Egg Hunt Post-it Notes

Well I'm finally feeling up to doing some crafting.

Been well over a week since I came down with the flu.

Today's project is a post-it note holder for Easter.

Base is made with a 4 inch square chipboard coaster. Covered

the front and back of it with pattern paper.

Started with a white piece of cardstock to make the cover for the post-it note pad.

Used different shades of distress ink then added egg hunt and sticker to the cover.

Used a cello bag to display the holder, and used a matching topper.

So what is everyone doing with their extra day?

Since I'm feeling better I have to do some much needed cleaning.

House got neglected over the past week. Still bitterly cold so I don't

think I'll be going out till tomorrow.

Hobby Lobby Therapy

Well I just couldn't take another day of being housebound.

Ventured  out yesterday to Hobby Lobby, and took in

some much needed retail therapy.

Above is a stack of washi tape, and collage paper.

They also had some Sizzix dies on clearance that I had to buy.

All part of my get well therapy. I'm sure my doctor would approve of this

patient cure thyself approach.

Lots of cute Holiday dies. Check out the Santa face! Super cute at just 3.74.

The larger set in the back is Santa's workshop. It's Santa's factory under a snow globe.

Pretty cool.

Love the plants with the hanging cord. I'm sure I'll be using this

set soon. And I love the little girl zippered bag.

Not a bad haul. I missed out on a lot of the dies as I think they put them

on clearance at the beginning of the week, but I'm happy to have found the ones that I did.

Easter Pocket Tags

Sorry I have been away for so long. Me and hubby got sick last Wednesday, and

its been pretty bad.

Thought it was just a bad cold, but with the bad coughing, chills, body aches, and

light head I'm thinking it is some sort of flu bug.

Today is the first day since it started that I have been in my craft room.

Have been a zombie on the recliner with the TV on. I'm so sick of TV!!!!!

Slept much better last night, so I'm thinking the worst is over and we are both on the mend.

The Easter tags I made last week before the sickness hit, but I didn't get a chance to post them.

Tag were die cut using Stephanie Barnard framlits.

Added another piece at the bottom part of the tag to create a pocket.

Used some die cuts to decorate the pocket fronts.

Thinking they turned out pretty cute.

Well I've used up the energy I had this morning. Time for more tea and rest.

Blast from the Past Vintage Stamps

John came over Saturday, and we did some junking.

Junking to us means hitting the thrift stores, and Goodwill.

Well I hit a mother load at the Brunswick Goodwill.

They had four large bags of single wood block stamps, and also

Stampin'Up sets. Had to get them all of course

These large blocks shown were made by Rubber Baby Buggy Bumpers.

I don't even think that company is still in business. Date stamps on them go

back to 1991. Can you believe that!

These were popular long before die cutting machines, and thinlits took over.

I still think they are a nice blast from the past, and sometimes I like to just fussy cut

instead of running the die cutting machines I have.

Look at these cute little boxes, and gift tag bag.

In the stamps that I bought there are also large stamps that  fold

into shaker cards. Plus of there are tons of Halloween, Christmas, animal, fruits,

and misc stamps. To many to list. I'm still trying to work them into my existing stock.

Box in a Card for Easter

Yesterday I made this cute box in a card.

Can't mail this one. Unless you put it in a bigger box.

The 2x2 box sits in a cutout space of an A2 sized card.

You can remove the box and fill it with a small gift.

Maybe candy? Since this is an Easter themed one I'm

thinking of filling it will a bit of green grass and a little

tiny plastic egg that would hold a piece of candy, or some

little embellishments for a crafty friend.

Here is a side view. You can see how the box sits in the card.

Since I embossed the front of the card with a basket looking pattern

I didn't feel the cardstock was strong enough to hold the box without

the cardstock bending on the smaller size of the card front. I added

another layer inside the card front and back to give it more support.

Sewing Themed Pocket Letter with a Twist

This is a pocket letter that was completed

in landscape.

I joined a swap to make a sewing themed pocket letter

with the twist that it had to be done in landscape.

I've made many pocket letters, but never made one this way before.

Close up view of the banner hanging on the letter front.

Punched the hearts in dark brown. Next I added white gel pen stitching,

and added some random buttons. The banner is clipped to the

pocket with mini clothespins.

I tried to use actually sewing notions in this letter.

Many of the cards have actual pieces of a sewing pattern on them.

You can see in the upper right corner I used a safety pin, and

a needle threader.

The center card is filled with mini buttons and beads to make a shaker.

Hope my partner enjoys it.

and this foxy card was made by my crafty friend Betty.

Clearance Goodies from Hobby Lobby

Just posting a few goodies I picked up at Hobby Lobby on clearance.

These are craft totes. Normally 7.99 on clearance for 1.99.

Had to have a blue, and a pink one.

This looks like fun. Mixed Media transfers. You color the designs

then you can rub them on to your projects. Not bad for .99 cents.

Adorable little girl envelopes. These will be perfect to put

an artist trading card into, and swap. Steal at .74 cents. Love

the little mermaid one!

Halloween themed stickers for .49 cents. They had three

packs so I took them all. The calendar was 90% off so that was

a great price at .90 cents. There are some great images that I plan to

turn into envelopes.

and last one Faber Castell stencils. Picked up two different ones.

Should be fun to use with mixed media.

We got hit with a mini snow storm last night. About 4 inches on the ground.

So pretty as the trees are all covered with white. Hubby is outside now running the

snow blower. I'm staying nice and toasty warm today. I'll be crafting!

Peacock Set

Yesterday I worked on a set of 4 cards to

be swapped with my friend Kathleen.

She sent me a craft magazine that came with a stamp set.

I was thinking out of the box for this card. I used the flower that

came with the set for the girl's skirt. Just cut off the stem, and

leaves then turned the flower upside down to make the skirt.

The peacock was stamped on a piece of pattern paper then

colored. I cut around the tail part so I could slide it

into the round thinlit die before cutting.

Not sure I'm loving this card. It may need a do

over.

The last one was done on glossy white cardstock.

Stamped the images with dye based black ink.

After it was dry I did the coloring with dye based markers.

It is pretty bright. Sometimes I forget to use glossy cardstock.

Coffee Sleeve Easter Cart

So is it too early for Easter?

Answer is no if you are a crafter like me.

Last year I made Valentine carts using a coffee sleeve for the base.

Here is a photo of the one I made. Isn't it super cute?

Had so much fun making it last year that I thought

an Easter cart would be perfect.

The bunny on the front is made from the following: 1 inch, and 1 1/4 inch circle punches:

the ears are made with a flower building punch.

Had to add the big white fluffy pom-pom for it's tail.

The decorative flower trim going around the cart I got last year

at Hobby Lobby. Perfect for Spring!

The stamps used to create the greeting on the front, and

the adorable egg, and carrot poke is from the Hot Buy section at Michael's.

The Hello Sping

tag was made using the same punches as on the front of the cart.

This time I used a smaller glittery pom-pom for the tail.

This was such a fun and happy project to make!

I know I'll be making a few more of them to give away.

Wine Collection

While I was stuck in the house most of the day I

made a wine themed card collection.

My friend Kathy gave me a 6x6 paper pad several years ago, and

I'm happy to be able to use it. Such pretty paper!

The girl was stamped, colored then cut out.

Her dress is also from the same pad of paper.

I added strips of mounting foam to lift her off the card a bit.

Did the same thing with this one.

and this one.

This one I gave myself a break, and didn't color or

cut the girl image. She is stamped on the background paper.

The word wine was already printed on the paper.

Had fun with this collection. Made a mess of

my chateau, but you can't create without making a mess.....Right?

Heart Pocket ATC

I came up short one February artist trading card.

So I had to whip up another one. Didn't want to

make the same thing so I came up with a heart pocket

to hold the card.

Picture is from a pack of Tim Holtz cards.

Sponged a border around the base card, and

stamped the background with script stamp.

Added the little sticker to finish it off.

We got a bit more snow last night so we have about 3 inches total.

Didn't go out at all yesterday, and now I have cabin fever!

Going to get hubby to take me to Hobby Lobby later today.

I'm wishing for Spring so I can get my car out of the garage!!!!!

Give me Blue, and Orange ATC

I finished up my blue, and orange artist trading cards yesterday.

Something about blue, and orange. Love those colors together.

So what is the next project? I'll be working on things to sell

at the craft show me, and Betty will be doing in November.

That should be fun. I haven't worked a craft show in years.

We had a bit of freezing rain yesterday, and I woke up to snow

this morning. Looks very pretty from my stamping chateau window!

Time for coffee!

Speaking of coffee I went to Michael's yesterday, and the hot pad paper

packs were on sale buy one get two free. I finally found Brewtiful Day pack that

I have been searching for since December. Also picked up an Easter pad, and a

lovely pack called Mint to Be. Lovely shades of pastel greens, and yellows. Perfect

for Spring.

Look Ma no Stamps just Paper

Last week I went to Betty's to craft.

Didn't bring any of my supplies so I borrowed her's.

Love that we can do that!

Anyway I used one of her 6x6 paper packs, and created four cards.

Of course I made a set for Betty, and me.

These cards use no stamping. Just layering, and

doilies for embellishments.

Betty's has a board from We are Memory Keepers that

cuts a decorative edge, so I used that on this card, and one other one.

The dress makers dummy is part of the pattern paper pack.

One of my favorites. I used two different papers to make the layer.

Just butted them together on the base card.

and the last one. I also used the decorative cutter for the edge of this card.

Layered a strip of pattern paper on the inside so it can be seen from the front.

So much you can do with a paper pack that doesn't require getting your

fingers all inky!

Spinning Like Made Confetti

I've been having fun the past few days just making artist trading cards.

There are about 4 left that I need to make in this collection.

Started them out with shades of blue using oxide inks.

Only other colors I'm using is orange, black, and white.

Just love orange and blue together.

The stamp set used for the ballet dancer is by Maggie Holmes.

Greeting is from Jane Davenport.

Don't think I'll be walking outside today as I normally do.

Bitterly cold out, and we got a bit of snow on the ground.

I'll be getting on the recumbent bike today.

Valentine Themed Artist Trading Cards

My Valentine themed artist trading cards for February.

Did something different by creating a fold. Thought

they turned out pretty cute.

I just realized that 2020 is a Leap Year.

Twenty nine days this month.

Wonder what I can do with an extra day this year?

Yesterday me, and hubby went to the movies. It was in the afternoon,

and we were the only ones in the theater to see Jumanji.

Wasn't as good as the last one with the Rock, but still pretty entertaining.

Can you believe we got into the 60's yesterday? Not as warm today, but

I still got out early to do some walking before the rain comes in this afternoon.

Valentine Binder mail from Kathleen

Today I'm going to share the beautiful binder mail that Kathleen made for me.

She made her binder as she is so talented. Yesterday I posted the one I made, but

I didn't actually make my binder.

Love the shaker she added on the front!

First page of embellishments.

Those little keys are so cute!

Kathleen made her envelopes too!

Inside holds more beautiful embellishments she made.

Next page has bows.

Next envelopes was holding these beauties!

Last page.

Check out the heart garland.

She signed the inside back cover. How special!

Thanks Kathleen. You artwork always amazes me!

Happy birthday to my mom Gladys who would have

been 88 years old today. Miss you.
