Pin Cushions using Frames

 I've been making more pin cushions. Found some

pretty silver frames in one of my many drawers, and decided it

was time to use them. These frames were purchased at Michael's a few years ago in their

dollar section. I got two square ones, and this one pictured above. 

Found some pretty Paris theme fabric that I bought at Wal-Mart, and

here you have it. Oh yes I did add a bow, and button to the top. 

Stuck some pretty pins in it. Will look great on a craft desk. 

And here is the square one. Also made using the same fabric. 

Added some ribbon, and button. This one also

has black and silver trim going around the base of the cushion.

I still have that one frame left. Thinking of making that as a gift. 

Have to find some more pretty fabric to use. 

Raining today. Think I'll be crafting most of the day. There are 

plenty of leftovers in the house so I'm not even going to cook today!

Pocket Tissue dressed up with a Bunny Sleeve

 I found these little double packs of pocket tissues at Marc's last week. 

Only .49 cents for a pack of two! 

For that price they were coming home with me. 

Just knew I could do something crafty to spruce them up. 

And here is what I did. Made a little

belly band with some dark green fabric paper. 

Added a bit of cheese cloth, then the bunny on top of that. 

Next I used some small paper flowers. 

I didn't like that the paper flowers were flat, so I used just a bit of water to get them damp, 

and used a stylus to round them. I also added a pearl to each center. 

Here is a view with the bunny sleeve removed. 

I think they are so cute!!!

Vintage Film Strip Tickets

Making some vintage tickets for my junk journals. 

To these I added some film strips from the Tim Hotlz line of products. 

Added the vintage lady stamps. 

Tickets are a book page that I wrapped around a thin piece of card board. 

Here is another one I made just using stamps, and different inks. 

Took a long walk this morning with hubby. Paying for it now as 

both my knees are screaming at me. Oh well. I'm sure it will be

better by tomorrow.

Expanding File Folder

Little mini expanding file folder I made for a swap. 

Fun little project that would be great for happy mail. 

It has two pockets. I also added tabs at the sides that slide out. 

I used the tab punch from SU to make the pulls. 

Pockets are filled with homemade tags, and a package of

rhinestones. 

So here we are in August. Summer is flying by! Not

looking forward to Fall this year. Going to be turning 60 at the end of September, 

and I'd like to stay in my 50's for a bit longer!

Matchbox Suitcase with Mini Album

Little matchbox suitcase project I made for a swap with my

crafty friend Kathleen. 

This was a fun project to make! 

Inside the suitcase hides a little mini album. Made to match

of course. 

Mini album was made using a single sheet of 8 1/2 x 11 paper.

This was such a fun little project to make that I'm sure I'll be 

making some more. 

and here is a top view showing the handle. I added some chunky rhinestones to 

dress it up a bit. 

Raining this morning. Just what we need as the garden is drying out. 

Kids coming over today for a cookout. Suppose to clear up by this afternoon so

we should be able to grill without getting wet.

Pocket Lunch Bag Ephemera Clutch

Here is another clutch that I made using a paper lunch bag.

Instead of using this one for a journal I'm using it to hold

some of my ephemera pieces. 

The inside pockets were made using book pages. 

Haven't filled them yet, but give me time and it will be full! 

Another thing I did last week. I went through all my many rolls of ribbon. 

I can't believe I still have so much after sending my friend Kym two boxes of the stuff! 

Anyway I took a few of the smaller rolls of trim, and put them in a votive holder that

my friend Kathleen sent me. Looks pretty good on my desk. 

This is a piece I made for a junk journal. Base is long distance

phone call log. Another little pad I found at Hollo's. 

The phone, and woman were made with the cricut air 2 machine. 

I think it has a nice 50's feel to it. 

I'm going to try to remember to take pics of the garden. We are already getting

stuff from it. As always I'm waiting for the tomatoes to get ripe. My favorite

from the garden!

Junk Journal with Matching Paper Bag Clutch

So I am addicted to making junk journals. 

I have a problem, and need a 12 step program....NOT!!!

Love making these. 

This is a thin journal made from pattern paper covering kraft card stock. 

Some of the pages I used stencils, and added Tim Hotlz ephemera. 

This pack is from Field Notes. 

Inside front. Made the tag with packaging which would have 

ended up in the trash. Gotta love that! 

Another stencil page this time a bee theme. 

Center page. Look at the right side I used some of the scrap paper ruffled ribbon

I made, and posted last week. 

This is a quirky page. The  girl looks like

she has a butterfly on her head. Greeting reads butterfly kisses. 

and I made this clutch to hold the journal. Made from a lunch bag.

I kid you not it really started out as a paper lunch bag. After all the

pieces were torn sponged, and glued down I went over the entire

clutch with collage medium to seal it. Added the button, and elastic tie to

keep it closed. I also stitched around the all the edges. 

So as I said addicted! I have enough paper supplies to keep me going for years. 

Okay I'm off to start the next one.

Three Little Baskets and Tray

Was playing the craft room yesterday. made this cute little set of 

 baskets. They fit perfectly in a tray. 

Each made with pattern paper. 

Based on a pattern for a small basket. I just omitted the basket handle. 

Using these to hold my mini embellishments made for my junk journals. 

Happy with these. Now if I only had a bigger desk!

Paris City of Lights on my Library File

Paris the city of lights. 

Since the craft room has a Paris theme I needed some lights! 

I put up a strings of white lights on top of the library file. 

Makes the stamping chateau so inviting at night when I'm crafting. 

Little closer view of everything on top of the file. I 

have two glass containers full of single wood mount stamps. 

I also have a green glass basket full of them. 

Lots of little old family photos. Love black, and white pics. 

A new addition just in time for the 4th pinwheels!

Made from double sided pattern paper, brad center, and a straw for

the holder. Used a bit of sparkle white trim at the top of the straw. 

The only thing I could find to put them in was a jelly jar. It works. 

I got up at 6 this morning, and was out walking at 7. So nice

to walk early. It was 63 degrees out, and comfortable. Going up to the 

mid 80's today so I don't want to be walking in that!

Parchment Paper Bags

These are little bags I made using a roll

of parchment paper I got at the Dollar Tree. 

So easy to make, and with one roll of paper you could 

be making them for years! Don't think I'll be making 

them that long as I'm sure I'll find other uses for the parchment paper. 

These have been decorated with a bit of lace, greeting, flower, and fabric ruffle. 

Had fun making these. I'll be using them for junk journals. 

Pretty hot outside. I may venture out a bit later if me and hubby

can find a shady place to walk. Going to spend most of my day crafting, and

putting my craft room back together. I also have a few birthday cards to make. 

Can't believe our son John will be 32 in a few weeks. Where oh where does the time go?

Waterfall Tag Album

Now this was a fun project! 

A waterfall tag album. I know I will making more of these as

I think they would make perfect gifts. 

This one was done in a coffee theme, and swapped with my crafty friend Kathleen. 

The base tag is heavy chipboard. Had to get hubby to help punch the hole in the top center. 

What would I do without him?

Inside view at some of the pages. 

Bottom side can be used for photos, and the top can be

used for journaling. 

This page has a small pocket. I added a few extra things

that can be used to embellish the photo pages. 

Last page. 

I went back after I took a photo of this, and added 

a wood flower to the last tab on the side.

embellishments.

I tied a cup and saucer charm to the ends of the ribbon. 

Speaking of ribbon I used seam binding, and crinkled it by getting it

wet then wadding up in my hand.

More 8x8 Ephemera Folder Happy Mail

I am still making 8x8 ephemera holders to send out

as happy mail to my crafty friends. 

This one was sent to my friend Kym. 

It's summer so perfect time to do a beach theme holder.

Butterfly cover on the next one. I liked the little air mail tag at the 

bottom sort of goes with the butterfly. This one went to Cindy.

Little bird, and flower themed one. This one went to Natalie. 

I'm still making these, and finding they are like potato chips...just can't

eat, or in my case make just one. 

So if you are one of my crafty friends you just might find one in your

mailbox one day.

Coffee Cup, Box, and Mini Circle Pocket

I have a few little projects to share with you today. 

My swap partner, and crafty friend Kathleen received her

box yesterday so I'm clear to post. 

We did a coffee theme for this swap. 

The first project is a little coffee cup. Filled it with candy. 

The next little project is a acetate box I filled with some brown shreds

and a box of instant coffee. 

The cup on the front was stamped, and I added a the straw. 

The little Starbucks icon I cut from one of their coffee sleeves. 

Next little project is a loaded mini circle. 

Filled with more little coffee goodies. 

I posted one of these circle projects last week. This

one I did a bit different as I added a half circle to the back, and made

some cute little tags to fill it with. 

I'll be posting more swap stuff this week. Lots to show you!
