What's all the Buzz

Happy last day of 2019.

Wonder what the New Year 2020 will hold for us.

I finished up some incomplete cards. Cleaned up the stamping

chateau this morning, and found these two unfinished cards.

Just needed to add a greeting to them.

Earlier in November I helped a friend design

cards for her daughter's upcoming baby shower.

The above cards were samples I was working on.

Snowing all day! Now why couldn't it have done this last

Tuesday on Christmas Eve?

I must say it is pretty to look at since I don't have to go out

and drive in it.

Hope everyone has a wonderful New Year!

Mailable Monday #237

I haven't made a Mailable Monday post in a very long time.

Thought I'd end 2019 with one.

The cat stamp, and greeting are made by Picket Fence.

Stamped the cat on a white base card then did the

stenciling. Cats eyes were colored with three different shades

of green by Prisma pencils.

Going to the movies today with my friend Betty. Will be seeing

Little Women. It's getting good reviews, so

I'm sure it will be a great movie.

The wind woke me, and hubby up at 6 this morning. I know

some people lost power, but we were lucky to still have ours.

At that time of the morning I really need my coffee!

Christmas Card turned into Book

I received this Christmas card from my friend Lisa two years ago.

Since so many of cards received are handmade by friends I wanted

to use them in a creative way.

Decided to turn them into little books.

Took parchment paper, and an envelope to create a notebook.

Used simple pamphlet stitch to bind the pages in the card.

To cover the greeting on the inside I used a piece of patterned paper.

To the pages I did some stamping, and added a few pieces of ephemera.

I'm thinking I will "gift" the books back to the people who sent me the card.

That way they can use them as a journal or to plan next year's Christmas card

lists, gifts, and so on.

Snowman Drawing Game

On Christmas Eve all of us played build a snowman drawing game.

We rolled a die to add parts to a snowman.

Above are the ones Emily drew.

and Jason's snowmen. I forgot how well he can draw too.

Hubby was silly and drew a snow mantis. LOL

Sarah's is the one in the middle. Love the feather hat.

Didn't get a photo of the ones John drew.

Fun game!

Photo of me, and my girls. My ugly sweater has a sequin rub that can

be changed from nice to naughty.

Made lasagna, salad, and garlic bread for the family. It was

a great get together.

Emily's Wedding Album

Merry Christmas!

The kids came over yesterday to celebrate Christmas a day early.

Made a wedding scrapbook for Emily, and she was very happy with it.

So now that she has seen it I can post photos.

The cover has rosettes that I made using scraps from her wedding dress

alteration. Added a button the centers. The leaves were die cut with gray

cardstock then embossed with different folders. I sponged the edges and crumpled them

up a bit.

To the inside cover I attached one of the wedding invitations.

Photo of them outside of the church after the wedding on the first page.

Church, and pew bow. Emily likes clean and simple designs.

I tried to use different textures in the album without having it get to busy.

All the leaves throughout the album are die cut, and created like the ones on the cover.

I popped up some of the photos, so I could add journaling cards.

On this page I added a clear container to hold the rocks used for

the centerpieces. Also added a cactus from a piece of pattern paper that is in the shape of a heart.

The jouraling at the top reads "let them eat cake"

One of my favorite photos printed in black in white. This was

taken after the wedding when everyone blew bubbles for the happy couple.

I die cut the photos with an oval first. Next I ran

half of the gray layer with an embossing folder.

Center photo is popped for more journaling.

Well this photo says it all.

Page showing the fathers.

Inside back cover.

There are a lot more pages, but I didn't take photos of all of them.

Just wanted to share the highlights.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas!

Barbie Tree, and More

I keep forgetting to post photos of the tree, and

other decor in the house.

Put the Barbie tree up this year. One of the new ornaments is

a glittery Eiffel tower that Emily got for me.

I'll move it into the stamping chateau after the tree comes down.

Some ornaments on the tree.

I decorated with snowmen.

More of them. The tall snowman in the back was made using

a bed spring. My friend Connie made it.

More in the kitchen!

and still more on top of the fridge. These snowmen are

going to be the closest thing we are going to have to a white Christmas.

Going to be in the 50's today, and 55 by tomorrow. I'm dreaming of a sunny Christmas!

Gingerbread house decorated by Emily.

Snowman cookie jar Sarah got me last year for Christmas.

The little guy in the front is actually measuring cups.

Even the guitar got decorated!

Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas!

Button Snowman Ornament

Button snowman I made. Started with two layers of white felt that I cut

into a snowman shape, then just added the white buttons.

I was inspired by my friend Connie who sent me

this button snowflake ornament she made. Thanks Connie!

Looks good on my Barbie tree.

Which reminds me that I haven't shared any pics of my holiday decorations, so

I'll be back tomorrow with those.
