Mini Jelly Bean Slide Shakers

So earlier last week I found a very large box

of craft supplies that I had packed away for the move into my new Crafting

Chateau (almost two years ago now!)

Here is a view of that very large box I found.

Anyway....I found a set of three jelly bean pattern slides.

Wasn't sure what to do with them, but figured they had

been hiding out in that box way too long!

Decided to turn them into little shakers. Cute, cute, cute!

Also in that box I found four sets of mini Easter themed clear stamps.

Perfect to use for the inside of those slides.

I'm sure to be making more things from that "found" box of goodies!

Cricut Air 2 Machine Shaker Tags

I was playing around with my cricut air 2 machine the other day, and

ended up making some shaker tags.

Two tags were cut with the machine then I added acetate

to the center of the tags. Placed some foam tape around

the acetate added some small beads to create the shaker.

I also created several tags using pink cardstock.

Love how you can see through the tags.

To stamp around the outside while leaving the bunny unstamped

I cut out and extra tag cut out the bunny, and used that as a mask while

I was stamping. Worked perfect.

Alice in Wonderland Seed Packet Shaker

Someone gave me these seed packets last year.

Can't remember who now, anyway

I decided to try to turn one into a shaker card.

The envelope already had the clear window. I cut a small amount

off the top bottom, and left side of the packet. I also trimmed off

the flap.

I used ephemera from the Tim Hotlz Field Notes

collection. Didn't think I would ever use the mushrooms, but

they work perfect for Alice in Wonderland theme.

Ran the front side of the envelope with a cross stitch embossing folder.

Used foam strips to the back of the window to create the shaker.

Not going to use this on a card. I'm think it will go into a junk journal I'm

currently working on.

I See Many Presents....

While I was at Betty's on Friday I borrowed her

stamp set, and created this fun shaker birthday card.

The embossed bingo layer I've had in my stash for a long time.

Glad to be able to use up some of the stuff I have.

Made a large pot of vegetable soup this morning. I'm

planning on doing lots of crafting today!

An Unfortunate Ending Shaker Box Witch

My talented new daughter in law Emily drew this gorgeous witch.

I decided to use her drawing in a shaker box.

Had a little spill when I took off the lid to the stars, and dot sequins.

Had them all over my desk. Going to have to vacuum tomorrow.

Since the witch is standing over a boiling pot I decided

that she was cooking someone it in. The words at the bottom of the frame

read "an unfortunate ending".

Used up some things in my Halloween stash. The purple check wire ribbon is

gone. I've had it for years. So happy when I can use up supply.

Hubby took a tumble early this morning, and is pretty sore. He hurt his lower back.

Hoping he will recover soon. He is not use to sitting around.

Christmas in July Shadow Shaker Box

Christmas in July? Who's ready?

While I was doing the prep work for the shadow shaker boxes I found I

made an extra one.

Decided to take that box, and do a Christmas shaker.

Instead of using sequins I filled it with gold jingle bells. Then

added the twisted bow to the center.

I think it came out pretty darn cute.

Today I think I'll hit the craft stores. Don't need a thing of course

just like to look. May check out Catan's again to see if they have

dropped the prices more, or have received new stuff. Last time

I was there the clerk told me they were still getting new stuff in even though

they will be closing in a few months.

Who knows what I may find!

Shadow Shaker Boxes

Emily had a great time at her little party yesterday.

We did some crafting. Each of us made a shadow shaker box.

Everyone style is so different, and they turned out great!

This one made by the bride Emily. Glad I had some succulent paper she could use.

Sarah made a shaker to celebrate the 4th of July. Love the colors. She

put in some great charms as well.

Anne made this cute little girl with flowers shaker box. How sweet!

Halloween themed shaker box made by Caitlyn. She used

a piece of acetate that had a spider web printed on it. Detail didn't come

out well in the photo. Box looks wicked up close.

and of course I made a Paris themed box for my room.

Photo of all of us crafting. The girls had a blast going

through all my drawers, and supplies. I  think they were overwhelmed with

how much craft stuff I really have.

From the back, Sarah, Anne, Emily, and Caitlyn.

Had fun crafting, and teaching them yesterday. Hope to do

another crafting girls day soon!

Pink Santa Shaker Card

This card was made with mostly washi tape, and a little

bit of patterned paper.

Made the Santa shaker circle then glued it to the card.

I know its pink, but pink for Christmas is growing on me!

Oh my goodness I can't believe that today is the last

day of November. This month flew by!!!

So what happened on this day in history?

Lucy and Desi Arnaz were married in 1940.

They were married for 20 years.

In 1982 Michael Jackson's Thriller was released.

In 1835 Mark Twain was born.

In 2007 Evel Knievel died.

and today is National Stay at Home Because you are Well Day.

If I was still working I think I would take the day off. Still cold

out as well as being slippery. Warmed up just enough today to

melt the snow a bit, and of course there is still ice on the pavement.

Witchy Shaker

Back again with another Halloween card.

I had a shaker card made but it didn't turn out how I wanted.

Since it was a blank slate with just the black background I

tried to save it.

I added the web background with a stencil and white pigment ink.

The witch is a doll from Tim Holtz. I added the witch hat.

Rest of the decorations are also by Tim Holtz.

Inside view of the card.

It has been a rainy weekend as we are now getting the rain from tropical storm

Gordon. Good day to stay in and stamp. Yesterday we went

out for lunch then hit the mall and did some mall walking.

Hubby was sweet and got me a purse that I wanted from Macy's. I'll

post pics of that later.

Purple Butterfly Shaker Cards

I've been making shaker cards.

This one uses patterned paper called Lavender.

I added a smaller vellum butterfly on top of the window sheet then

added some small black pearls.

This one was made using a Darice butterfly embossing folder.

I used a butterfly punch to make the opening for the shaker.

I like the white on white look with just a little pop of purple sequins.

Had fun stamping at Betty's yesterday. I've been working on a large swap that

I joined. I'll be back tomorrow with some photos of that project.

Congrats to the Grads of 2018

We have an upcoming graduation party for

a friend of mine Eliz. We met while working at

the polls last year. Her youngest daughter Leah graduated

from Brunswick High. So big congrats Leah!

Our niece Autumn also graduated last Saturday.

I made the same card for her except her school colors are

kelly green, and black. I forgot to take a photo of it so

I could post, but Autumn really loved the card.

So congrats to her also.

The center of this card is a shaker. Filled with silver stars, and

silver micro beads. I used SU Large Number Framelits, and Star Framlit dies

to make the card.

John and Emily are moved into their new apartment. We

were able to use the van yesterday and get both of them moved from home.

Had a little problem with the van. The back driver side tire decided it was going to blow.

We caught it in time, and turned around so hubby could change it in the driveway.

Good thing we did as it had just started to rain. He showed me the tire. There was a

really big bulge in it.

Hope everyone enjoys this beautiful weekend!

Look Ma no Stamping Shaker Card

Made this butterfly shaker card with some leftover pattern paper.

Cut a small window where I wanted to create the shaker.

The lower butterfly was cut out twice. First one was popped

over the printed one on the layer. The next one was attached only

in the center with glue dots.

You can see in this photo how that added a 3d effect to the butterfly.

Yesterday was a lot cooler than the past two days. I had to break out my

winter coat again (can you believe that!) When I took my walk. My head

has been clogged up for days now with all the pollen in the air. Never use to have

allergies, but since I'm older I developed them. Another thing to love about getting older.....

NOT.

Sending a shout out to my friend Lisa who has been in pain due to migraines. Hoping

you get to feeling better soon Lisa!

Let's Get Together and Wine Shaker Card

Here is another shaker card that I made this morning.

Love the wine glasses!

The glass came from Fiskars Aged to Perfection stamp set.

The greeting is from Hampton laugh out loud stamps.

When I was designing the card I set up three small windows just

for the cut out part of the wine glass. I wanted each glass

to show some of the purple beads when the card was standing up.

Had fun with this one. Wanted to make some more but the foam strips

made by Darice, but they were out of stock at Pat Catan's when I went there

yesterday afternoon. Actually it was a big mistake going to Catan's. The

crafters that are in for Adventures in Rubber Stamping had the store packed!!!!!

Reminded me of when my friends would come in a group to visit, and bought lots

of things at the store. I miss those days.

So speaking of the craft show tomorrow is the big day. I'm sure Betty, and I will

have a blast.  Lots to see, and buy!

I'll be back on Monday with a report on the show, how much I spent, and what I bought!

Time for Shakers

Got together with Betty yesterday afternoon, and made

some shaker cards.

I used a paper pack that I found at Hobby Lobby called Lavender.

Stamp set and matching die from Sizzix.

This one features a set of dolls from Tim Holz. I had

to add the big bow in the girl's hair. They wore them that way right?

and the last one. Isn't she just too cute? I think

I should have added a few more sequins to the shaker. Sometimes

it is hard to tell how much to add.

Me and Betty are counting down the days till the weekend.

We are going to Adventures in Stamping show. Won't be long now.

They hold the event in Akron which is not to far from where I live.

Such a large and fun craft show. Today at some point I need to head to the

post office, then to Costco. After that I think I'll be back to stamping as I have

to make a bunch of thank you cards that a friend requested. Busy, busy!

Bumble in a Snow Globe

The Bumble is from the Ink-a-dink-do set

that I used on the gift tags I posted yesterday.

Just adore him! Super cute.

I knew right away that I wanted to use him

in a snow globe.

Base card is white, layer and globe is

Tempting Turquoise. The base

of the globe is Chocolate Chip cardstock.

I thought he came together pretty well.

So today is Christmas Eve, Eve.

Skip has the day off. Not sure of our plans.

I may venture out and shop a bit. Getting

cabin fever. Wish my cold would be over already.

Its not getting worse, but it is nagging me.

Hope everyone has a great day, and enjoy

the magical season.

Shaker Swap

Last month I signed up to be in a shaker card swap

with the Midwest Stampers. Just got the returned swaps yesterday.

Like this one. Cut little froggys!

Pretty in pink. Looks like there are lots of sprinkles on those cupcakes.

One of my favorites. Butterfly Kisses greeting in the center panel.

Very cute!

Another pretty in pink one. This one was done with think foam so

there is a lot of bling inside and it shakes really well.

And we have a birthday shaker. Like the bugle beads. Lets

celebrate and light another candle!

This was a fun swap. I guess I must be in a swapping mood as

I signed up for a flip bag swap. What's a flip bag? I'll let

you know soon as I make one!

Elephant Balloon Shakers

I'm going swap happy!

I joined another swap. This one is for shaker cards.

Since I have the fuse tool these were quick and easy to make.

The elephant stamp was given to me by my friend Kat.

First I stamped the elephant on basic gray layer, and

used a 1 1/4 circle punch to make the balloon shape.

I hand drew the balloon string.

Made a custom defusser so I could run the layer through the happy

birthday folder without embossing the elephant image.

and see the jar? I found a metal band to use around the top

of the mini mason jar so I could display cards. I filled it with sequins.

Pretty happy how it turned out.

Shaker Mason ATC

Look what I made!

I signed up for an ATC (artist trading card) swap, and just finished

making them yesterday.

Got to use my new mason jar punch. It was a perfect fit on the 3 1/2 x 2 1/2 cardstock.

Stamp sets used: Swallowtail, Timeless Textures, and Wetlands.

So happy that I bought the Fuse Tool. It is so wonderful for making shaker cards.

Here is a view of the front and back of the card.

Colors used: Marina Mist, Soft Suede, Pink Pirouette, Old Olive, and white.

Shaker is filled with one sequin butterfly, and clear, and gold beads.

Hope the other swappers in the group love how these turned out as much as I do.

Cowboy Shaker Card, and Snow!

Yup....let it snow alright!!! I woke up to blanket of snow yesterday morning.

The snow inspired this card. The stamp was given to me years ago. Since I'm

longing to go to TX and get warm the cowboy snowman warmed my heart if

not my hands!

I also got to play with a new tool I bought.

Haven't made shaker cards in years, and let me tell you Fuse tool is wonderful!

I simply used a page protector and cut it to the pocket size I needed then used

the tool to seal up the cut sides. It is awesome!!!! Think I'm going to be making

lots of shakers!

Here is a side view of the card. I did use some foam tape around the edges so

the shaker would move better. With the sealed pocket you don't have to

worry about anything getting out, and you don't have to use foam tape all the way around.

I wanted to give the card a clean look so I only stamped the snowman and greeting on the front

Along one long side I stamped a few snowflakes. And speaking of flakes........

This was the view from my kitchen window yesterday morning.

Just beautiful!

Pine tree is covered and the branches were drooping from the weight.

We got an additional 3 inches of snow, but the good news its suppose to all

be melted soon.

Yes this about sums up Ohio weather. I was really hoping for that Dragon on Friday

as he would have heated the place up a bit,

and I'll be watching the skies today for the UFO's!
