Beautiful Prima Tag!

I got some wonderful happy mail from

my friend on Swappers Corner yesterday.

Kathleen and I are partners in the Julie Nutting tag swap.

She is so cute! The photo really doesn't do her justice.

Love the blues! The doll is colored in perfectly. And the lace! WOW

Kathleen also sent me other goodies.

Isn't the greeting "crafty friends are glued together"

just adorable!

Close up of the flower rosette.

and close up of the heart clips.

She did a great job color coordinating everything.

Another fun bag filled some die cuts and paper straws.

The little scissor envelope contains wood doll shapes. Which

I have been wanting to order. Now how did Kathleen know that?

Lots of Anna Griffin die cuts in wonderful holiday prints and solids.

Thank you so much Kathleen. Love it all! I was smiling all day

yesterday. Still am!

This afternoon I have to go and take a 3 hour training course on

how to work at the polls on November 8th. Looking forward to it but a

bit scared also. You know its something new, but I've always wanted to work at the polls.

So I'll be able to take that one off my bucket list.

Cherokee got her stitches out yesterday. She's healed up just fine. Hoping

her fur grows back well.

Christmas Embellishments

I've been working on some Christmas embellishments for

a swap I signed up for.

I have to make a total of 12 embellishments.

This is the first one I did. Don't  know

if you can see it in the photo but there is a clear plastic

tag glued over the Santa. I then added the metal tag that

has the word "magic" on it. To finish it off I added the

lace knot.

Here is another one I did. The designer paper I picked up at Hollo's

was printed with these wreaths. I punched one out with a scallop circle punch.

Sponged the edges with green then added the pearls and some wink of Stella.

This was then mounted with pop dots over a larger scallop punch piece.

This one was stamped with a script stamp, and edges sponged. I also glued

on some loops of very thin gold thread before the wreath piece was put on.

Well two down only 10 more to go!

I had a very nice surprise. Sarah called me about 4:30 yesterday afternoon, and

just wanted to drop over for a visit. We made dinner together and chatted. Always good

to see her. While she was here I got a call from the voting office. They

wanted to know if I would be willing to work at the polls on November 8th.

I told them I would love to. I have to go to training this Saturday. They are also

putting me in charge of the other people working at the polls at my location.

How cool is that! I've always wanted to work at the polls. Was going to do

it for the last election we had but didn't feel I was up to it so soon after I had

my knee replaced.

People have been asking me how Cherokee is doing.

She is recovering nicely. I'm taking her this morning to

get the stitches out. Thanks for caring about my 4 legged

fur baby.

Thanksgiving Pocket Letter from Peggy

I received this fun Thanksgiving theme

pocket letter from Peggy a crafting friend I met on

Swappers Corner.

The roasting marshmallows over an open fire is cute!

As are the little owls with wiggly eyes.

The entire pocket letter is great. The lonely

leafless tree on the bottom pretty much

sums up the end of Autumn and the beginning of Winter.

Peggy filled the back of the pockets with goodies and sweet

letter telling me all about herself.

So the Indians lost yesterday, but never fear there is

still plenty of games yet so they can pull it out. Charge on to Chicago!

GO TRIBE!!!!!

Christmas Pocket Flip Bag

Well here is my 3rd pocket flip bag. This

one of course is a Christmas theme.

I'm not so sure I'm as happy with this one as I was the Halloween,

and Thanksgiving one I did. For some reason

I just don't think it flows well, but I'm hoping my partner will like it.

You know we are always are our own worst critic.

Here are a few things that I made for the bag.

Rosette made from designer paper. Attached to a

paper straw.

The Santa is mounted on a stamped scallop circle.

I borrowed this idea from a fellow crafting friend Kathleen.

She send me a mini file folder with the Thanksgiving flip bag she made me.

Thanks Kathleen!

I changed it up for Christmas. Added pine trees from a Tim Holtz die. The

edges of the trees are brushed with clear wink of Stella. Bottom stamped trees

is from Lovely as a Tree set. I filled the inside with different die cuts.

Two of the tags I made. Added a package of trims.

I found a little kraft handled gift bag in my stash and decorated it.

So I have a bag in a bag!

Some clips. The bottom plaid clip is holding the punch art Santa ornament

on the front of the bag.

So YAY TRIBE!!! Not only did they win the first game of the World Series but

it was a shut out. 6 to zip! Only 3 more wins guys you can do it!

Some Clips, and Trees

Late Saturday afternoon I walked out into the back

yard and saw the sun shining on the top of this tree. It

was cloudy, and I just thought the tree looked beautiful being

frame by the sunbeam.

This tree is across the street from our house.

So pretty!

When I went to Hollo's last week I found 12x12 sheets of

designer paper that had printed postage stamps with vintage

Santa on them. I thought these would be great to make clip art

for all the upcoming Christmas swaps I'll be doing.

I sandwiched fuzzy fibers in between the printed image, and

a piece of vanilla cardstock with the jumbo paper clip in the center.

This one I added a metal tag that has the word believe on it.

This one I added a sprig of greenery, and a red button.

I also made some fall clips using silk, and metal leaves.

So the silk leaves would have some dimension I made a pleat

in the bottom and glued it with my hot gun tool.

The back was kept clean and finished by adding a button.

Mailable Monday #172

Well I took a trip to Michael's yesterday afternoon,

and found some Halloween goodies at 70% off.

SCORE!

The web was done with a stencil and black ink. Spider was

sponged with Pumpkin Pie ink.

After the stamping was finished I sprayed the entire card with

pearl mist from Tattered Angels.

Here is a side view. Hope you can see the glimmer on the cardstock.

Way cool!

I had been thinking about getting this set, but

talked myself out of it because I really didn't like

the witch stamp. But since the set was 70% off I picked it up.

Really love the web and words on the stencil.

Beautiful day! It was 65 yesterday will lots of sunshine.

Skip got some much needed work done in the yard, and we went out

for dinner. So anyone watch the Walking Dead last night? What did you think?

Prima Dolls, and Paper Dolls

Just sharing a few new stamps I recently purchased.

I'm hooked on Julie Nutting Prima doll stamps.

and because a gal has to have accessories I got

two packages of hats. The witch hat I showed you yesterday

on the witch tag I made.

As my Pinterest follows have seen I've also be into

paper dolls. Funny how when you get older you start to

rediscover the things you liked as a child. Well I least I've been doing that.

I always loved paper dolls. This teddy bear set I got over the summer at a

garage sale for a quarter. Haven't used it yet, but I'll get to it.

I didn't get to stamp yesterday. Spent some time cleaning the house.

Lately I've been neglecting it. Today hubby is taking me out for dinner,

and since the restaurant is close to Michael's, and Catan's I think I'll be

stopping there just to see if there is anything I need. I know I'm bad!!!

Halloween Witch Prima Doll Style

I made another tag yesterday afternoon, and now this

one is my favorite!

The doll is called Valentina. The

cauldron I got from a swap I was in. Thought

it was the perfect size to use on this tag.

I used a spider web embossing folder on the background layer.

I sanded off the black to show the light violet color under it.

Used coordination cardstock.

The designer paper for her hat, boots, and dress is

retired Halloween from SU.

I'm getting addicted to these tags. I bought

some more Julie Nutting Prima dolls and I'll

share those on tomorrows blog post.

Yesterday it rained all day. I could quote the Cat in Hat

all I did was sit, sit, sit! But I did get some crafting done.

Completed Family Art Journal

The art journal I started in September at a class the Brunswick

library offered is completed. Had fun making this and plan to make more.

Skip even asked me to do one with his family.

Inside cover.

Pull out from pocket.

I got to use my new Tim Hotlz photo wheel.

Close up view.

I made two one for the front an back of the pocket.

I made a black bow to go with the bows that the women are

wearing on there clothing.

The oldest photo I found was of my grandmother, and her sister taken

in 1918.

Inside back cover.

The next photos will be of the other side of the book.

One of the neat things about my family.....

Three sisters married three brothers. Not at the same time

of course, but all within a few years of each other. Mom always told

me about her "double 1st cousins"

Me and my brother got our musical talent from our Uncles.

I added some of the school photos of my mom's cousins.

I think the book came out really nice. Going to give it to my daughter either

for Christmas or her birthday in November. Nice keepsake.
