Scallop Circle Angels

I have some angels to share with you today.

These were made using the largest scallop circle in the Circle Collection framelits.

I also used retired under the tree designer paper.

Here is how the scallop circle is cut. Think a a peace sign when marking and cutting.

Back view of how the skirt and wings are attached. I used Tombo Glue.

Here is another one I made. The head is vanilla that was punched with 1 1/4 circle

punch. The small foil doilies are perfect for the halos.

Then I just added a string for hanging.

I can't believe I'm 55 today! Where does the time go?

I'm double nickle, or the old 55 speed limit sign. LOL

Fall Leaves, and Ice Cream

So I have been having trouble with this knee replacement.

Still having more pain than I did with the first one.

Skip thought I needed ice cream therapy over the weekend.

He took me to Honey Hut which is my favorite ice cream spot.

I got are.....you ready for this.....Pumpkin Caramel Gingersnap!

It was so good and yummy!!!!

We stopped at Brunswick Lake on the way home and I snapped this

photo of the tree that you will notice is beginning to change colors.

Fall is here! Suppose to be in the 60's tomorrow for my birthday.

Skip was really sweet and put in a SU order for me as I also needed

retail therapy. The only bad thing about it is it hasn't shipped yet so I

won't receive my gift till next week.

Mailable Monday # 123

Okay I admit it....this card really isn't good for a mailable Monday card

as it has a row of rhinestones on it. Now if you leave those off it would be perfect,

but I was inspired by this basket that I bought at Pat Catan's

Love the Night of Navy, and Wisteria Wonder colors going on.

Then there is just a bit of silver which ties it all together.

New Book and Bookmark

My friend Kat got me this book for my birthday. Its

part of the Outlander series, that I have been reading for the past

20 years now. Love Diana Gabaldon novels.

I took this to the hospital to read as I was recovering from the knee replacement.

With the book she also gave me a bookmark that she made.

She knows how much I love elephants! Love it!

Thanks again Kat

Mini Shopping Cart, Bow Builder Punch

No artwork today, but I did want to share some photos.

Pat Catan's has the cutest little shopping carts!!!!

Made just for the little ones to do some craft shopping with mommy.

I took this photo when Kat was shopping with me. Oh how

I wish I had a little one to use this cart. So cute!!! Hmm...

I wonder how many packages of tape runners I could fit in that cart!

Oh I fibbed! I do have a project to share.

I made this bow to go on Sarah's wedding gift from Kat.

I used the bow builder punch, bakers twine, mini flower loom, pearl bead,

and a silver doily to create it. I also used an embossing folder on the cardstock pieces.

I also added some strings of burlap. Inside I carried over the designer paper

Mini Candy Bar Snowmen

I was playing around with mini candy bars last week.

The hats are made using 99 cent gloves. I just cut off the

top of the fingers to make the hats. The scarf was also made from a strip

of the glove.

Not sure which one I like better as they both have a certain charm,

and I really have not come across a snowman I didn't like.

Noses were fuzzy cut free handed. The scarf on the larger snowman is made

with the modern label punch. I punched it twice and glued them end to end

to make it long enough to go all the way around the base.

Side Z Fold Card

Back with another fun fold card. This is a sideways Z fold.

I used misc Halloween stamps that I had in my stash.

Done all in black and white.

See that lace along the lower half of the card?

That is washi tape. I thought it was cool the white lace on the black

background.

I forgot to take a photo of the card closed, and its

to late at the time of this writing as the card has long since been mailed out.

Made just the one card.

Well if things go according to the last  knee replacement I should be

released from the hospital this afternoon.

Hoping to be back tomorrow "Live" and posting photos of the knee.

Double Gate Card

This is a double gate card that I made using a 5 1/2 x 12 piece of

double sided designer paper.

Here is what the card looks like when opened.

The stamps are from Inkabinkado, called Fall Fields.

I didn't buy anything from the Holiday mini catalog this year.

With the wedding and all we decided not to do my birthday order.

So because of that I'm using some other stamps, and retired papers that

I've got on hand. The only thing that I'm really sad about is not getting the

window die and matching stamp set. That one I really love. Oh well....

maybe I can put in an order later in the year.

I like how the cat has leaves going on his back and tail. The mee..oow stamp

is from another stamp set that I found in my boxes of non-SU stamps.

Well I should be in the hospital recovering from my knee replacement.

I'll blog about that later as I'm typing this up days in advance as I wanted to have

the blog updated while I was recovering.

Mailable Monday # 122

Well this morning I'm going in to have the second knee replacement done.

I have to say I really don't want to go through that process again.

Here is praying that it will go well, and I'll be able to walk without the

cane, and without the pain.

For today's card I used Making Spirits Bright stamp set.

Used a blender pen with Crumb Cake, Real Red, and Tangerine Tango ink

to color in the glass.

The spider designer paper is from a pack that is retired.

The glitter black ribbon along the bottom is from Pat Catan's.

Red Hat Cards

I got a nice surprise package on Friday.

My friend Marianne made these ladies in red and purple.

Just perfect for Red Hatters! I'm going to frame

them, but it will have to be later after I recover from the surgery.

She also made this purple bracelet for me.

When she came to visit last weekend she showed me and Kat

a bracelet she was wearing made from neutral colors. We both were

admiring it so she said she would make one for us also.

Just love it!!!!!

Thanks for making my day Marianne!

Kitchen Decor, and Salon Photos

Look what I got!

Kat brought me my birthday gifts this year.

Even though the birthday isn't till the 30th I got

to open gifts early! Gotta love that!

I'm decorating the kitchen in a wine and grape theme.

This is the water pitcher from the Tuscan style decor I'm going with.

The little grape teacup in the background I got at Pat Catan's.

Kat got the pansy design. She helped me so much with the wedding

I wanted to get her an extra thank you so I got her the pansy teacup with

matching teapot. Didn't think to take a photo of it. I'm going to keep

checking back at Catan's for the grape teapot as they were out of that design.

And she got me this wonderful spoon rest. I needed a new one. I was

using a smaller one that had a goose on it. Totally 80's! Couldn't wait

to put that in the trash and replace with this pretty one.

Thanks Kat!

Here are a few photos of the morning at the salon. Sarah, her maid of honor, and

me all went to get our hair done. Kat came along and took some great photos.

Back view of my do.

Front view. You can see Kat in the mirror behind me snapping this photo.

I can't believe its been a week since the wedding!

Sarah and Jason are coming home today from NC. They went to Myrtle Beach.

Sketch Frenzy Friday 091815

Welcome to Sketch Frenzy Friday.

I used some retired things for this card.

Jack of All Trades stamp set, retired Halloween designer paper,

black lace doily, banner punch, and brown twine.

The black lace doily I picked up at Pat Catan's on one of the 4 trips

me and Kat made. On the last trip we also took my friend Marianne.

I think Kat enabled her to buy some things also!

Don't forget to check out the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog for

other great card ideas using this sketch.

Can Be Bribed with Chocolate

Remember those stamps I posted the other day....

Well this card was made with the witch hat and greeting.

Love it!

Pat Catan's was having a sale on Darice embossing folders,

and Kat talked me into buying a few....glad she did!

I used this folder on the background white layer,

Then I ran it through again on designer paper and cut out

the dress on the right. I thought the card needed a bit more color.

sorry this is turned sideways but I think you can still see the name.

Speaking of that witch liking chocolate me and Kat found these

at Starbucks while she was here. Best peanut butter cup ever!

Witches Brew Teapot

I've been making Halloween items this week.

This cute little witches brew teapot was made using

the Oval Accent die.

I also used some retired Halloween designer paper.

The web stamp is one that I picked up at Pat Catan's last week.

The teapot holds one tea bag. I added a string to a tag and attached

it with a staple to make it look like a teabag.

The web and spider were embossed with white embossing powder.

Here are some of the little stamps I purchased. Kathy bought me the witch hat one.

Love the saying "The wicked witch can be bribed with chocolate". So

true!

Back with more wedding photos tomorrow.

Spider!

While me Kat, and Marianne were out at Pat Catan's on Sunday

I picked up the supplies I needed to make this web.

Made with a wooden embroidery hoop that I painted black, then

added a lace doily. The spiders came 4 to a package and were black with

glitter on them. Made one for myself and each of the girls.

Funny story...or maybe not....Since it started to get a little chilly and

had been raining the wolf spiders are starting to come in the house.

Skip killed a few, Sarah got one, and even Marianne got one.

Sorry to the girls for scaring them. I'm scared of spiders too.

But so they will remember the spiders (like they will ever forget!)

I made the web hoops.

All week I'll be posting some photos of Sarah big day. Here she is

at the table putting on the makeup before we went to the salon to have the hair done.

Proud dad in the kitchen with her. Do you think that coffee cup is big enough?

And I forgot to post this one of Kat. This was on the day we were making cookies for

the wedding. What a kissy face!

Curvy Keepsake Box Carame Apple

I saw this caramel apple made from the curvy keepsake box

on pinterest. Just to darn cute not to make one.

I used Crumb Cake cardstock and sponged all the edges with

Soft Suede ink.

The red apple was made from a tag that is in the curvy keepsake set.

the leaf was free hand cut using old olive cardstock. I added some

veins on the leaf with a marker.

Greeting is from For All Things stamp set.

Glued a white doily to the bottom of the box, and

added a popsicle stick just like a real candy apple would have.

I filled the box with Werther's Original caramel apple filled hard candies.

Mailable Monday # 121

Just a quick update for Mailable Monday.

This card me and my friend Kat made this morning.....

till.....we had to stop.....and get this.....

had to go to Hollo's because I ran out of vanilla cardstock!

So we went to Pat Catan's 4 times while Kat was here and

3 times to Hollo's. WHEW!!! But we had a blast together.

So getting back to the card....it will be used for Sarah's thank you cards.

Stamp set Petal Potpourri. Ink colors: Crushed Curry, Hello Honey, Pear Pizzazz,

and Night of Navy.

I posted a bunch of wedding pictures to my facebook page.

Hoping tomorrow I'll be able to post more on the blog tomorrow.
