Ornaments

I'm back today with more goodies I received. 

For today's post I've grouped all the new ornaments. 

The sparkly elephant is from Lisa. Love him! 

Sailor hat from Marianne. Skip really liked this one. I did to

just adorable!

Santa is made using the flat part of the mason jar lid. 

And the burlap wreath made using the rings of a mason jar lid. 

Both made by Kat. They are great! 

Snowman hat made by Connie. So cute!

I went to Michael's this afternoon and managed to 

drop 42.00 dollars on just Christmas clearance items. 

Got lots of supplies to use for next year's flipbags, pocket letters, 

and other swaps. So I feel I got a great start. 

It was freaky warm yesterday. Got up into the 60's.

I went out and took a long walk through the neighborhood. 

So nice getting out in the fresh air. 

Tomorrow I think I'll start taking down the tree.

Ornament, and More Swaps

Hubby got me this cute little sewing machine ornament

last week when we were at JoAnn's. 

It has a pink top and I think it will work

well on my Barbie tree. Which

I didn't put up again this year. 

We opted to put up the large tree. 

Reason....I still don't trust Cherokee with 

the Barbie tree. If she were to knock it down my

Hallmark Barbie ornaments would break and that

would make me very sad. So hopefully next year

I'll be able to put it up. 

I received this cute Christmas pocket letter

 

from my birthday  twin Cindy a few days ago. 

So festive! Thanks Cindy! 

I also received a Christmas theme grab bag from 

Caryn. She filled the stocking with the crafting goodies. 

Lots of little misc fun things to craft with. 

 

So today I'm going to finish putting up the 

 

decorations. Then I have some

 

more crafting to do, and sometime today

 

I'd like to go Pat Catan's and Michaels. 

 

At least I won't have to cook. I have a ton of 

 

turkey noodle soup, and other leftovers. 

 

I'll have time to do some things I need and want to do!

Wine Cork Angels

I'm back with more angels. 

This time I used some wine corks. 

The lace burlap twine is leftover from Sarah's wedding decor. 

I just tied the ribbon into a bow and glued on the back of the cork to make the wings.

I made a loop from jute to make the hanger/halo. This

one was made with a strip of burlap ribbon for the wings. 

I added bows at the neckline for both then just added some embellishments to the center. 

I'm planning to make more using the in line lace ribbon. I think the 

mustard colored ribbon would look great for a halo.

Mini Angels

Back with more angels. 

These are roughly 3 1/4 inch circles. 

I ran them off on cardstock then used embossing folders to

add texture. 

And because I know my readers will want to know how I did that 

here is the link to the blog I found them on.

Here is a view of the one I stamped. I used Whisper White cardstock, but

I'm sure designer paper would work as well. I didn't get a chance to

make those. 

Side view. I took a length of ribbon and knotted it then 

slide it through the top to make the hanger.

Scallop Circle Angels

I have some angels to share with you today. 

These were made using the largest scallop circle in the Circle Collection framelits. 

I also used retired under the tree designer paper. 

Here is how the scallop circle is cut. Think a a peace sign when marking and cutting. 

Back view of how the skirt and wings are attached. I used Tombo Glue. 

Here is another one I made. The head is vanilla that was punched with 1 1/4 circle

punch. The small foil doilies are perfect for the halos. 

Then I just added a string for hanging. 

I can't believe I'm 55 today! Where does the time go?

I'm double nickle, or the old 55 speed limit sign. LOL

Many Merry Stars Kit

Let me start by saying that I don't normally purchase craft kits. 

That being said you will get an idea of how much I love the

new kit in the SU supplement. Its called 

Many Merry Stars and comes with lots of stuff to 

make some fun star decorations. 

What first drew me to this kit was these wooden snowflakes. 

Just loved the rustic look. 

Other things in the kit as well were appealing to me. 

There are many different embellishments that are included, and

the best part is that all the adhesive for the side panels of the stars are

already on! All I had to do was remove them and add the top and bottom star. 

Kit also has die cut words to use. These are very well cut, and punch 

out from the backing very easy. I was amazed! 

I put one star together just using what was in the kit. 

But you can use other embellishments you have on hand or even 

do some stamping on them. 

See the word wishes? It is done on gold glimmer paper. There 

are even glimmer paper stars to put together. 

With the different sizes, embellishments and ease of use I'm 

very happy I broke down and ordered a kit!

Vintage Post Card Ornament

I got to used another new stamp! This one is called Post Card (its a background stamp)

I inked it with Baked Brown Sugar and stamped it on Vanilla cardstock. 

Greeting is from More Merry Messages and was inked with Cherry Cobbler. 

Snow flake from Festive Flurry. Inked and stamped on Coastal Cabana.

Victoria lace was gathered across the bottom using red line tape. 

I backed the finished stamped piece with chipboard and then added Baked Brown Sugar cardstock to the back of the chipboard to finish it off. Used natural trim ribbon for the hanger and as an accent with the snowflake. Cherry Cobbler ribbon retired now. I wanted to use Cherry Cobbler seam binding but wouldn't you know it.....I'm out! 

I think I've been stamping a lot lately and am running through all my supplies. I feel an order coming on!!!!
