Festive Trees Gift Box

I've been playing some more with the gift box punch board.

I used Under the Tree specialty paper for the box.

I added some doilies, and trees using Festive Tree stamp set, on

Garden Green, and designer paper Trim the tree.

Noel is from Wonderful Wreath Framelit.

Along the bottom of the box I used Cherry Cobbler seam binding.

The design is done on all four sides.

I thought about adding a bow to the top of the box, but

I didn't want the bow to over shadow the designs on the box sides.

I still didn't get the tree up. Instead I used the last of the turkey to make

turkey noodle soup. Always a tradition at my house. We went through a lot

of turkey even though it was almost a 14 pound bird. It was so good everyone enjoyed it,

and of course I sent leftovers with Sarah and Jason.

Maybe today I'll try to tackle the tree.

Sketch Frenzy Friday SSF112814

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. I know we did.

It was good to just have dinner with our family.

Ate to much but that was to be expected!

Welcome to Sketch Frenzy Friday.

I used Night of Navy for the base card.

Layers are Confetti White, and Pool Party.

Trees were inked with Early Espresso and stamped on Soft Suede and Sahara Sand.

Greeting is from Ornamental Pines and inked with Cajun Craze.

Pool Party layer was embossed with Northern Flurry folder.

To finish it off I added some frosted sequins.

Check out the other designers to see what they did with this great sketch

No black Friday shopping for me today. I think I'll get the family to

help put up just the tree with the lights. No ornaments for now.

I'm going to wait and see how Cherokee does with the tree.

I'm thinking she will be climbing up into it.

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Blog spot is acting strange this morning so I don't know

if the card I uploaded will work or not.

At any rate....we had some snow this morning. Not much but a little.

Got up at 5 am or should I say dear hubby woke me up at that time.

He got use to working day shift this week so he just got up early.

I can't complain to much as he made the coffee which was very good.

We got the turkey in the oven at 8 am. The house is smelling really good!

I think it is even making the cat hungry. She keeps going over

to the oven door and trying to see in. LOL

Sarah and Jason are coming over at 2. So dinner should be ready by 2:30.

If for some reason the card does show up on the post I used

Mingle all the Way, and Jack of all Trades. Base card vanilla.

Ink colors, Mossy Meadow, Tangerine Tango, and Cajun Craze.

Just added a strip of designer paper across the bottom, and popped

the pumpkin on top of the greeting.

Sleepy Kitty

No artwork to share today.

I've been busy working on some holiday gifts, but

I can't post them to the blog yet.

My faithful cat Cherokee loves to lay

next to me while I'm crafting.

She will watch for a little while then its time for a catnap.

Speaking of nap I think I could use one!

Skip has been working day shift all week.

The schools kids last day was yesterday. They are off for the

holiday. Skip has Friday off, but I don't think we will be doing

any black Friday shopping. Maybe we will get the tree up instead.

Blendabilities Holder

I got a great gift in the mail last week from my friend Kat.

She made me a holder for my blendabilities.

It holds all the colors currently out by SU along with

the color lifter and ink pad.

Here is a side view. Kat said she found the directions on line, but

she had to adjust them to get it to work.

Whatever you did Kat thanks! Love being able to just

reach out and get the blendie I need.

Mailable Monday # 86

Happy Mailable Monday!

This card was done in sort of non traditional Christmas colors.

I used Pool Party for the layer that the pines are stamped on.

Stamp set Ornamental Pines.

Cardinal is from Beauty of the Season stamp set.

The bird was stamped on Shimmery White cardstock with tuxedo black memento ink.

Was then colored with Cherry Cobbler blendabilities.

To add some texture to the card I roughed up the top edge of the Pool Party panel

and curled two edges. Panel was then adhered to a white base card.

Triple Time White Christmas Card

This is a card I did for last Friday's Sketch Frenzy challenge.

I didn't get it posted to my blog due to the laptop crashing on me.

My very first triple time stamped card.

I did mine a little bit different from some of the cards I've seen using

this technique. I didn't stamp randomly, but planned out the

card so the trees could continue on both sides of the layers.

The car and tree were stamped cut out then popped on the center of the card.

Such a simple technique to do I'll have to make some more.
Happy Birthday Wishes to my little girl Sarah. She turns 32 today. Doesn't matter
how old she gets she will always be my little girl. I won't be seeing her today.
Jason is taking her out to celebrate, but they will be sharing Thanksgiving day with us.
Happy about that.

Decorative Window Gift Boxes using Wondrous Wreath

This gift box was so much fun to make!

I got to use a new stamp set Wondrous Wreath, and matching framelit.

This fit perfectly over the decorative window gift boxes from SU.

Wreath was inked with Garden Green, next layer Mossy Meadow, and

the berries were inked with Cherry Cobbler.

I used designer paper trim the tree with the boho punch to give some

extra pop to the wreath. Also used the same paper for the bow.

Joy was cut with brushed silver cardstock.

The boxes are food safe and sized at 4x4x 1 1/2 "

Perfect to fit some holiday cookies in.

Removable Tag Topper for Polka Dot Gift Bag

Back again with another fun way to use the polka dot gift bags from SU.

This time I made a removable topper that can be reused.

I just measured out the cardstock to allow for some extra width of the bag,

and to length to be folded over.

I used the trees from White Christmas and stamped on a Crumb Cake panel.

The bear was stamped on white cardstock then popped between the trees.

I used trim the tree designer paper pack with the scallop border punch to make the

lower edging so I could stamp a greeting.

Here is a close up of the topper.

I used the mini stapler to hold the edges of the topper together,

but if you made the topper a little bit wider you could use red line sticky strip if

you didn't like the look of the staples.

I did fold the bag down about one inch before slipping on the topper.

Here you can see how the topper is removable.

I can't tell you how happy I am to be posting and sharing with my readers again!

If you are wondering why no Sketch Frenzy Friday post today it was because

I missed the deadline. I'll be back next Friday to share a sketch with you.

Polka Dot Gift Bags made into Gift Tags

Looks like I'm back to blogging! YAY!

Son John helped me with the uploading of my photos onto the

"vintage" laptop I'm using till I get the new one.

I'm so happy how these tags came out using the polka dot bags from SU.

I cut the bag the long way into thirds, and folded down the top half. This

way I was able to use the scallop tag punch to the back side of the bag.

Next I used tombo glue to seal the edges of the gift tags.

I used Festival of Trees with the matching punch along with Garden Green cardstock.

The inside tag was cut to slip inside the bag and stamped with Garden Green, and

Cherry Cobbler ink.

Love them!

I'll be back tomorrow to show you another way to use these

polka dot bags.

Still Without a Laptop

I'm still without a laptop.

I got an old one to just check my email and browse the internet with.

This one doesn't have a way for me to upload photos to.

Hubby is going to buy me a new laptop but we are waiting

for Cyber Monday in order to get a better deal, and hopefully I'll

get a great one!

We woke up to snow the other day 2 inches! Really early in the season for

us to have the white stuff. Oh well tis the season!

I have been working on a few projects. I'm still not feeling

well so I'm just taking it easy.

I did decide to make a turkey for Thanksgiving. I was going to

just get rotisserie chickens and call it good, but its just not Thanksgiving without a turkey.

Sarah had some good news to share this week. Her and Jason were selected as a Neilson family.

So they have a box attached to their TV. She also got a new job as a personal trainer.

Which is very good as her daily drive to work will be much shorter.

Stay warm where ever you are and have a Happy Thanksgiving!

I won't be able to post for a bit due to my laptop crashed on me Tuesday.

I'm hoping to get it replaced by the weekend.

Don't forget to check out the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog this Friday.

I'll have my design posted there.

Take a Tip Tuesday

I recently ordered the sticker sheets from SU big catalog.

With the sheets being a kraft color it was hard to see where to

place the inked stamps.

To correct that problem all you have to do is

peel off the negative space. It will come off in one piece,

and will leave behind just the stickers. That way

you can see where to place the stamps.

Pretty cool!

Mailable Monday # 85

Its a no layer card for this week's Mailable Monday card.

Stamp set White Christmas.

Base card white, trees, and snowman inked with Early Espresso.

Oval was masked and sponged just around the edges

with Marina Mist.

Very simple and fast Christmas card to make. I timed myself took

3 minutes. I may not be able to make a 3 minute egg, but I

can make a pretty card in that time.

Sketch Frenzy Friday SSF110714

Time again for a sketch frenzy Friday challenge.

Today I used Get Your Santa On stamp set.

This is the first time I've used this set. I need

to get on the ball and make some more designs with it.

Colors Sahara Sand, Vanilla, Pear Pizzazz, and Cherry Cobbler.

I used Cherry Cobbler blendabilites to color in the Santa Suit and hat, and

used the lightest shade of Smokey Slate to shade around the side of the suit.

Lucky Stars embossing folder used on the Pear Pizzazz layer.

I also added a bit of venetian crochet trim across the bottom panel.
what the other designers have done with this sketch.
You are welcome to play along by uploading your creation to the blog.

Washi Tape Stars, and Seasick

Wouldn't you just know it.....I ordered the All is Calm washi tape,

but decided against ordering the matching All is Calm Designer paper.

Kicking myself now. I did remember that the Moonlight paper

pack had some Lost Lagoon in it so I used some of

that for this card. I'm looking at the card now as I'm

typing up this post and I'm getting sea sick...or is that land sick?

I got the washi tape going side ways on the card then you

have the wavy lines of the designer paper. LOL

Not my best work to be sure! I stuck strips of the washi tape to

white cardstock then used the star famelits to cut it out.

Stamp set Many Merry Stars.

Have to run now....I'm sure I need some seasick pills.

If you have a weak stomach approach this card with caution!

World of Dreams Scrappy Card

This card really is a scrappy card.

I didn't cut the white or Early Espresso layer.

I took them as is right from the scrap bags.

Stamp set World of Dreams.

Colors: Mossy Meadow, Tangerine Tango, Hello Honey, and Early Espresso.

I added a strip of burlap ribbon across the bottom, and even that was

a leftover piece from other project.

I love using up scraps!

Velum Snowman Luminaries

Aren't these cute little snowmen luminaries?

I had a customer email me asking for a simple

holiday inexpensive kids craft so I came up with these little guys.

You can make two of them using one sheet of cardstock weight

velum that is cut 4 1/4 x 11

I added the face using a black marker. For the nose I used Pumpkin Pie

blendibilities, but you could also use a regular marker.

After the face was completed I formed the cardstock into a tube and

used a mini staples to hold it in place. You could also

use double stick tape, but I think the staples holds it together just as

well and staples are less expensive.

I used burlap ribbon around the base of one, again I just

used the mini staples to attach it.

For the other snowman I glued snowflake and silver sequins around the top.

Tombo liquid glue works great. I even added some snowflakes for the cheeks.

Here you can see the battery operated candle shining through the

velum.

I think these would be a fun little project for kids to make.

Fun for adults too!

Candles from Ornamental Pines and Bird Builder Punch

Hope everyone remembered to set there clocks back.

This card is not my design I saw it on Pinterest and had to case it.

Colors: Lost Lagoon, Brushed Silver, Hello Honey, and white.

I used delicate designs embossing folder for the candles.

The tops of them, and the flames were cut using the bird builder punch.

Greenery around the base of the candles is from Ornamental pines.

Other things used, silver ribbon, and sequins.

Fun card to make.

Its been raining here. Typical Fall weather for my neck of the woods.

Turning colder with each passing day. Trying to keep my joints warm.

Oh my goodness! I'm looking out the window and its snowing!!!!!!

Too early!!!! Not cold enough to stick, but it is snowing.
