To a Classic My Hubby

This is a card I made for hubby's birthday. Skip is 58 today.

Happy Birthday Honey!

Stamp set Guy Greetings

Washi tape, and Memento Tuxedo Black ink used. Oval

framelits, and lots of pop dots.

Skip has to work but I'm making him a special dinner when he comes home for

his "lunch". I had my son pick him up a cake.

Since the schools were closed on Tuesday due to the extreme wind chills, they

will have to make up that day. The schools have had 6 days off due to either snow

or cold. Been a tough winter.

March is on the way, and Spring is right around the corner, so I'm hoping for

warmer weather soon.

I've been taking it easy, just doing some light house work, and reading a bit.

I haven't been in the mood to stamp much lately. I think I'm getting cabin

fever, and just depressed over the knee thing. Tired of being in pain and being

limited in what I can do for myself. Even the simplest thing like showering has

become an ordeal. I'm always worried about falling.

Okay enough doom and gloom. Think I'll force myself to do something positive today.

Mailable Monday # 99

# 99! We have almost reaching 100 Mailable Mondays!

WOW!

Base card Baked Brown Sugar, White Doily layer, Crumb Cake layer stamped

with Early Espresso. Feather stamped on Hello Honey  cardstock with Hello Honey ink.

Stamp set Lovely Amazing You. Background stamp Something Lacy.

It was another cold bitter morning. We had some snow over the weekend.

Not much else going on today. I won't need to cook as we had take out on Sunday and

there are leftovers. Love it when I don't need to cook.

Got on the scale Sunday morning. I'm still at 175. Only 2 more pounds to go

till I've lost 100. It is so hard to lose weight in the winter months when all you

want to do is eat comfort food. I'm going to try harder this week. Goal for the week

is to eat more veggies and lean protein.

Hello Sunshine Card

Well we are still here in Ohio freezing. Been so cold that the schools were closed on Thursday and

Friday. Good thing we didn't have to go out anywhere.

Today's card is CASE from a card in the Spring Occasions catalog.

I used the Artisan kit, Hello thinlits, Crazy about you stamp set, and some lace.

Base card Crisp Cantaloupe, with layers of black, and Sahara Sand.

I got my appointments set up for gel shots in my left knee.

Those will start in March. I'm hoping by getting the shots it will ease the pain in the left

knee so I'll be able to walk better after I get the right knee replaced at the end of March.

Not much else going on here. Skip has a cold, but seems to be getting better.

I think I'm getting it now. Joy!

You make my heart Happy

Just a simple card today featuring a new stamp set from SU!

White is the base card. Crisp Cantaloupe layer using the envelope stamp

and the little heart stamped with Cherry Cobbler.

I added a doily to stamp the greeting on.

I'm making cheesy spaghetti for dinner tonight.

YUM! It's perfect for a cold Winter day. I know Spring is coming,

but some days when we have single digits it makes it seem farther away!

Mailable Monday # 98

Late with today's post. John was borrowing my camera so I had to wait to post.

Stamp set Butterfly Basics.

Colors: Old Olive, Black, Melon Mambo, and Pink Pirouette.

It was really cold this morning - 3 degrees. BRRRR.

If Skip didn't already have the day off for Presidents Day I'm sure the schools

would have closed due to the cold.

I'm trying to clean up my craft room. What a mess.

This morning I cleaned the stove top which was also a mess! Story of

my life lately just a big mess!!!!

Snow, Lasagna, and Valentine's Day

I got lots of photos to share today.

Here are the salt and pepper elephants I told you about yesterday.

Here they are with the trunks apart.

And with there bodies together. The sides are flat so they can stand side to side.

Our lasagna came out really good yesterday. Had fun making it with hubby.

If you look close on the left hand side you will see a bit of yellow. That is American cheese.

Hubby likes it on his, so we only put it on one half.

We got Valentine's Day snow. It was snowing so hard yesterday morning that

it was a white out. I couldn't see the other side of the street from the upstairs window because it

was snowing so hard. I felt bad for Sarah and Jason as they were going to go out, but due

to the snow they spent the day in, and spent time shoveling. I need to get them a snow thrower.

Sarah did make chicken co don bleu for their dinner. She said Jason got her flowers and candy.

Speaking of Sarah and Jason....they didn't win the Valentine photo contest in the local paper, but they

did receive the second highest number of votes for our city. So that was pretty cool!

I don't know if you can see the temp clearly on this but Skip wanted to take a photo. He has

the thermometer attached to the fence outside the front door.

and the last photo I have to share today is Cherokee. She'll be

one year old next month. Such a pretty little girl!

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day!

Thanks to my friend Kat for making our family these cute treat bags using

one of the SU Paper Pumpkin kits. Love them!

And can you say YUM? Got this boxes of chocolate covered cherries from dear hubby.

Malley's makes some good chocolate.

I also received a set of salt and pepper shakers from Skip.

I'll have to take a picture of them to post later. They are two elephants that

have there trunks entwined.

Not going out anywhere this weekend. We are in the single digits and let me

tell you it is really cold!!!!!

Hubby and me are going to make a pan of lasagna for dinner today.

We learned how to make lasagna from a box a very long time ago when

we were dating and every once an a while we get together and make a pan.

Perfect for Valentine's day and a cold winters day.

Moon Lake Pond

I used the duck from Moon Lake stamp set for today's card.

The pond was made with Soft Sky ink, Soft Sky blendabilie, and white gel pen.

Bottom of the card was made with fringe scissors using Mossy Meadow.

Base card and sun is Hello Honey.

I got the appointment set for the knee replacement. Going in on March 30th.

I wish it was sooner, but one good thing the snow should be about at the end, and

there shouldn't be ice to deal with while I'm trying to walk.

I'm just happy to have a date set so I can get on living again. I know

recovery isn't going to be easy, but I'm seeing a light at the end of the tunnel

which is giving me hope again.

Mailable Monday # 97

Stampin'Up! has a new polymer stamp set out called Better Than E-Mail.

It's a really cute set that has lots of fun images you can use for

SU Angel policy if you are making cards using SU! stamped images to sell.

I made a simple card using the can't beat Snail-Mail stamp with Mossy Meadow ink.

Designer paper Moonlight, and cardstock Mossy Meadow.

Course I had to stamp the envelope too!

Our house is still a mess as we are trying to work in items that

we received from Skip's mom. I have my old kitchen table sitting in the

middle of the living room, and all my china from the hutch is in the dishwasher so

I'm doing my dirty dishes by hand. I'm thinking about

putting our old smaller kitchen hutch into the upstairs stamp room and using

it to store some stamping supplies. I haven't s sold Skip on that idea yet.

Valentine Treat Box

We had a very busy day yesterday.

Mom in law Kate moved into her assisted living apartment.

Sarah came over to help me unload our hutch because we

got Kate's kitchen set. Its hardwood maple with a hutch

that is twice the size of ours.

We still have everything all over the house. Skip has to secure the hutch to

the wall before I can fill it up.

It was great seeing Sarah yesterday. We got to talk about the wedding and

look at all the pins I have on Pinterest.

Lisa Sarah told me to thank you so much for the burlap runners you sent.

She loves them! So big thanks!!!!!

I had just enough time to make this little Valentine treat box.

It uses mostly washi paper. I also used the sweetheart punch to the lid then

added a window sheet behind it. Stamp set Groovy Love.

Don't forget to vote for my daughter Sarah in the photo contest

Sketch Frenzy Friday 020615

Welcome back to another Sketch Frenzy Friday post.

I always think of doilies when I think of Valentines.

I used the Stacked with Love paper pack, and layered white

doilies under some of the layers.

The main image in the center is from You Plus Me stamp set.

After stamping with Real Red and punching with 1 3/4 circle punch I

added adhesive to the back and used just the outside edge of a doily and

gathered it around. This was then added to the card with pop dots.

I also used the itty bitty accents epoxy stickers to make the

tiny hearts in the greeting look like they were under a glass bubble.

Its just those little extra embellishments that make a card interesting.

Check out what the other designers have made with this fun sketch at,

More Hearts

More hearts today.

As I'm writing this (Wednesday night) its snowing really hard!

Big white wet fluffy flakes have been coming down for several hours.

We are expected to get up to another 7 inches. I checked on a package

that was suppose to be delivered by the end of the day Wednesday and see

that it is now due to arrive today due to extreme bad weather.

Ah the joys of living in Northeast Ohio!

I had my ortho appointment yesterday morning. For those who remember

Dr. Smith on Lost in Space......I keep thinking what he always said "oh the pain, the pain"

The x-rays hurt, the exam hurt, but after all was said and done I'm approved to

have the first replacement done. Just waiting for the office to get back to

me so I can set a date.

Oh and another thing the doctor said to me that made me want to jump for joy......

I'm no longer considered obese....I'm now officially overweight.

Now some people might be offended by being called overweight. Not me!!!

I've been classified as being obese since my daughter Sarah was born...nearly 33 years ago.

So I can live with, and be happy about being called overweight!

You're Sweet Valentine Card

I love how the little heart punch fits inside the heart texture embossing folder!

How cool!

I used mini glue dots to attach the hearts that were punched using Stacked

with Love designer paper pack.

I added some burlap strands to the top and bottom of the heart row.

Greeting from You Plus Me stamp set. I cut the greeting out

using Chalk Talk Framelits.

Here is a close up view of the main layer.

I used the itty bitty accents epoxy stickers and colored one

of the hearts with Cherry Cobbler blendabilitie marker.

This was layered over one of the designer paper hearts.

The greeting and layer were popped up over the base card.

I have an early appointment with the ortho doctor this morning.

I have to get the knees x-rayed, then meet with the doctor.

Hopefully we can set a date for the knee replacement.

I'll keep you updated.

I got the results from the biopsy of the polyp that was removed. That

thankfully came back negative.

Personal note: Lisa your box will be in the mail on Thursday. I had to wait for

my order to come in. Kathy I have the embossing folder layers you needed finished.

I'll put those in the mail on Thursday also.

I'm still sitting at 175 on the weight. Not losing anymore but not gaining either.

I'm really craving carbs lately. I think its just because its Winter and I want

comfort food.

Berry Basket

First time using the new berry basket die.

I cut the basket with Crumb Cake then sponged the edges with Early Espresso.

I then cut the basket again using Best Day Ever designer paper.

this was glued to the inside basket. I used the same paper to trim around the

top and to make the bow.

The greeting is from Best Day Ever stamp set.

I even made some shreddy paper using the fringe scissors with the

designer paper.

We got six and a half inches of snow. This was taken of the driveway

after Skip had plowed it.

Suppose to be 3 degrees overnight so I'm wondering if the schools will

be closed again.

Mailable Monday # 96

Happy Groundhog's day.

I don't know if he saw his shadow or not seeing how I'm typing this

up on Sunday night. If the snow outside my window is any indication I'd

say its a pretty safe bet to say we are in for six more weeks of Winter.

Speaking of snow.....we got so much that the schools are closed today.

So Skip will be at home. He was happy after the superbowl to find out

he didn't have to work. Of course he will need to work at home as the driveway will

need to be plowed again.

Today's card is done in shades of brown.

Base card and layer are both Crumb Cake.

Stamp set is called Bordering Blooms.

I love that you can bend the polymer stamps when you place them on the

block. I wanted a curvy border on the bottom of the layer.

Inked with Early Espresso, and trimmed with linen thread.

Linen thread is perfect for mailable cards because its so thin.

I added some dots to the border using a white gel pen.
