Trekking through Autumn Hikes Complete

Me and hubby completed the Trekking though Autumn challenge that

was sponsored by the Medina County parks.

So happy I earned my backpack! Next year when we finish the hikes we

will earn a pin.

Had to hike through 8 Medina county parks nature trails. Some

of which were pretty hard. Lots of steep slopes, and rough terrain.

Most of the parks I didn't know existed, and I've lived in Medina for over 20 years.

If you are in the area and want to try the hikes you can find the info

Wolf Creek Environmental Center was the last hike which

is also the place that awards the backpacks. They

have this historical tree grove which is really awesome!

Hard to make this photo out, but it reads George Washington Tulip Poplar.

This tree is a offspring of the tulip poplar George planted

at the Mount Vernon Estate in 1785.

There was a school field trip underway when we visited the center.

Lots to see and do.

There are 13 parks in all on the trek, and we plan to visit and hike more of them.
