute. Just like a very large house cat.

She had all the lounging moves that my cat Cherokee has.

Who ya calling a long neck?

Tree full of buzzards. They let them fly free.

Timon! I wonder where his friend Pumbaa was hiding?

Shere Khan

Love the new tiger habitat. You can get very close to them.

Me and Kat at the new carousal.  I didn't know they had one. Pretty cool!

Grizzly bear trying to nap.

Skip and Kat resting. I told hubby I want him to make me one

of those benches. Just the right height, and great for the back.

I didn't catch it on film, but right after I took this photo two

hawks flew up from the creek and over the bridge we were standing on. Pretty awesome!

Great day at the zoo!

Ephemera Halloween Artist Tradining Cards

I spent yesterday getting caught up on some swaps.

These artist trading cards for October.

Done on black cardstock. The cards are double embossed. First with

a spider folder then heat embossed with iridescent ice powder.

The only stamping I did was the "spooky" greeting.

For the rest of the cards I added Halloween ephemera by Tim Holtz.

They came together pretty quick after I got all the embossing finished.

Gift Box Card

Had fun yesterday stamping with Kat.

We made cards that hold a 2 x 2 inch gift box.

How cool is that?

Here is a side view

Here is another view with the box out of the card and open to show

candy inside.

Of course I had to make a Christmas one.

Greeting reads Get your Santa On.

Here is a view of the top of the box.

We had fun at the zoo yesterday. I'll be posting some photos of

that tomorrow.

Kat left for home early this morning. Time really flies by when she is visiting!

Halloween Swaps from Kathleen

I got awesome Halloween swap from Kathleen.

Here is the flipbag. Love the spider hanging off the bottom.

Also got bat lights! Thought they would look good around the bag that I displayed

on an easel.

Spooky pocket letter!

Three little tags.

Witchy!

Last one.

Love the little witch candy corn holder.

and one more treat holder.

Spooky Halloween cards!

socks for me to wear, and a yummy smelling caramel candle.

Thanks Kathleen! Love all the stuff you make girlfriend!

Speaking of girlfriend Kat came yesterday. We went shopping and

just had fun. Today we are off to visit the Cleveland Zoo.

Halloween Flipbag, and Coffee Sleeve

So I can post my Halloween flipbag now as my crafty buddy

Kathleen received her swap yesterday.

My theme here was a witchy handbag.

The vellum pocket in the front of the bag is suppose to be the

witch's wallet/

I ran the vellum through a spiderweb embossing folder.

Used mini staples along the side edges, and washi tape across the top edge.

Now going back to the front pocket I had this funky black beaded trim

that I thought would look cool on the bag.

This is a coffee sleeve base. I'm getting addicted to making coffee sleeves.

Here is what it looked like filled and packaged.

I also received my swap from Kathleen yesterday.

And as always it is so awesome! Sorry I didn't

have time to take photos of all the goodies yesterday so I'll be

posting all those yummy Halloween projects tomorrow.

Giving a shout out to my friend Kat who is traveling today.

She is coming to see me! YAY. She's my late birthday gift!

Be back tomorrow.

Mailable Monday #213

Well my birthday is over, but I'm still making cards.

Stamp set Beautiful You by Stampin'Up!

Stamped with Memento ink, and colored with

Prisma pencils, and Gamsol.

Me and Sarah had fun yesterday. Went shopping...lots of shopping.

Didn't buy a lot, but we got some good deals.

If the walking we did shopping wasn't enough afterward we

stopped by the lake and took a walk along the trail, and the outside of the lake.

She hadn't been all the way around the lake since it was completed, so

Sarah enjoyed that. I did to. So happy she got to see the deer that me and

hubby have been enjoying all summer watching them grow.

Today I'll be doing some light cleaning as my friend Kat will be

visiting tomorrow. I had planned to take her to the Cleveland Zoo on Wednesday, but

those plans I fear will have to be changed, and it is suppose to be in the mid 80's by

the middle of the week, and I don't think I want to hike around the zoo in that heat.

Sewing Theme Birthday from Connie and Lisa

It was a sewing theme birthday from my friends Connie and Lisa.

They wrapped gifts in brown paper, but instead of tissue paper they packed the gifts

in old tissue paper patterns. How fun!

Birthday card.

Set of sewing themed cards.

Some notebooks. Love the little pin cushion that they made

using a mini loaf pan as the base.

the cushion is removable.

Elephant key chain, and in my favorite color too.

Thanks ladies for making my birthday special.

Hubby got me a large pot of mums, and a bottle of wine.

We took a long walk which was so nice as the weather was beautiful!

Then we went to my favorite eatery Wild Fusion.

After that we did a little shopping at JoAnn's. A good time was had!

Sarah is stopping by today. Going to do some shopping with her as well.

Looking forward to spending mommy daughter time.

I'm so thankful that I have so many people that remember me!

I'll be back tomorrow with another edition of Mailable Monday.

And happy October!
