Guess I am first, that in itself is a first:). My Words of encouragement are simple WATER, I found the more you drink the more you lose. It worked for me when I was doing the WW program. Never give up even when you reach your goal, still go to the weekly meetings. I stopped and need to get back to it myself!

You can do it. I know it's hard but I went on a low fat lifestyle change in Sept and I have lost 50lbs! I never thought it would happen. Mine came off slowly too. The 2-3 lbs a week is correct.
Stick to it and good luck.

Congratulations on your weight loss! I lost 56 pounds through Weight Watchers. It took me a little over a year. I am so happy that I did it! I have gained a few recently and am now back to my 20 points a day and losing them. I am determined to keep them off. 2 Years so far! Hang in there and remember to tell yourself it didn't come on overnight. I would sometimes only lose ounces or hit a plateau and lose nothing for weeks. My favorite quote was, "Nothing tastes as good as slim feel!s" I still say that to myself when I am feeling sorry because I cannot have something someone else is having. I wish you much success and will keep checking your blog for your progress!

Good luck with your weight loss. I am a life member of WW but that doesn't mean I am slim by any means! I acheived life status about 10 years ago. I started back to WW Feb. 2007 and am still going. I have lost about 30 pounds this time and am about 5 pounds from my goal. I know it is a daily struggle! What really helps me is to drink lots of water! I like those little Crystal Lite packets (lemonade particularly) to flavor my water.

Good luck!

And ENTER ME!!

Karen, it's good to see a picture of you - now I know who I'm talking with on all the yahoogroups. I'm so sorry to hear your mother cried all day - bless her heart - but am thankful that you were able to calm her in such a short time. I will be praying for you and your mom on this matter. Also, I'm sure sending up prayers on your WW loss; it's outstanding that you've lost more; don't be discouraged that you only lost 2.5 pounds; more will come off; know that there is the next time and it will be better. I'm so excited for you. Chat soon,

That is the BEST incentive I've heard! I'm a WW lifetimer, but about 7 pounds over goal--so I am getting out my points calculator and losing WITH you!

HUGE Congratulations on your loss, Karen! And the capris pants? that's awesome news - it's so much fun when something like that works out that way! ENJOY wearing them on your hard-earned vacation! I'm proud of you - I know it isn't easy, but you go, girl! Remember the water, oh, and I read this morning that Menthol Eucalyptus cough drops for some reason can help with food cravings - is that weird or what???

That is so cool, you lost 10 pounds! Do you realize your knees feel like you lost 40? I saw that in a commercial, for every pound you lose your knees feel like you lost 4. I am going to use you as an example for dh. You are an inspiration.

Congrats on the weight loss Karen! That is awesome, I know you can hit your goal. Just remember it takes time and sometimes there is a laspe in the loss, just hang in there. And don't lose it to fast so you don't get sick.

You didn't add the weight all at one time so loosing it won't be all at once. Just hang in there and the weight will come off. Congrats on the 2.4 that was lost. Keep up the good work and you will do it. Charlotte in Indiana

Karen,
Three years ago, after I had 3 rounds of Chemo for my Cancer, I weighed 230 lbs. I went to WW and I lost 40 lbs! It didn't happen over night. I lost a litttle every week. The first week, I lost 4.5 lbs., but from then on, it was 2 or 2.5 lbs. a week. It takes perserverance, but I'm sure you will be able to reach your goal. When you get discouraged, just remember that I did it at age 73, with Neuropathy (I couldn't exercise) so, I know you will be able to do it, too! And, for each 10 pounds you lose, I will give YOU something!

Congrats! Water, exercise, and snacks eat fruit and veggies. Oh and don't forget to be creative. Keep up the good work.

Congratulations on the first 10 lbs!!
I also am in WW.
My best solution has been the Hungry Girls cookbook. I also get an email from them each day with suggestions and recipes.
Writing everything down that I eat has also helped.

First: congrats on the weight loss.
Second: drink water -- i use country time lemonade add in thingys. And now I have added it fairly regularly that I can even just grab a bottle plain water and go.
Third: stop drinking pop/soda.
Fourth: walk -- i do my treadmill while listening to my son's zune. i count songs rather than watch my time. up to 5 songs now.
Fifth: other than at weight watchers meetings don't get on that scale. it could discourage you at your most vulnerable.
Sixth: you go girl. keep up with what has worked so far.

Windy wasn't I?

Great blog candy you are giving away. Thanks.

WTG!
I found myself thinking a lot about adding some sport to my life (sounds easier than changing nutrition habbits) - I hope to buy (in the next few days) something that will let me train at home... I hope it will be as I expect it to be and who knows - maybe the next time you announce losing - I will be able to join you... LOL

My would say that keep drinking your water and exercise, that is how I did when I was on WW. Great program by the way. and don't let youself get to comfortable when you get to your goal believe me it is easy to let the weight come back on. Good luck to you.

oh, this is an awesome idea. I'm right there with you girl on the losing! I agree with the water! keep on going!

Woohoo, Karen on your 10 pound loss. I love the idea of doing something non food wise for a reward for losing. I lost 100 pounds on WW in 2001 and now I am a WW leader! I still have to watch it when the scale goes up and get back on track with journaling, exercising, etc. I love weightwatchers.com , you can get a lot of recipes and encouragement on the message boards. I really made this a lifestyle change and now exercise everyday and watch what I eat, lowfat and low calorie. You can do it!

Thanks for the chance to win some blog candy.

Congratulations on your first 10 lb. loss. WW is a wonderful program and kept me inspired to lose and keep it off. The weekly meetings are needed now more than ever since I've reached my goal. Taking the weight off was the easy part, keeping it off is a challenge. You can do it!

I found your blog from visiting Cheryl Moodys blog. I love the idea and decided to start WW (again) myself. As I told Cheryl...what I have to learn is this: WW is not a diet..it is a way of life. Now, if I can get that thru my head..I won't have to say "I'm on WW AGAIN".....
Good luck losing :)
