Spooky Treat Cups

When I was at Hollo's last
weekend picking up envelopes
for my friend I saw these Solo
black cups, and I thought these
would make really cute Halloween
treat cups. I like them! Seeing how
they were so quick and easy to
make I'm going to do up a bunch of
them and give them to co-workers.

This darling purse I found at my
local Salvation Army store. Perfect to
carry for fall. Words on the bag....
Raking up is hard to do...
How adorable it that? The bag was
brand new still had the tags on it and
cost me 3.00. I just love the thrift store! With today's economy, and me needing smaller clothes (YAY) all the
time it's wonderful that I have an option to find the items I need for less.

Great Weigh In..Pictures of the yard

Fall is here! Just love Autumn...it's my favorite time of the year. I've been decorating the front yard using the corn stalks from our garden. Scarecrows is the theme. I have them on the lamp post, mailbox post and adorning the front stoop.I had such a great weigh in yesterday. Are you sitting down? Are you ready to hear the news?
I lost 3 pounds!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jumping up and down for joy that I'm back on track!!
To date I have lost a total of 84 pounds. WOW!!!!! I've been doing resistance training with cords and also Pilates. I've been building some muscle and I guess that affected my weight loss. Such
a good feeling to see that scale moving down!!!! I have got to stay strong on keep on track..
don't want that scale to creep up.

Happy Birthday Lisa

My dear friend Lisa is celebrating her birthday today.
This is how I wrapped her gift this year. Love the colors in
the silk flowers that I added to her package.

I'm excited to go to the Weight Watcher meeting today. Had a great week staying on plan and keeping up to my workouts so I'm hopeful that the scale will be kind to me today!

Peeps!

Need a marshmallow Peep fix? Can't go wrong with these
sugar free pumpkins that are made with Splenda.
I found them at Marc's for .97 cents a package.
There are three to a pack and each pumpkin has a
mere 20 calories.
So if you just eat one pumpkin
it comes in under the 1 point Weight Watcher
radar so you can
enjoy this little treat guilt free.
If your like me Halloween is a hard holiday
to get through. Everywhere you look there
is candy.

Skip is still working on the bathroom. I've been on my own pretty much the whole weekend. I'm okay with that....I just want the bathroom finished. I've been spending my time working out, and riding the bike. I also took some time today and cut down the corn stalks and put them around the lamp post and mail box along with some fall leaves, and scarecrows. I must tell you I felt pretty darn silly putting them up as it was well over 80 degrees out today. I'll take some pics and post them to the blog later this week so you can see.

New Additions to my Collections

This is the latest addition to the Barbie collection. Sarah got me Princess of Ancient Greece. Way down on the bottom of this photo is new additions to the thimble collection. My sis-in-law Cheryl went to Memphis over the summer. She brought me these cool thimbles. Love
the Elvis one!

I'm so tired this morning!!! I went to see mom yesterday and took along
the spiders from Saturday's post to make for my co-workers. I thought mom would enjoy watching me work. Well she did but so did the other
residents at the home. So.....instead of the co-workers getting these cute little spidys mom's friends from Sunday morning coffee hour got them. They were taking these as fast as I could make them. Good thing I
packed extra cardstock! It was so rewarding to see them smile!

Later in the day I mowed the grass, and cleaned the kitchen and living room floor. Also went for a bike ride around the neighbourhood. Long weekend!!!! Didn't work on the yard sale as much
as I wanted to so I'll be working on it each day after work. Thank goodness I have a three
day weekend on the horizon.

Ghosty Treats

Love this new mind scape stamp set by In-a-dink-a-do. The stamps have different
images inside the bold image. Too cool!!!

This morning I made the s'more packages.
Just used two graham crackers, snack size
chocolate bar and a ghost peep. Topper was
made with Top Note Die on textured green
cardstock I got from Hollo's. Topper was
folded then opened flat stamped with hat.
Then I used a hobby blade to cut the top
part of the hat so it would lift u from the
back when folded over the zip lock bag.

Yesterday was so busy!!!! Since it was such a nice day we loaded up the bikes and headed out for the park. It was a hard ride since most of it was up hill. WHEW!!! Lots of work going up but fun coming down.

We also went on the search for bathroom tiles. Think we finally agreed on some. Also went to dinner at the Road House. It was part of our homework from Weight Watchers last meeting. We were to practice selecting healthy items while eating out. I did pretty good. Order the catch of the day which was mahimahi. Never had that before. It was grilled and good! Ordered steamed veggies and had the salad brought with the dressing on the side. Of course there salad has cheese so I had to pick around most of that. My only splurge was two onion rings. The Road House makes the best onion rings. They bring them out on a stick. The onion are huge!!!!! Anyway all in all I think I did very well.

Okay off to visit mom.

Too Cute Spiders!!!!

Are these not too cute!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just love the little creepy guys. Now if you get me
near a real spider I go running in fright, but not from these fun spidys!!!!

Made using SU scallop circle, and photo punch for body and legs. 1/4 circle
punch for the eyes and nose. I had to stamp one of the scallop body with a
web. Card stock black, Rich Razzleberry, Pumpking pie, and confetti white.
Peppermint patty makes up the body.

I had the best smoothie for lunch today. Have you ever tried soy milk? My daughter
Sarah turned me on to it. If you use light soy it's 1 point for 8oz. Mixes really well with
smoothies. I used Weight Watcher Chocolate smoothie mix, 8oz soy milk, one banana,
and 1 tablespoon of Better than Peanut Butter, and some ice cubes. YUM!!! Makes two
large glasses point value 4.

Okay I'm off to work on the yard sale. Have a great weekend

Can't Find My Desk!

Really I can't! What a mess. Didn't stamp last night as I just didn't have the energy to find a clean corner on the desk to work with.

Came home did my workout, made dinner, cleaned up the kitchen, worked out some more. Good Grief!!! I didn't weigh in today at the Weight Watchers meeting. Somehow I knew my weight would be up so I opted not to know. LOL Hey my choice. I'm not going to stress out about it.

Glad today is Friday. I'm ready for the weekend. Customer's all week at work have just been crabby. You would think with a short work week it would go by fast......that was not the case. Time just dragged by.

I'll be spending the weekend getting ready for the yard sale I'm having next weekend. I will be selling some of my craft supplies so if you in the neighbourhood stop by you'll get some good deals. I'm also selling all my plus size clothes. YAY. I can't tell you how much more room I have in my closet and dresser drawers just because my clothes are smaller now.

No Guilt Yogurt...that Tastes Great!

I have to share the wonderful yogurt I found out about. Yoplait Fiber One is just a mere 50 calories per cup. So rich and creamy! Best
of all if you just eat one it works out to Zero Points on the Weight Watcher plan. How cool is that!!!! They come in several different flavors but key lime pie is my FAV!!!!! If you visit fiberone.com you can print out a coupon for 1.00 off. Again how cool is that!!!!

And for those of you that like freebies (Lisa) Visit Koshegolean.com and order a free sample box of cereal.

Okay this is just too funny!!! I love this card. Kat sent it to me a while ago. I believe the stamp is from Ink-a-dink-a-do called mind scapes. Well I loved this card when I received it, but of course I put it with my other cards in a box.....and forgot about it.......but I remembered it when I purchased the same stamp set last week. I just fell in love with all the stamps and knew I had seen that butterfly before. So Kat I'll be using my new set and will be sending you a card soon. Thanks for the inspiration!

Spider

Not so happy with this card. I wasn't feeling all that well last night. I think I'm developing a bladder infection. JOY!!!!!

Card uses several different stamps from different companies. Spider is from Best Fiends. Hat is from Eat Drink & be Scary both by SU. Web and words stamp set Distressed Halloween by See-D's. I've been using this set for the past three Halloween cards that I posted.

I do like the colors I selected for this card. Black, Rich Razzleberry, Not Quite Navy, and Gable Green. Scallop circles by Marvy. I haven't used those punches in so long. Since I got hooked on Spellbinders I don't use them. Hmmmm maybe should think about selling my Marvey punches so I can buy new supplies!

I froze two more large ziplock bags of tomatoes. I'll be glad when the garden is finished for the season. I enjoy having fresh veggies but it's a lot of work!!!!! How did my grandmother and her mother do it all? My mom's mom Alice canned all the time. She canned one item that I remember very well. It's called Chow Chow. What she did was use all the leftovers from the garden chopped them up, seasoned and canned them. I still remember it as being very good! Haven't a clue on how she really did it, and of course no one wrote it down. I'm sure she wasn't the only person to do this. Maybe I'll search around the net and see if I can come up with something.

Off to work. Have a great day.

Free To Good Home!

I goofed and purchased two of the Sizzix Texture plates. Now if you don't have a Big Shot these two sided plates will work in the Cuttlebug. You will need to make a "sandwich" as follows for use in the Cuttlebug:

A plate
Cardstock shim (same size as plate)
Texture plate
Cardstock
Silicone mat
Sizzix Empressions mat

If you would like to have these plates leave me a comment on this post. I'll draw a winner at random this Friday.

All I can say is my 4 day weekend sure went by in a hurry. Have to get ready for work.
Happy Tuesday!!!!

Window

I found this cool Sizzix die at Jo Anne's a few weeks ago. It was on sale for 40% off I just had to have it. Die name is Kit #1 Card Horizontal A2. Makes a full size card with four windows. The really cool thing about it....you can move the windows around to have them in many different places on the
card front.

I'm still working with the same stamp set as I posted yesterday. I found some old Halloween designer paper that had circles in it. The pattern looked like eyes so I cut out the pumpkin eyes, nose and mouth then used the designer paper under it. For the inside card I used another piece of designer paper, then stamped the word on More Mustard. Other cardstock used: Navy, and Old Olive. Bitty Boos Too stamp set by SU used on the inside card.

We had a fun time yesterday at the family picnic. We had really nice weather for the day. Not doing much today but getting caught up on house work, and the wash.

Halloween

Wow my first post using my new laptop. It's not really my laptop. Belongs to my son John but he decided to let me use it. So I have it set up in my craft room on my work desk. Just loving it!!!!! Okay on to the card.

Stamp set by inque boutique called
Distressed Halloween. Picked it up at Pat Catan's for $4.97. What a deal! Next to Christmas Halloween is my favorite "Stamping" season!

Colors: Rich Razzleberry, Mellow Moss, Pumpkin Pie, and Black. I really like how the bat came out. He is stamped on the mellow moss cardstock with black ink, then I cut out the wings using a craft knife, and left the body intact. Just wanted to lift the wings.

On the black cardstock I stamped the web with
craft white so it would show though under the wings.

I'm seeing more Halloween cards and projects in my future. Are you ready for them?

Today we will be going to a family picnic. They have it every Labor Day. The weather has been beautiful this weekend so it should be a nice day.

Sick Kitty

Our poor kitty Burbank is sick. Took him to the vet and come to find he has an ear infection. Poor baby has been sneezing and congested. While he is on the mend...yes I made him a get well card, and to all my readers...first of you that catches a cold this season will receive this card. Sort of makes you want to catch the sniffels...right?

Now I love these cat stamps by Ink-a-dink-a-do....but I was having problems getting a good image. See this gray image? The ink wasn't adhering to the clear stamp. So first I tried gently sanding the stamp. Inked it up still didn't get good coverage. Next I ink the stamp up with VersaMark then inked it in Razzle ink (new SU in-line color) then stamped on white cardstock. Worked very well! Got a nice image of the cat. Just thought I would pass along this tip in case it happens to you while you are stamping.
Any one remember Bill the Cat? He was a cat in a cartoon strip
Bloom County. I love that strip! Not around anymore but I have all the books. Anyway Skip drew this on the wipe off slate on our fridge. Our cat does not like taking his meds.
