Mailable Monday #164

Well I'm still playing with die cuts that Ceil sent to me.

The pine tree is from Tim Holtz, and done in silver cardstock.

For the background I broke out the watercolor paper and

used Soft Sky, Marina Mist, and Pool Party reinkers.

After the panel was dry, I glued on the tree using Tombo liquid glue.

Greeting is by SU.

Panel was layered on brushed silver cardstock, then a white base card.

I then used silver tattered angels and sprayed the entire card.

Here is a closer view so you can see the all the shimmer.

Very happy with this one! I need to get that die. Thanks for

being an enabler Ceil!

Die Cut Cards

Still playing with die cuts that Ceil sent me (via Kat)

This one uses Tim Hotlz Pine Trees. The

reindeer is also a stamp set by Tim. No thinlit to cut it

out so I had to break out the craft knife along with the scissors.

I mounted all the elements on a white panel that was embossed with

the Woodland folder.

Here is another die cut. The tree and the border was all cut

with one die. Not sure where Ceil got this one but I think its awesome!

I mounted on a Woodland folder panel then I ran it through

the Gently Falling folder.

Snowman is from Ink-a-dink-a-doo. It was fussy cut, and mounted on pop dots.

Ceil was busy cutting all these die cuts for me.

There are several in the group that I plan to use in Sarah's wedding scrapbook.

Thanks again Ceil!

New Trash Bag

When my friend Kat was here we

took a trip to Jo Ann Fabrics where I found

this cute little bag.

Its a bit smaller than the standard size reusable bags that you

can buy in the grocery store. At first I was going

to leave it in the car so I could reuse it when I went to the craft stores, but

then I decided that I wanted to see it everyday, so I turned it

into a waste container for the stamping studio. Just lined it with

a plastic bag.

I may have to buy another one to leave in the car for those shopping emergency's.

Speaking of reusable bags....

I got this Cleveland bag for Kat. Thought she might need

a bag to hold her Pat Catan goodies. Since she has visited me several times I thought

she needed a Cleveland bag.

Taking a Look Back

I cleaned up the library file drawers. They

use to have flowers on each of the drawers that were

punched out and decorated, but I thought it looked to busy and

I just wanted a clean look.

Pulled out one of the writing surface's  and put a button jar (thanks Kat), and

the basket that holds some of my trims.

Funny that I'm posting this as the file chest was the very first post

that I had on this blog back in 2007

You can see it here

Can't believe I've been blogging for so long!

Crazy Bird Get Well Cards

Okay the birds are just so dang ugly that they grow on you.

At least wise they have grown on me. I'm

glad I broke down and finally bought them.

The background was done with a chicken wire embossing folder by Cuttlebug.

After embossing I lightly went over the raised image with Chocolate Chip ink.

Bird was done in Crushed Curry. Hat Basic Gray, bow tie Real Red.

The card on the left has the bird holding a bunch of flowers they were

done with Blushing Bride.

I spent yesterday picking up the house, an moving some stuff

around in the craft room. I emptied out a large drawer that had a ton

of stamping wheels in it. Since I haven't used a wheel in month of Sundays

I took them out and boxed them up. Not sure what I'm going to do with

them at this point. I may just store them for a bit.

Now what do I fill the "found space" with? I'm sure I can fill it

with something.

Tales from the Garden

So remember the mystery plant that sprouted

up in our garden?

Well turns out its not a watermelon plant like

I thought. Its a butternut squash, and its taking over the yard!

It grew out of the fenced in garden and is

now up to the back deck.

My friend Kat said its going to start growing over the house next!

Speaking of Kat....she dropped by and stayed a few days with us.

She left the other day and I miss her already! She's off to visit her mom.

Here she is with Skip helping to pick tomatoes. Don't they look

like happy farmers!

Gotta love the matching hats.

We got some much needed rain last night.

We also had a pretty great thunder storm. Glad it rained as

the garden really needed it.

Christmas Pocket Letter

Well I'm just having a blast making pocket letters.

These things are like potato chips....can't make just one!

I made this one using a Christmas theme. Using reds, kraft, and white cardstock,

and designer paper.

Of course I had to break out the fuse tool and

make another mini pocket letter to go with the standard size one.

a

I got new stamps the other day from a sweet online stamping buddy

Lisa. She sent me two Tim Holtz stamps. I used the Santa in the center of the

pocket letter. The stamp has the words to the Night Before Christmas and I used

it as a background to all the cards in the pockets including the mini pockets.

Big thanks Lisa!!!!!

This letter is up for trade also, but I think my VC Rocks pal Carolyn is going

to trade with me.

I'll be back tomorrow with tales from the Garden.
