Timeless Designer Paper

I love, love, love this designer paper from SU!

Timeless is just beautiful paper. It features Basic Black, Sahara Sand, and Very Vanilla colors.

I gathered Mint Macaron lace ribbon with thread and tied the ends together. Then added

a pearl accent to the center. The Sahara Sand lace was done the same way.

Apothecary Accents frameits was used with black cardstock. The greeting was

stamped on Sahara Sand then punched with the modern label punch (retired).

Base card Sahara Sand with a Basic Black layer.

I really love how this card turned out. Can't wait to make more artwork with

this designer paper.

Mailable Monday # 112

Another new stamp set that I got to play with this weekend.

Its called Awesomely Artistic.

I used Tangerine Tango, Old Olive, Soft Suede, and Memento black inks.

Card base is white, with Soft Suede sponging along the edges. The

frame around the greeting was stamped on Soft Suede then fussy cut and

layered over the greeting with pop dots. A little twine bow finished off the card.

We had some rain this weekend. Didn't do a lot but I did get to see some

of Sarah's accessories for the wedding dress. The shoes, earrings, and headband

she ordered on line all arrived. They look fabulous!

I also ran out to Joann's yesterday afternoon and got a bird house to put her

cards in. It will have to be spray painted, and I need to make a tag that has

"cards" on it.

Sometime this week I'll be posting a creation that I made with a new trick I learned.

I figured out (finally) how to make rosettes using seam binding. So be sure to

stop by can check it out.

VC Rocks Blog Hop Celebrate the New!

Welcome to the 2nd VC Rocks Blog Hop 2015

The theme for this hop is Celebrate the New.

I'm all about anything new from the 2015/2016 Stampin'Up! catalog!

I just got my order on Friday so I had to hurry up and create a few things.

Used the berry die with Crumb Cake cardstock. Before putting the

pieces together I used the new brick embossing folder and sponged the

edges and spaces with Soft Suede.

Handle made with Farm Fresh designer series paper, and I used the

bow builder punch and made bows for each side of the handle.

To fill the basket I made 3x3 note cards.

Used more of the yummy Farm Fresh dsp on the front.

Simple technique cut, flip, and add a strip.

Layer was cut 2 3/4, then cut at 1 inch to flip. Strip is

1/4 wide. I used the greetings from Watercolor Wings stamp set.

Oh and look close on the note on the right..I used the new white perfect accents.

Also had to have the Market Fresh stamp set.

I stamped and colored the strawberries then cut out with the circle framlits.

This was layered on another new product, Metallic Foil Doilies.

I stamped the image twice then cut out the banner and popped it over the main image.

More Farm Fresh dsp used for the banner.

I'm going to use this creation for a cello bag topper.

Be sure to check out the VC Rocks Blog for other great ideas using new SU products.

Sketch Frenzy Friday 062615

Sketch Frenzy Friday is here again!

This card pushed me out of my comfort zone with the colors I selected.

Base card white, Delightful Dijon embossed layer, smaller layers,

Wild Wisaba, and white.

The images were stamped with Melon Mambo.

I got bold and daring across the top and added 1 1/4 jute ribbon that

I ruffled and attached with mini staples.

So I decided to go back to my roots with my weight loss.

Since the wedding in coming up in a few months and I need

to get a handle on the eating I went back on the old Core program

from Weight Watchers.

Went to the grocery store yesterday morning and stocked up on

all the things on the Core list that I know I enjoy eating.

So wish me luck I need to get at least 15 pounds off.

By the Tide Card for Joe

My friend Joe and his better half Kat are still vacationing.

Joe has spent almost all of his time enjoying his favorite pastime...you

guessed it fishing!

All of the photos Joe has been sharing on Facebook of the fish he

has been catching inspired me to make this card.

Stamp set By the Tide.

I used the negative image I had left over from last weeks Sketch

Frenzy Friday to sponge in the oval on vanilla cardstock.

The fish was stamped with Jet Black StazOn ink.

I added some chevron ribbon and twine to the lower half of the card.

Sarah and I had a great time yesterday doing some wedding shopping.

We got some stuff for the table center pieces. We have it narrowed down to two designs.

She and Jason will be making the final choice. I also

picked up her guest book. It was perfect as it is covered with burlap and

had vintage ribbon and a twine bow on the front. I'm changing out the

small flower in the center of the twine bow with a small sunflower.

At some point I'm going to cover a few pens with burlap and a small

sunflower at the top to go with the guest book.

We also stopped and had lunch and a small kid size ice cream. She is

watching her weight before the wedding. Something I need to do as well.

Flag Card Bohemian Borders

Since the 4th of July is right around the corner I was

inspired to make a flag card.

I used Bohemian Borders stamp set, and the matching embossing folder.

I used a white gel pen to add some accents to the field of stars Night of Navy piece.

As I sit here typing this and looking at the card I'm reminded of

baseball. The border stamp with the "v" lines look just like

the stitching lines on a baseball.

I ask you...what could be more American than baseball? Let see, hotdogs,

apple pie, and the flag. Just to name a few.

Punch Art Gru

Happy Birthday to Amber!

Amber ( my friend Kathy's daughter) is

celebrating her birthday today.

She loves the Minions so I made

her this card showing Gru using different punches.

I found the card on Pinterst.

Hope you have a great day Amber!

Mailable Monday # 111

This is not how I thought this card would come out.

I started with watercolor paper and the swallowtail stamp.

When I didn't get a clear image from the StazOn ink ( I just didn't

press hard enough) I decided instead of wasting what I already made to

re-purpose it. I just randomly tore the paper.

I then stamped the image again on a vanilla base card.

Added the sponging to add some color. Then added some words with

the dictionary background stamp. There is a strip at the bottom using Hello Honey and the

hexagon embossing folder.

The torn images I added on top of the stamped butterfly.

There is a little strip of washi tape, and the greeting at the top

is from An Open Heart stamp set.

So what do you think? Did I save the card?

I'm going to throw the rest of the pieces into my scrap bin. I may use

more of them on a shabby chic, collage card or project.

With Father's Day yesterday I didn't get a chance to update my blog,

but I wanted to give a shout out to my best girl Kat. She's been on

vacation and away from home, but yesterday was her birthday. So

Kat I hope you had a great day. I know the family misses you and hubby Joe,

so hurry home!

Sketch Frenzy Friday 061915

Happy Sketch Frenzy Friday!

I used An Open Heart stamp set for this challenge.

Oval framlits used to create the center panels.

The designer paper is actually from the Bohemian pack.

Bird was colored with aqua painter using Island Indigo, and Crumb Cake ink.

I used Sahara Sand lace to make the two rosettes.

Don't forget to check the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog to see more

ideas to use this weeks Sketch.

Grandma's Quilt

This is a lap quilt that my grandmother Alice Booth hand stitched.

I put the backing on and tied it.

So cool to look back on vintage fabrics. My mom gave me a ton

of quilt tops that need to be quilted. Most of them she set up herself. Mom loved to

piece and do the applique work but she did not like to quilt.

I gave this one to my son John, since I thought he would like the colors mostly black, and

dark designs. He told me he didn't want to ruin it so I'm going to fold it up and

put it away for him till later.

A few days ago I made a pan of baked oatmeal. This is something quick and easy I can eat

for breakfast.

I like to top mine with some lite vanilla yogurt.

Here is the recipe if you'd like to make some for your breakfast.

1 egg
 1 1/2 cup rolled oats
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup fat free milk
1/4 extra virgin olive oil (the kind meant for baking)
1/4 cup finely chopped pecans
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cinnamon ( I use a heaping tsp cause I love the stuff!)

preheat oven to 350, spray 8x8 or 9x9 pan with cooking spray
Beat egg in mixing bowl, add remaining ingredients and combine.
Press mixture into prepared pan. Sprinkle with more cinnamon if desired.
Bake for 25 minutes. Cool then cut into 9 squares.

You Amaze Me Card, and Tropical Smoothie

Back with another card using Crazy About You stamp set.

I stamped the flower twice once on white cardstock and once on

Hello Honey cardstock using Hello Honey ink. These were punched out with the scallop circle

punch. Then I cut each petal down to the flower center.

7/8 scallop circle punch used with Chocolate Chip, and Hello Honey cardstock

to make the flower center.

Since the temps have been scoring here and the humidity right along

with it I've been making more smoothies.

I read somewhere that pineapple is good for reducing inflammation so I

went tropical! I use two pineapple slices, 1/2 cup mandarin oranges, 1/2 cup almond milk,

and a 1/2 cup of coconut water. Plus several ice cubes.

Hubby picked up the wrong pineapple slices. He got the ones in the heavy

syrup so I had to rinse them really well.

Mailable Monday # 110

You will laugh about this card....I was going to use Vanilla as the base,

but then remembered that my cutter was in the kitchen from yesterday.

We had it down there to cut the announcements to go into the

wedding invites. Anyway....I was just to lazy to walk down stairs to get the

cutter so I used a piece of Bermuda Bay that was already cut to A2 size.

I used words from Crazy About You stamp set.

I was able to bend and stretch the words to fit how

I wanted them to on the clear mount block.

These were used for the stem of the butterfly flower. Then I

used the small butterfly stamp from Butterfly Basics to make the leaves.

Designer paper is Bohemian, and I added some doodles with markers around the

edge of the card.

I'm happy to report that the wedding announcements are finished! YAY.

Sarah and I even got Skip to help assemble them yesterday afternoon.

Next big stamping project for me will be thank you cards, and cards for the

bridal shower.

So many projects that I need to get completed.

Wish me luck.

Sending a shout out to my friends Kat and Joe. They

Sketch Frenzy Friday 061215

Welcome to another addition of Sketch Frenzy Friday!

In my attempt at a different one word greeting I did some

internet surfing.

Ahoj means simply "hi" in Czech.

Since I was using the Bohemian designer paper I

did a search for Bohemian one word greetings.

Ahoj is thought to have came from the sailors greeting Ahoy.

Bet you didn't think you were going to learn something on my blog

today!

I used Little Letters thinlits die to make the letters with Blackberry

Bliss cardstock.

The solid pieces were cut 2x1 1/4, and were embossed with the Bohemian embossing folder.

Be sure to check out the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog for more

designs using this sketch.

Cut and Flip Quick Deisgner Paper Cards

I wanted to show you the cards I made to put in the totes that I posted

yesterday. They are super easy and quick to make.

No stamping required just cardstock and designer paper.

Cut the designer paper 4 x 5 1/4. Then

cut two inches off the bottom.

Flip the bottom two inches over then adhere the two pieces

to a standard A2 size card.

Then just cut a little accent piece. This can either be from designer paper

or cardstock. Strip I used was 4 x 3/4 inch.

You can make a ton of these cards very quickly. Would be great for Christmas, birthday,

or just because gifts.

Bag in a Box Card Tote

These tote bags are so cute and fun to make

that I just want to make one for everyone I know.

They are sized to hold standard A2 size cards with envelopes.

I used the new Naturals designer paper with Basic Gray cardstock.

Tag was made with Blushing Bride, Butterfly Basics stamp set, matching framelits,

and apothecary accents framlits.

I also made one using the new Bohemian designer paper with

Blackberry Bliss cardstock.

Be sure to come back tomorrow as I'll be showing you the cards I made

for totes. Cards are very quick to make. Each one of the totes holds eight cards with

envelopes.

Treat Mug

I made this treat up using the new Bohemia designer paper.

Inside view. I also used the new matching embossing folder to make the handle.

This is a super easy treat holder to make. It can be done with cardstock or

designer paper.

Here is the link to the utube video I used. If you would like to

make some. I thinking these would be great with Christmas colors for

gifts this year. The cups are pretty strong and hold a lot.

Day with Sarah

Wednesday was mom and daughter day.

We went shopping, had lunch at a tea room, and

got our hair cut.

At our table in the tea room.

First course tomato soup.

Tea sandwiches served with scones, and bread. We had

lemon curd, and devonshire cream to go with the scones and bread.

Brownie delight. And it was a delight!

Everything was so yummy.

Of course you can't go to a tea room and not have a pot of tea!

I thought I was going to burst from drinking all the tea, but it was

so good!

Another birthday gift that I need to fill up!

little holder to house one of them.

Seed Packet Gift using One Sheet Wonder

While going through some swaps I came across several

Completed One Sheet Wonders.

I used one of them to create today's project.

I cut the sheet to 11 x 4.

Inside view shows how it was folded to hold a business size

envelope. The envelop was sealed first ( I used a tape runner to seal it...cause

lets face it envelope glue tastes really bad! ) Then I cut

off both ends to create two pockets.

One pocket holds a little note card, and the other holds a packet of

flower seeds.

The gift is closed using velcro adhesive dots.

Make a cute little thank you gift.

I'm heading out early today. Me and Sarah have appointments to get our

hair cut and styled. Mine is so long! I haven't had it cut or even trimmed for

almost two years. After we will get some lunch then do a little shopping. Should be

a wonderful day!

Mini Coffee Cup with Holder

Still working on birthday gifts. This one

is a mini coffee cup. I used Sprinkles of Life to create

the cupcake on the front of the mug.

The carrier for the mini cup was made with two pieces of cardstock and tag punch.

Pretty simple to make. Shhhh....can't tell you who the gift is for.

I still have to figure out what I want to put in the cup.

Mailable Monday # 108

I'm back!

Sorry I stopped blogging for a week.

I started to shovel out the temporary upstairs craft area, and

I just didn't get too much time to stamp.

So today I'm offering up 4 mailable Monday cards featuring

Sprinkles of Life stamp set.

The upper right card uses watercolor paper that I colored with

Soft Sky, Pink, Pumpkin Pie, and Garden Green ink.

I stamped two of the clouds on vellum weight cardstock using

Smokey Slate ink. The other clouds were punched using

100 pound weight cardstock. Sun stamp is from Kinda Eclectic.

The bowl that is holding the ice cream scoops is from Work of Art stamp set.

I have birthdays coming up so I've been busy trying to get things made. Mad rush

to get things done before I am overwhelmed with the wedding.

Can you believe its June 1st!!!!
