Distress Oxide Stamped Envelopes

 I've been into making decorative envelopes lately. 

The group I'm posting today I made for a private swap with my friend Deb. 

For all of them I used Tim Holtz distress oxide inks. 

This one has some stamping done using SU retired Botanical set. 

The coloring on the flower was done with more distress oxides using a 

small paint brush with water. 

Love these lady images! They are stamped with Jet Black StazOn ink. 

Added washi tape that has vintage cameras on it. Perfect addition with

the lady stamps, and I also added a black script washi tape. 

This one is a bit on the funky side, but I love it. Done

mostly in shades of red. 

Saying on this one is too funny "you'll always be my friend, you know too much"!

LOL

Really in love with this Washi tape girl! Of

course I used lots of different washi tapes to decorate it. 

I also decorated some window business size envelopes. 

Done in blues, and rust. This is a beautiful carousel stamp. 

Dancing in the rain. I used a multi line stamp with blue ink

and dragged it on angle to make the rain. 

This one is a Tim Holtz stamp set. The butterflies were

stamped using leaf green archival ink. 

Well that is all for today. I've been a busy girl!

Good news on our countertop. The install has been moved from the 16th to the 6th of July.

I can't wait to have a kitchen again. Been over a month already.

Starlets, and Master Board

 Just working on a few embellishments. 

I'm really just trying to use some of the stuff I have. 

I found the movie camera die while sorting through some stuff. 

Someone must have sent it to me, as I don't have a die like this. 

Did a search online, and found the RKO logo. The vintage

girl reminds me of starlets that were in RKO pictures. 

Another starlet themed card I made. 

The base is a time card that I inked with distress oxides. 

Smaller one is a memorydex card. 

These are from a smaller master board that I made yesterday. 

Two journal cards, and a tag. Inking was done on onion skin paper. Which

is very thin paper that has a crinkly feel to it. I backed the piece on cream card stock.

The kitchen remodel is going so slowly. The house is a complete mess. 

The only safe haven I have is the "Crafting Chateau"

Teabag Collage

Well this is something new for me collaged teabags. 

All winter I've been saving, and drying out the teabags

from my daily cups of tea. 

Knew I could open them up and have them flat to use

in my junk journals. 

The collage work is sandwiched in between two layers of teabags. 

First I put one on the table then found some images I liked. 

Layered them up to make a collaged piece. 

Once I was happy with the layout I adhered them

to the teabag using Tim Holtz vintage collage medium. 

Went around the images with some walnut distress stain just

to add some depth to the collage. 

After adding another layer of the collage medium over the top the

second teabag went over it. Used the brush and more medium to seal. 

So happy with them. Want to make some more but

I don't have anymore vintage portraits to use. 

Thinking that I could add more embellishments to this. 

Maybe some pearls, lace, or ribbon along the bottom edge. 

Only a day and a wake up till I'm off to the stamping convention in 

Akron. Can't wait to spend the day with my friend Betty, and

find some crafting treasures at the show!

Playing Around with Master Boards

 I've been working on master boards. 

Took a 12x12 sheet of pattern paper that I didn't really like or thought

I would ever use for this masterboard. 

Next step was to cover the entire thing with scrap paper. Just bits and

pieces I had in my scrap bins. 

To attach the scraps I used modge podge that I added a bit of water to just

to make it thinner. I find it easier to brush on with a foam brush when it is not so thick. 

After the modge podge was dry I added a bit of stamping. 

The images where then colored with Prisma pencils. 

Here is the first master board I made. Haven't cut this one apart yet. 

Trying to figure out how I can scan this size, or find someplace that will make

prints of 12x12 paper. Please let me know of any place that can do this. Thanks! 

I'll be back tomorrow with another master board, and will show how I cut it apart. 

These pieces will be used for junk journaling.

Book Page Snippit Roll

 I'm back with another snippit roll that I made yesterday. 

I was having some trouble with trying to decorate a long strip of

paper so I approached this one differently. 

Started with a cash register receipt that I cut to measure 2 x 18 inches. 

Next I adhered book pages to cover the white cash receipt. 

I then wanted to add some color so I used distress oxide ink randomly leaving

parts of the book page un-inked. 

Then instead of looking at the entire inked piece I sectioned it

off and only focused on 3 1/2 inches at a time. Much

easier for me to work in smaller sections. 

I'm happier working this way. Not as over whelmed with all that

blank space. 

Going to get my first Covid vaccine shot this morning.

Dragonfly Paper Napkin Tag

 Back with another tag I made this week. 

Started out the same way as the sewing theme tag that I posted yesterday.

Just love all the beautiful paper napkins! 

Most of the ones I have I picked up on clearance at Tuesday Morning. 

Others were swapped, and or gifted to me. 

I liked using the sewing machine around the edges of the tags. 

I alternated from straight stitch to zig-zag. 

To the tab on top I added cheesecloth, lace, and a vintage button. 

Button was threaded with hemp and tied in a knot before being attached

to the top of the tag. 

The ephemera pieces are by Tim Hotlz. 

See that little wooden butterfly at the top right? I got

a package of them to add to my shakers cards, but never used them for 

that purpose. Works pretty good as an accent to this tag. I also added some purple

sequins. Just for sparkle.

Vintage Sewing Themed Tag with Napkins

 This is a sewing themed mixed media tag I made yesterday afternoon. 

Lots going one here. Started with a piece of cream cardstock.

I added a book page to it then clipped the top corners to make it into a tag. 

Next step was to add some using distress oxide inks. 

Next layer was paper napkins. Those were added with the

help of modge podge. 

After that dried I did the stitching around the edges. 

The vintage photo is from Tim Hotlz photo booth collection. 

I used a dried teabag over the woman image again using modge podge. 

Top and bottom of the torn teabag edges were stamped with script. 

Sewing machine and dress form are thinlit dies. 

Added some lace, vintage buttons, and cheesecloth. 

The greeting on the tag was drawn for me using the cricut air 2 machine.  

At the top I added a tab, and to that I added some cheescloth,

lace, and vintage button. 

Very happy with how this one came out. 

Will be making some more tags!

Snippit Paper Roll

Since I started getting addicted to junk journals I'm 

making more paper scraps than ever! 

What to do? 

Found a video on You Tube showing how to make a paper snippit roll. 

Okay so what is that? 

I think of it as a crazy quilt except instead of using fabric you

use bits, and pieces of paper scraps. 

For the base I used a cash register roll that I picked up at Hollo's

paper store last week. They were actually giving a stack of them away

for free! So I got about 10 of them. 

After I glued down all the bits, and pieces I ran three rows of stitching

down the piece using my sewing machine. I think you can

skip this step as the glue holds all the pieces down, but I like

the look the stitching gives. 

So I'm sure the next question is how will you use this? 

The idea is to cut or tear off pieces from the strip, and

use them for pockets or side bars in junk journals. I 

know I'm going to be making lots of these, as they

are relaxing to make!!!!! This girl loves

collage, and shabby chic plus I have lots of scraps

so this is a project with my name all over it!

Coffee Themed Homemade Stickers

Do it yourself coffee themed stickers. 

These were made using label sheets that I got at Office Supply. 

Only thing you have to keep in mind when making these is to 

use smaller stamps. 

This was made using even small sized labels. 

Been raining the past two days. Looking forward

to a dyer day. Still have been able to catch an hour

each day to get some walking in. 

Went to Michael's yesterday morning, and got

some hot buy paper pads that were on sale for 4.99. 

Picked up four of them. Didn't see much else. 

They changed some stuff in the paper crafting dept. 

Almost all the stamps are gone. Lots of stuff on

clearance, but the clearance prices I thought were still to 

high. 

Going to Betty's today. Hubby is going to cut down two 

trees for her. They are smaller trees, and shouldn't take to long to cut.

Shabby Chic Collage Stickers

I got some confetti colored stickers from Hollo's last week, 

and used them to make some shabby chic collage embellishments. 

I thought I could use them for cards, or

envelope seals. 

Planning on making some Christmas theme ones. 

To get started I used a doily stencil with  brown ink. 

Then I just started randomly stamping with vintage looking stamps

using different ink colors

This is only half the sheet of stickers. I cut it in half so I wouldn't

be overwhelmed with all that blank space. 

Here is another card I made using the finished stickers. 

Fun to make these sheets. Perfect for when I don't know what to make, 

and just want to do some collage work.

Collage With Love

Playing around with some collage stamping this morning. 

Just trying to use some of the many embellishments I have

in my stash. 

Flower die cut by Tim Hotlz. 

Stamps are by Nola Blake imports. Lots

of vintage stamps in the set, and perfect for collage work. 

Gathered some cream lace with a black safety pin, and

 

added that to the dress makers doll image. 

 

 

 

Stopped at Pat Catan's yesterday while running around with my friend Eliz. 

 

Bought all these stamps for 2.50 cents. I'm going to miss that store when it closes.

High Heels

Playing with a stamp set I bought last week. Called Runway by

Tim Holtz. Love all the models in this set. 

Greeting is from a stamp set by Dylusions called Say it how it is. 

I had some burlap that I added for a texture layer. 

Little shoe charm was added just for fun, and speaking of fun...

Had fun yesterday at the craft show in Midpark with Betty. 

It was a long shopping day for me. We also went to A.C. Moore, and Tuesday Morning. 

I was overly tired as I didn't get much sleep the night before. 

Made up for that last night as I slept 9 hours. Feeling a bit better

today. Got lots of happy mail from friends, and swappers yesterday.

I'll be posting those throughout the week.

Little Pink Vintage Girl Card

We got to spend lots of time with John and Emily over the weekend. 

 

Saturday we all went out to our favorite Chinese buffet. 

 

Sunday they came back over for a cookout. Of course

 

we had to eat cake. I made him one for his birthday. 

 

Emily's mom Anne sent me a box of crafting goodies. I used

 

some of them to make today's card. 

 

 

I just love those little girls! So cute. The box was filled with lots of trims, and

doilies, so I know I'll have fun working with them.

Please Pass the Wine

Spent yesterday afternoon with Betty, and we got some stamping done. 

This set is from Fiskars call Aged to Perfection. 

Wine bottle and glass were first colored then fussy cut, and popped on the 

grape layer. 

and one more using the same set. 

I also took the glitter pieces that I made at the Technique Junkies booth, and turned

them into full cards. 

Just love the stencil I used to create this one. 

and the doily flower piece I turned into a birthday card. 

I think I was a little heavy handed when I used the stencil with the glitter on this one. 

Looks like some of the paste went under the stencil. Told you me and glitter don't mix!

Journey in Collage

Went a bit collage on this card. 

Everything is stamped on a piece of designer paper. 

I picked up the paper last year while in TN to view the 

eclipse. Purchased at AC Moore, called Nostalgia. 

Stamps are by Tim Holtz called Little Things. 

Jet Black Archival Ink....on a side note I love this ink! 

Journey is a from a See-D's set.

I didn't do much of anything yesterday. My knee was bugging me. 

Think I'm not use to riding the recumbent bike and I may have

over did it. It is way to cold to walk outside now, so I'm trying to 

keep active on the bike.

Need to go to the post office today, and maybe visit the mall just to get some

walking in my day. While I'm there I think I'll stop by Starbucks for coffee....hey

 

it's cold out there!

Bring on the Rays

Love how this card turned out! 

I'm still in summer mode as its very hot, and sunny here. 

The background was made using Tim Holtz layering stencil. This

one is called Ray. 

The ends of the rays were sponged with Crushed Curry ink. As

The rays got closer to the sun I sponged with Cajun Craze ink. 

The single flower stamp is an old one from Stampendous!. Name of the stamp is

Agapanthus Cluster.

You can still get this stamp at local craft stores. I've seen them still being sold.

Must still be popular.

Not much else going on in our little Suburb. We

are still working with the garden. This time of the year is busy!

The tomatoes are ripe so I have to put them up for winter.

Still have green beans I put up another three quarts yesterday.

I will be glad when the garden is finished so I can take a rest, and

have more time to stamp!

Kinda Eclectic Butterfly Card

Now this card screams eclectic! 

I used Kinda Eclectic, and Timeless Textures stamp set. 

Several different ink colors were used. 

Cajun Craze, Sahara Sand, Crushed Curry, Always Artichoke, Smoky 

Slate, and Basic Gray. 

So here is what happens when I can't decide

if I want a, gray, or white butterfly in the corner.....

I use use them both. 

I layered them together using mini pot dots in between each one. 

Well August is flying by really quick.

The kids in our school system went back today! 

Can you believe that? I remember being a kid (which

is really hard because it was eons ago!) going

back to school after Labor Day. So most years it was the 1st week

of September before we went back. Times do change...don't they?
