Vintage Sewing Themed Tag with Napkins

 This is a sewing themed mixed media tag I made yesterday afternoon. 

Lots going one here. Started with a piece of cream cardstock.

I added a book page to it then clipped the top corners to make it into a tag. 

Next step was to add some using distress oxide inks. 

Next layer was paper napkins. Those were added with the

help of modge podge. 

After that dried I did the stitching around the edges. 

The vintage photo is from Tim Hotlz photo booth collection. 

I used a dried teabag over the woman image again using modge podge. 

Top and bottom of the torn teabag edges were stamped with script. 

Sewing machine and dress form are thinlit dies. 

Added some lace, vintage buttons, and cheesecloth. 

The greeting on the tag was drawn for me using the cricut air 2 machine.  

At the top I added a tab, and to that I added some cheescloth,

lace, and vintage button. 

Very happy with how this one came out. 

Will be making some more tags!

April Mixed Media Journal Page

 Mixed media journal page I made for April.

Theme for this one Rain, and Umbrella. 

The girl I cut using an image from the Cricut Air 2 machine. 

I folded a piece of blue stationary paper in half then added book

pages to the front side. The rest remain undecorated for journaling space. 

Added some distress oxide inks, and stenciled. 

The flap opens up to show more stamping, and collaging. 

Under the flap there is more paper for journaling. 

Added a tab to the top, and decorated with cheese cloth, and flowers. 

Hope my partner loves this one as much as I do. Really want

to keep it. May have to make another one.

Cricut Air 2 Machine Shaker Tags

 I was playing around with my cricut air 2 machine the other day, and

ended up making some shaker tags. 

Two tags were cut with the machine then I added acetate

to the center of the tags. Placed some foam tape around

the acetate added some small beads to create the shaker. 

I also created several tags using pink cardstock. 

Love how you can see through the tags. 

To stamp around the outside while leaving the bunny unstamped

I cut out and extra tag cut out the bunny, and used that as a mask while

I was stamping. Worked perfect.

Bowl of Soup Get Well Cards

 Working on some get well cards. 

This one was made with my Cricut Explore Air 2 machine. 

the bowl of steaming soup was first printed then cut by the machine. 

This card done the same way, but I enlarged the bowl of soup. 

Inside of both I added matching pattern paper, and

a greeting. 

Took a run to Costco yesterday as I needed printer ink. They

didn't have it, so we stopped at Best Buy to get it. Why

are ink cartridges so expensive? Color ink for my Canon ink jet printer was 32 dollars. 

WOW. 

Suppose to be in the mid 40's today. That will be like a tropical heat

wave for us after the temps being in the 20's the past few days. 

I plan to enjoy every bit of it as the shoe is going to drop. 

Going back in the 20's with snow on Friday. JOY!!!!!!!

Chicken 12x12 Paper Journal

Another 12x12 pattern paper journal. This one went out to 

my friend Connie who is celebrating her birthday this month. 

Done in a chicken theme because she raises chickens. 

Most of this one was done using the cricut Explore Air 2 machine. 

Close up of the lower front. See the greeting "eggs 25 cents"? That was

made with the air 2. Love how you can curve the letters! What a fun feature.

Sorry this pic came out a little orange, but the cardstock was red. 

Love that rooster. It was printed then cut with the machine. 

LOL the egg poked out its legs and is running away.

This is the first page of the journal. So cute little 

boy chasing a chicken. 

I also like how the paper I used had a basket weave. Perfect 

for collecting eggs! 

And Connie's birthday card. 

Sarah and Jason came over yesterday afternoon. We had a cookout.

Nice to see them. With the virus we haven't seen too much of the kids. I sure

do miss them!

Little Lady Liberty ATC

While I was playing with the cricut air 2 machine yesterday I 

had the machine draw this adorable little lady liberty. 

She is just to cute!!!! 

Colored her in with shades of green Prisma pencils. 

Added some red stripes in the background, and defined them with a black marker. 

Added little star rhinestones to the centers of the blue stars, and added a blue border. 

Went to Tuesday Morning yesterday after me, and hubby finished our morning walk. 

A lot of the craft section was empty. Not use to seeing that! They had arrows

all over the floor so you could only walk one direction down the aisles. 

I found a few little craft things, and one larger one. Share those in another post. 

I also got 5 packs of printed napkins that I'll be using for junk journal projects. There 

are so many pretty printed napkins! The ones I picked up were in the clearance dept. 

Can't wait to create!

Little Yellow Dress

I'm still loving my Cricut Air 2 machine. 

The machine drew this image for me onto an artist trading card. 

Colored it using Prisma pencils, and gel pens. 

Now I have to tell you this is the finished card. 

This is how plain Jane she was till I got a little help

from my favorite daughter in law Emily. 

She suggested I add some blue flowers to the hat, and little

dots to the outfit. What a difference it made! 

Thanks Em! 

I can always count on Emily to help me out. That girl is just so talented!

Quilt card made with Design Space

Now that my crafty friend Kathleen has received her swap

box I can start posting the projects I made for her. 

This is another card design using the cricut air 2 machine. 

Love the quilt pattern. At 5 x 7 this card is larger than I normally

make, but I could get use to making larger cards. 

Me, and hubby just got back from a very long walk. 

Since it will be hitting 93 today, and be hot and muggy we

decided to walk earlier. Glad for that! I'll be staying indoors

the rest of the day, and soaking up the AC! 

It will be nice, and comfortable in the Stamping Chateau!

Teacup Card

Teacup card I made using the Cricut Air 2 machine. 

I have been having so much fun with this new "toy"! 

There are so many images that I know I'll never be able to view them all! 

Just last week I figured out how to upload images to the Design Space, so

the fun will never stop! 

My son John bought me a printer for Mother's Day, and it just came in yesterday. 

He'll be bringing it over today to set it up for me. I really

needed the printer as some of the images on the Air 2 can be printed then cut. 

Had to do some rearranging in the stamping chateau, but I have a place for the

new printer. 

Will be happy to see John today. Since the virus I have not seen him since 

March. We text, and talk on the phone, but that is not the same.

Dribble Shoot Score!

A friend from school asked me to make

a card for her grandson's 12th birthday. 

Since the birthday boy likes basketball I designed

this card for him.

Made using Cricut Explore Air 2 machine. 

The orange inside the basketball outline was made with a circle punch

that punched then ran thought a dot embossing folder to give it some texture. 

Here is an inside view. The basketball player was also made on the Air 2. 

The number 12, and stamping is from a stamp set with matching numbers thinlits. 

The numbers were also embossed with dots. 

So happy with this card. Hope the birthday boy enjoys it.

Graduation Card

This is a special order graduation card I made last week. 

Happy to say that I made most of it using my new Cricut machine. 

Have to say I have been loving this machine. Still have a lot to learn with using it.

Flapper Card

Well here is another card for the cricut air 2 record books. 

This flapper card took me a little time to create, but

I think she is cute! And holding a glass of wine...what could be better. 

I'm still learning how to use this fun machine. 

Going to take some time, but since I'm stuck at home I have

nothing, but time for my crafts. 

Other than taking a daily walk I don't get out of the house. 

Hubby has been doing the grocery shopping for us. 

I miss seeing my kids, my friends, and shopping!

Air 2 Only Cards

Made some cards using only my new

Cricut Air 2 machine. 

Love these cute little seahorses. 

Inside reads perfect match. 

Of course I had to look for elephant themed cards on

Cricut Design Space. Came across a mama, and baby elephant. 

So cute how the trunks interlock. Sweet! 

We finally had a break in the weather! Sun was

out yesterday, and it was in the 50's. Not blissfully

warm, but it beats the heck out of 30's, and 40 degree temps.

Rainy Mother's Day

Well we are living in a different world. 

The virus came to town, and turned our lives upside down. 

I decided to get together with the kids today. 

Hoping that we will be able to do some outdoor hiking to

keep the distancing. Of course because it is going to be warmer today

that means rain will come along with it. Suppose to rain

in the afternoon with thunderstorms so we are planning to hike 

at noon. Going to pick up pizza on the way home, and eat in the backyard. 

Now if it does storm while the kids are here we will have to move into the house. 

Getting back to the card. I made it using my new Cricut Air 2 machine. 

Going to give this one to Emily's mom Anne. Perfect for a rainy Mother's Day.

Tea Time, and other Cards

Loving the cricut machine! 

Made two artist trading cards with ladies enjoying

their tea. 

Tea time was also done on the cricut using a marker. 

The oval base is a die spellbinder die that Betty gave me. 

Love the lace on it. 

Another card attempt using the machine. 

This is one of the first projects I made. Don't

know if I'm loving the gray, but the design does

show up better with the dot pattern paper under it. 

This card is 5x7. Showed it to hubby, and he thinks I should have

added eyes, and whiskers to the party cats. 

I was learning how to cut a card base, and insert words on the inside. 

Love that the machine will write, and score!

way for me to learn is just to play around. You Tube videos also help!

Anniversary Cards, and Wet Santa

I wanted to post the lovely cards received for me and 

hubby's anniversary. 

This one made by Kathleen. Love the roses, and that beautiful

lace scallop border! 

More beautiful lace on the card Betty made us. 

and some more lace, with lots of pretty hearts made by Lisa.

It was raining most of our anniversary, so

I made Santa Claus soaring through a rain storm. 

Don't ask why I made Santa in April, guess I'm 

just wishing ahead hoping this virus storm will be over by then.

My first Projects using Air 2

Even though it rained most of the day me, and hubby had

a great time. 

Made him oatmeal raisin cookies which we decided

to deliver to our kids. 

So we went to Sarah's first last evening. We visited

with her and Jason in the driveway. Good to see them 

after all this time. 

Then we drove to see John, and Emily. John was

still at work at 8 last night. He went back to work full time

as they have started up surgeries that don't require overnight stay

at the hospital. So we visited in the parking lot with Emily. Good to see her. 

We also got in a short walk around the neighborhood in between the raindrops. 

After that we ordered food from Applebee's. 

The above card was made with my new machine. I've been having a blast with it! 

I picked up this white tin container last year at a yard sale. 

Thought it needed something so I made my first project using vinyl. 

I'm sure I'll get better at it. 

Another little project. This is a little gift favor purse. 

Didn't want to waste the girl that was cut from that purse, so

I used her on an artist trading card.

Hubby is the Greatest!

Hubby got me an Explore Air 2 for my anniversary! 

Even though our 38th anniversary is today I have been

enjoying this machine since the middle of last week. 

Since the machine is pretty big I also got hubby to make me a 

small desk that fits perfectly under my large craft desk. It is a win win! 

Plus he also got the machine with a bundle so it came with lots of tools,

card stock, and vinyl! 

The Paris, and pink flowers I received from my friend Kathleen

last year when she knew I was doing the craft room in a Paris theme. 

Glad I had some leftover to add to the machine. 

Speaking of Paris the first card I created with the air 2 had 

to be the tower! What do you think? The machine drew the tower,

and then cut it out. What a smart machine! 

Here is the second card I made. Just added some washi tape to the bottom.

I really wanted the air 2 so I would have a way to get the greetings

drawn for me, but there is no end to what I'll be able to create! 

I'll be back tomorrow to show you more of what I've been making.
