Quick Update

Had the shot this morning. All I can say is ouch....then relief! I think the needle going out this time hurt more than the first time I had it. At least now the knee is pain free. Planning on getting back to my workouts, but at an easier rate. Don't want to overdo as I'd like this to last 3 months. You can only have the cortisone shot every three months. There is another option gel injections one each week for three weeks. I may consider that if the cortisone doesn't work. I personally have high hopes for this injection. I think it would have worked better if I hadn't over worked my knee. The bike trip I took with the family on my birthday did me in. My knee was inflamed and I shouldn't have pushed myself so hard. I just didn't want to disappoint the family by saying no. I really need to learn how to say that word more.

Doing some light housework this afternoon, and working on some more gifts. I can't believe that Christmas is just around the corner! Maybe Santa will bring me a new knee.

Scallop Circle Snowman Tag

This little tag was made using three different sized scallop circle punches from Stampin'Up! His hat was made using a 1 inch square punch. The cardstock was run through Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder before punching it out. Arms were made with snowflake die. The confetti cardstock layers were sponged with Baja Breeze before they were layered on top of each other with pop dots. Shimmer glitter paper used to punch the little tree on his hat. 

I had a nice surprise this morning my friend Marianne gave me a call just to chat. So nice to talk to you Marianne! Made my morning. 

I need to get dressed as I'm still in my jammies. Have to go out to vote and then off to Hallo's to get some envelopes.

Sarah's Little Sewing Basket

This is one of the little gifts I'm giving Sarah for her birthday in a few weeks. The cardstock basket pattern I found while surfing the web.

I got one of little sewing kits that has thread, needle threader, and needles in it. So I made a little holder for the threader, and another little case for the needles. The buttons were also attached to vanilla cardstock. Stamp used on that is from Sew Suite (retired SU).

I took the spools of thread and ran ribbon through them and tied a bow at the top. I also made her a crocheted wrist pin cushion.

Basket was placed in cello bag, and remember the scissor case I posted last week? I attached it to the bag with ribbon.

I'm very happy how this little gift turned out.

Had a nice Sunday. Did some more crafting, and just a little bit of house cleaning. Skip watched the football game, and spent some time in the garage getting the snow thrower primed and ready. OH NO!!!!! Did I just say snow? Winter is coming!

Creating

Just wanted to show you my messy desk. I've been busy creating Christmas gifts for family and friends. I didn't have any completed work that I could post, but wanted to show you that I have been stamping!

Okay the stamp sets are out of order and stacked everywhere. Chances are they are going to stay that way this week. I have a tag class this Saturday so maybe I'll get the area cleaned up by then.

Me and hubby were out shopping yesterday. Had to get some things for Sarah's birthday. While at Khol's in Medina I heard "I'm dreaming of a White Christmas"....okay I love Christmas carols but not on the 3rd of November....Sorry Bing! I'm thinking the stores are so ahead of the holidays that maybe....just maybe I should be looking for chocolate Easter Bunnys, and start coloring my eggs now.

25 Gift Tags Class

I'm hosting a 25 gift tags for Christmas class on the 10th of November. This is one of the tags we will be making. If you are in the area and would like to attend just send me an email and I'll give you the details. 

Stopped raining. YAY. Was getting a little old. Suppose to be a nicer weekend. The kids in our area will be Trick or Treating on Sunday. I stopped at the store yesterday and picked up some more candy to pass out. Not going to tell you what happened to some of the last batch.....(but it wasn't me).

Going to work on some more Christmas gifts today. I'd like to have all my out of town gifts made and wrapped so I can mail on the 1st of December. 

I also need to finish my shopping for my daughter Sarah. Still can't believe she will be 30 this month. Since when did she get older than me? I'm still holding at 29!

New/Old Vintage Singer Machine

Sorry it took so long for me to post pictures of my "new" to me Singer machine and sewing cabinet. I've been racking my brain and talking to hubby about how to replace the trim on the cabinet front. I think it had the same trim running all the way across as it does on the door and drawers. So far we have not come up with an answer for the missing trim. If anyone out there has an idea please let me know. Hubby also has to make a hole in the back of the cabinet for the cord. You can see it running across the bottom left. Need to tidy that up. Look at the little gold treadle on the bottom right.

top left drawer open. Love that it has a little metal rack to put spools of thread on.

Front door open to reveal two more drawers. 

The Singer is from 1963, model # 604. Came with the attachments in a now "vintage" box.

Its running pretty well after Skip oiled it for me, and he also bought a new light for it as the one in the machine burned out. It is a slant stitch, and only does straight stitching, but I just love it!

Making banana bread this morning. I have some ripe ones calling me. Going to use un-sweetened applesauce in place of the oil. Also going to mix some white and wheat flour in the batter. Can't you just smell it now?

Snowgirl

Isn't she cute? Card base white standard A2 size. Nose is Tangerine Tango and Pennant punch. For the eyes I used the small square punch and punched just a little piece out of black, then put that piece in the 3/4 circle punch. I had to laugh as I stepped back a bit from the finished card as the eyes remind me of Pac Man. 

The mouth was done free hand with black marker. Cheek color was sponged with Cherry Cobber. Scrap of torn fabric made into a bow for the scarf. The little snowflake at the top is stamped with Baja Breeze and Snowflake Soiree stamp set. 

Accents added with white gel pen. 

Was really odd yesterday with no Trick or Treaters on Halloween. It will be really strange come this Sunday giving out candy in November. 

Still rained all day yesterday, going to have more of the same today.
