Little Long Tail Visitor

So we had a visitor last Sunday when we had all that snow...as you can see in the pictures it was a lot of snow!!! Most of it has melted now. Thank goodness.

Anyway I was up in the kitchen sweeping the floor and happened to look at the siding glass door and saw this possum right at the door hitting it with his front paw. I called for Skip and once he saw this long tailed guy he ran and got the camera and went out in the cold to get some

pictures. I was surprised that he
didn't try to run away. He wasn't in a hurry at all and let Skip take all the pictures that he wanted to.

Now what did Granny Clampet use to say on the Beverley Hillbillies? .....going make us up some possum stew. You all have a great day.

I'm off to work.

You'll come back now...ya hear

Popped Bird

Good morning stampers (and readers) It's 12:57 in the wee hours of Sunday morning. Couldn't sleep so I decided to stamp. Not really thrilled with this card but hey can all of you out there stamp well at one in the morning? LOL

I stamped the bird on ivory cardstock then cut it out in an oval shape. Stamped the bird again and popped it over the first one, then repeated more popping with the bird's wing and two of the leaves. I think my ivory oval is a little crooked but hey again its one am.

Skip had to work Saturday so I did my grocery shopping and finished reading a Dean Koonz book that John gave me. It was so sunny today and got up to 41 that I sat in the kitchen by the siding glass door and took in some rays. And just between us I took off my shirt and just soaked up as much sun as I could. It really felt good. Thank goodness our back yard is wooded, no one around to see me. Suppose to get in the mid 40 today. I'll be at the mall in the early afternoon. Meeting Sarah and some of her friends there to see Alice in Wonderland. Just love 3 d movies. Hope its good. Skip decided not to go after reading the reviews and found out the movie got a C +. I don't let reviews tell me what movies to go see. Most of the time the ones that don't get high reviews are the ones I like. Go figure. Okay I'm rambling. Need to shut down and go to be for the night.

One Month....Really?

Has it really been a month since my last post. Where did the time go and just what have I been doing with my time that I was not able to post? Hmmmm I think the main reason is that winter has taken a toll on me this season. I'm cold all the time and just not a very happy camper. All those little aches and pains are starting to catch up to me. I'm really against getting older. "SIGH"

So how do you like the red hat? It's official I joined the Red Hat Society. I won't turn 50 till September 30th this year but I was allowed to join before my birthday. Of course I needed a red hat. Hubby says I need a big purple plume feather to stick in my red cowboy hat. I was trying to get the cat to look at the camera but Burbank was to interested in looking at me. Guess he never saw me in a hat before. LOL

So happy tomorrow is Friday. I have some big plans to start working on my new sewing room.....oh didn't I tell you? My oldest Sarah moved out of the house. So John moved into her old room as it is bigger and I got his old room for my sewing room. So excited....I already picked out fabric for the curtains thanks to my friend Connie for sending me a cover for my Cricut. I loved that fabric so much I asked her to get me more for the curtains. The cover as you can see in this picture was a perfect fit for my Cricut. Big Thanks Connie. I'm going to go to Home Depot and have them match the lightest color of green on the fabric and use that for the wall color. I'm going to replace the carpet also with cream color Berber. Can't wait till its all finshed. My stamp room is just not big enough to house my stamping supplies and my sewing. It will be so nice to leave my sewing machine out all the time and not have to pack it up all the time. Okay I'm writing a book now and its getting late need to cart myself off to bed so I can get up in the morning and go to work.

Flowers from Old Books

This flower was made from an old Winnie the Pooh book I bought from the local thrift store. The book was old and yellowed and made a great vintage looking flower. To make grab a scallop circle punch. I used one from SU. Punch 5 scallop circles from a book. Make sure there are words on most of the layers. Looks better when the flower is put together. Layer the 5 scallops use paper piercer to poke a hole in the center, then attach the layers together with a brad. Start with the top layer and scrunch it up. Repeat with next 3 layers. Leave the bottom layer flat as this is the bottom of the flower. Fluff the layers out so they look nice. Button was threaded with jute then glued to the center of the flower. I can see using other things for the flower centers...beads, pop dot with glitter, rustic jingle bell for a Christmas card, how bout adding a charm in the center or a gem stone? I'll have to make some more soon. As these are too fun to work with!

Happy Birthday Mom

Happy 78th birthday to my mom Gladys. I took the day off work to go spend the morning with her on her special day. Brought this quilt top that she said her older sister Blanche pieced. Me and Sarah worked on tying the quilt while mom enjoyed watching and listening to some country CDs I brought along. Her favorite female singer Patsy Cline, and one of her favorite male singers Hank Williams. It was a great day!

We did get some snow today. As a matter of fact....it's still coming down. Hope it stops soon. I really don't want to drive to work in the morning and have to battle snow.

Second Look Be Mine Or Else

I wanted a special envelope for this card so I rummaged though my bags and came up with Glassine envelopes that I forgot I had. Strip on the bottom is Old Olive stamped with A Light Heart stamp set by SU.

These Glassine envelopes sell at Hollo's for 2 cents a piece.

If anyone would like some let me know I'll be
happy to pick some up and mail them to you.

I just used a heart shape punch out to seal the back of the envy.

Have a great stamping day

Be MIne Or Else

The Bossy little Bird stamp is by Ink-a-dink-a-do. There are many other cute stamps in this set. I'm trying to get my groove back with stamping. For the past month I have just been stressed and unable to focus on anything. This winter, job, and being sick has just sucked the life out of me.

Big thanks to my friends for there understanding.

Okay back to this card. Hearts were cut using Coluzzle, cardstock Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, and Cameo Coral by SU. Background paper by BasicGrey Infuse.

Mom is having a birthday this Wednesday. I took a vacation day so could spend the day with her. I'll be baking a cake Tuesday night and bringing her and her friend June breakfast. Mom's favorite...Salmon patties and biscuits.

Have a great stamping day
