Winter Themed Julie Nutting Tag

Well my friend Kathleen received her winter themed tag

that I made for her so I can post it to my blog now.

I wanted it to be a surprise and since she visits my blog I had

to wait.

I love how this one turned out. The snowflakes are from

a die that SU had how years ago. Some of them are also

from a punch.

The top of the dress was done with navy blue micro beads.

Hard to see in the photo, but that is what I used.

The lace is from the "stash". Green/blue snowflakes

were all on one sheet of designer paper that I just

cut apart so I could use them on the tag. Have to tell

you I'm having a blast going through an using all my hidden

treasures from the craft room that I forgot I had.

I think if I never bought another craft item I would

still have enough supplies that I could keep making things.....

hey this is off the record. Please don't tell my hubby that I said that!

Mailable Monday #181

Look mom no layers.

After the images were stamped I

colored them in with primsa pencils.

I spent yesterday cleaning. Joy!

Not really, but it had to be done.

Later in the day me and hubby went to

visit grandma Katie. We took

her McDonalds for dinner. She enjoyed that!

So excited our new front door is being installed.

I'm a little worried about the red door I picked out.

Skip let me, so now I'm having second thoughts. Keeping

my fingers crossed that we both will love it.

We got snow yesterday. While we were driving on the freeway at

one point it was snowing so hard it was a white out. Looks

like we are in for some colder temps and more snow.

Guess I better bundle up tomorrow for the new door to be put in.

I'll have to wear my coat in the house!

Year of the Rooster

Posting some more things for Chinese New Year.

These are little treat boxes I got years ago. Made by Basic Grey.

They are just too cute! Will go great in some Easter baskets.

The bottom has the opening to put a goodies inside.

I like how the paper has some embossed details.

Hey chick! Since the feathers were still on my desk from

an earlier project I used them on the center chicken. Her

tail feathers got cut off when I punch it out with a circle punch.

I thought it was only fair to give her new ones.

I got the idea to use some of the accessories from Crazy Birds

on the Hey Chick set.

Inside card view.

Love the bunny ears.

I stamped Easter, but I had to hand write is coming.

Play on Games of Thrones-Winter is Coming.

Well there you have it. My tribute to the Year of the Rooster.

Off to the mall today with hubby. May take in a movie, and get

some lunch.

Happy Chinese New Year!

That's right today is Chinese New Year, and

it is the year of the Rooster!

Hubby will be happy about that as he was born in the year of the rooster.

Thanks Kat for getting me the Hey Chick set from SU. Love it!

I know I wanted to make some fun things with.

Found the feathers in my feather drawer....yes I have a small drawer

that I keep feathers in....doesn't everyone? LOL

The is made using different punches. And see the fence?

That is a new die I got from spellbinders. I got it to use on

doll tags, but I couldn't wait to use it on something.

I used another die on this one. Can't remember that name but

its by Tim Holtz.

Here is a closer look at the chick clip.

I have some more rooster and chick projects, but I'm going

to post them tomorrow. If I had put them all on one post you would

be scrolling for a long time! Enjoy your weekend!

I'm going out for Chinese today....well I guess you saw that coming!

Froggy Wants a Kiss

So here are the ATC's that I made for February.

Love the cute cute little frog wanting to be kissed.

All of these are "found" stamps. They

were in a box of stamps I have, and most of them

were 1.00 stamp sets that were purchased at Michael's.

We got some snow yesterday. More falling now.

Guess winter is reminding us that she is here.

Think we all got spoiled over the last few weeks when

it was warmer. Oh well!

Tomorrow is the Chinese New Year. Be

sure to stop by and check out the blog as

I'll have things that I made just for this occasion.

Warm Wishes Card, and Tag

Yes I got a new Julie Nutting set the other day.

This one is Warm Wishes.

Love her!

While rummaging through some cardstock I stumbled

on a stack of different colored mulberry paper.

Remember when that was so popular in card making?

I pulled out some light blue and white as I thought it

would really soften and warm up this winter themed card.

The tree in the back is made from a Tim Hotlz thinlit.

Here is an inside view of the card.

I also created this tag using the same set.

Check out the flower. It was made with different sizes of scallop

circle punches. I added some clear wink of Stella to the flower edges.

Cold and rainy yesterday so I stayed in and made a big stock pot full

of chicken noodle soup. I had made chicken the day before and chopped

up the leftovers to throw in the soup.

I took on a big project yesterday afternoon. I'm going through

all my designer paper and grouping them into colors. All the blues,

reds, pinks, greens....well you get the idea. I have a lot of paper so

this will take me some time. I'm only doing the 12x12 paper this way.

The 6x6 paper packs will stay as they are.

January ATC Just Chillin'

So I was going back through photos and I

forgot to share the January ATC I made.

The chick was stamped on yellow patterned designer paper.

Coloring was done with prisma pencils.

Hat trim, and boot trim was touched up with

clear wink of Stella.

Made 12. Now I have to get busy

and make ATC for February. Can't believe how fast January is going by!

Dress Form Valentine Flip Bag

Made another little Valentine flip bag.

Making these things can be so addictive!

Here is a close view of the pocket.

I used Stampin'Up retired dress framlits to make the little

dress.

So it was cold wet and yuck yesterday, so I made brownies.

I haven't baked since making all the Christmas cookies.

I know they don't look that good, but they are! Made from scratch using

only 5 ingredients.

1/2 cup flour
1 cup sugar
1/3 cup cocoa powder
1/2 cup melted salted butter
2 eggs.

Preheat oven to 350

Mix first 3 ingredients in bowl

In another bowl mix the butter and eggs.

Add the butter and egg mixture to the dry and stir till

just combined. Spray 9x9 pan with cooking spray. Spread

batter into the pan...FYI the batter will be pretty thick.

Bake 25 minutes.  Cool and enjoy!

Mailable Monday #180

Yee Haw!

Meet Becky.

She was one of the first JN dolls I bought, and

I never used her. Shame on me.....

and then what do I do? I cut off her head

and stick her on a card. LOL

I'll be back soon with another project using all of Becky.

I do like this card. It has attitude.

The greeting is from a Ranger stamp set.

The cowgirl boots and hat were stamped on a suede like paper.

So we had a warm weekend. Even today its suppose to be in the 50's.

Gotta love that for this time of the year. I'm just waiting

for the other shoe to drop as I know it will. Skip is still hoping

for a snow day. I told him to keep dreaming as I don't think it will happen.

It was Warm!

My cat Cherokee being very lazy.

We had record breaking temps yesterday. It got up to 62 degrees!

Now that is just unheard of in Ohio in January.

So nice to be able to go outside and enjoy being warm.

We went out to lunch at Ruby Tuesdays then

we went to the gun show at fair grounds.

I did get some crafting in, but I can't post what I'm working

on. Its for a swap and since the person I'm making it for

follows my blog, and I'd like her to be surprised I'll have

to wait till later to post.

I see more crafting in my future today, and vacuuming.

There is a ton of little pieces of cardstock, and other things the carpet

in the craft room.

John started back to school this week. Not to much longer for

him he'll be finished in May.

Hope everyone enjoys the day!

Valentine Tag

Received another swap. This Valentine tag was

made by Debbie. So cute!

She also sent a few little extras.

The little paper doll Valentine girl with the outfits

is just adorable. Thanks Debbie!

I bought two new dies at Michael's.

Love the mixing set. I think these will go great on a tag

with one of the Julie Nutting dolls I have. With a 40% off coupon it

was only 6.00 dollars.

The set on the right was on clearance for 3.49.

So not a bad sale. I also got a pack of designer paper for

70% off. They had the paper in the wrong location and it was

to be 30% off but after I talked to the manager they gave it to me at

70%. So a 20 dollar pack of paper cost me 6 bucks. Score!

Didn't do much yesterday as it rained all day.

I did spend some time in the crafting space trying to clean

it up, but most of the day I was curled up with a good book, and

watching tv. Ah such is the life!

Snowman Themed Pocket Letter with Tea Light Candle

Well here is the completed snowman themed pocket letter.

I'm super happy with how this one turned out.

The center snowman is made with a flameless tea light candle.

I had to put a hole in the pocket so the switch for the light

could be turned on and off.

Here is a side photo. I took this photo with the tea light turned on

but it doesn't show up well in the lighted room.

Close up of the top three pockets.

Center pockets.

Bottom pockets.

Hope Mary likes this one. Speaking of Mary I received her swap earlier in the week.

She made a large snowman and attached to the front of the letter.

He is so cute!

Cute Doll Cards

In the flip back I got from Kathleen there were some flower die cuts.

She said she bought the die at Hobby Lobby while visiting AZ over the holidays.

Since I had these sweet little girls I thought they would look

great with the flower edging.

And here is another card with a thanks greeting on it.

I love the die Kathleen! I think you will be able to use

it for standard A2 cards, and I think it would look good on a tag. You would

just have to cut it down a bit. Speaking of cutting it down I did trim the

bottom edge of these about 1 inch in order to have them work with the dolls.

I received this beautiful Valentine flipbag from my

friend Kathleen. Isn't is just stunning!

Love the stickers! The package has 3 different sheets of them.

Love the lace rosette and other goodies!

Wanted to show how pretty the bag was decorated while it was empty.
