Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween to all the ghosts, and goblins out there!

I wanted to post of few photos today of how the house is

decked out for Halloween.

Hubby bought the dog at Marc's. Of course it is sound activated, and

makes the cat jump every time it goes off. LOL. Poor kitty. Cherokee

will be glad when Halloween is over. She likes the Christmas decor better.

Under the table the jack-o-lantern is on you can

see some flowers that I glued eyeballs on. These

were placed in a vase. I learned a neat trick from Melinda. She

put tissue paper in a vase to hold fake flowers. Holds the flowers well and

dresses up the vase.

Gargoyle I got at Big Lots while shopping with Sarah.

He flaps his wings, and talks really creepy, and yes the cat doesn't like him either!

Fall flower arrangement in a Longaberger basket.

I don't remember now if I posted photos of the mums Sarah brought me.

Very pretty! This photo was taken early in October and the flowers still look the same.

They are staying nice and fresh.

and hubby got the yellow mums for me. These I put outside

by the front door.

Hope everyone gets lots of candy and has a frightfully fun night!

Mailable Monday #216

L@@k  mom no layers!

Yep that is today's card. Fast and easy.

That is what I needed when I made this last night.

Still working on swap stuff, but I have a large chunk of it completed.

Going to stamp with my friend Betty today. That will be fun.

I've heard that she got some new stuff to play with. Can't wait!

Wanted to share this cute little Halloween card that

Kat sent to me. Thanks Kat!

Tomorrow is Halloween. This month has just whizzed by.

Later today me and hubby have to carve the pumpkin. I'll

post pics of that tomorrow.

Scrap Happy Sunday #2

Hey everyone. Sorry I've been not updating my blog

this past week. Just taking a break. Working on

some swaps that I can't share now because the ones

I'm swapping with have not received them yet. Also have

been working on getting the house ready for winter. Joy.

Speaking of winter.....We got snow flakes yesterday right

here in Brunswick. Big white wet fluffy flakes. Didn't last long,

and was fun to watch. So today's Scrap Happy Sunday card fits right in.

Remember last Sunday I posted that I will be making cards using only the items

that I found in this scrap bag

Lots of pieces and parts to use up.

Okay back to the card. There were two tags in the bag.

One navy, and the other one white glitter paper.

There are also several oval white tags. So I stamped one

with the snowman and used prisma pencils to color it in. Added some

sparkle with wink of Stella.

I thought the base card was missing something so I added some hand

drawn lines with a navy marker.

I had a scrap of the glitter paper left so I punched a few....

little frosty snowmen. Isn't it cute! I have an very old retired SU snowman punch

that I used. The hat was punched with navy cardstock.

That is all for now. I'll be back tomorrow with mailable Monday, and should be

on track to keep the blog updated daily.

Mini 3 Pocket Halloween Letter

I received this really cute mini Halloween 3 pocket letter

yesterday made by Evelyn.

Just love it! The skull and cross bones across the top just makes it!

Scary shaker card is in the last pocket.

Center pocket

Closer look at the first pocket. It is really very well made!

She also included a large bag of goodies to go with the letter.

Had fun on this swap. So Halloween is only a week away. Time

for me to start putting away the Halloween embellishments and stamps.

I need to make a few Thanksgiving cards. Then on to Christmas!

Scrap Happy Sunday #1

Okay I'm going to challenge myself with a bag of scraps I found

in one of the drawers in my craft room.

This card is completely made from scraps with the

exception of the base card.

The leaf layer I made a few years ago, and must have

had an extra that I wanted to keep. Of course thinking I would use it at

some point. I don't like to throw any piece of scrap away.

The dark brown layer was also in that scrap bag. It already had

the border at the bottom punched.

So here is the bag I found. Its full of junk!

I'll be honest when I found it my first thought was to trash it. One

less thing taking up much needed space in my stamping studio.

However I started pulling stuff out of the bag, and decided that I was going

to use every last piece. So each Sunday starting today I will be posting a card or

project that I made using what's in the bag. For an extra challenge I'm not going to cause more

scrap by adding to the bag. The only extras I will use is a base card, stamps, and embellishments.

That means no extra cardstock, or designer paper will be added.

Now I wonder how many things I can make with this "found" stuff?

ATC received for October

Just wanted to share some artist trading cards that I have received this month.

This one was made by Diane. The man with the umbrella is an embossing folder

by Tim Hotlz. Clever how Diane just lightly went over the embossed

image with gray ink. I also love the Space Needle! We lived in Washington state

for 5 years, and got to visit Seattle. We had to take a ferry to get there as

we lived across the Sound in Bremerton.

Next two were made by Bonita. She put them both in a library pocket.

Great job Bonita!

This little ghost is peeking out from behind a Fall leaf.

How fun! Made by Carolyn. Thanks ladies!

Now this little witchy kitty was made by three people.

It is part of the round robin ATC I participate in.

When I first received the card from Pamela it had the background paper and the kitty on it.

I added the witch hat on the cat, and the paw prints. Tanya added the greeting and the outline around

the card. Thanks girls! I really love how this one turned out.

It is another beautiful day here in Ohio! Going to be in the mid 70's all weekend, so I'll

be outside soaking in the sun!

Strange Tails from the Garden

Had to share some of the strange things we found at

the wrap up of the garden.

We have been getting some more tomatoes, but

there are only a few of them left so hubby will be taking

down the rest of the garden.

The green pepper in this photo is in fact a green

pepper, and not a hot pepper. For some reason instead

of it growing its normal shape it grew like this. Okay the

next photo is of the eggplant. Oh my goodness is it weird!

Are you ready?

Ta da! I give you the eggplant that

looks like it has Bob Hope's nose.

Could be something else, but I'm running a clean blog here people!

I told you it was strange!

I'm happy the garden is finished up for the season. It

was great while it lasted, and I have a ton of green beans,

and tomatoes put up to last the winter.

Thanks You's All Around

These are the thank you card I sent out last week.

Needed to send them out to special people who helped make

my birthday Happy!

I used Tim Holtz thinlits on the white layer, and

misc designer paper to back the layer. This is a great way to

use up some of that designer paper that I know we all have tons of!

Stamp set is by SU!

I also want to send out a big THANK YOU to my buddy Joe for designing the new

image header for my blog. Did you notice it? Scroll up and take a look.

It has my updated artwork, and matches the background for the bog. Love

the pinks and grays together.

Surprise from Kathleen

Isn't she the cutest thing?

Special thanks to my crafty friend Kathleen for

sending me a surprise on Monday.

The card is wonderful, but look at what else she made me.

It is a fully packed notebook.

Let's take a look inside.

So many wonderful pages, and pockets!

Pocket on the inside cover and a clear shaker pocket. How fun!

More pockets. and altered paper clips.

She put ribbon around a binder clip to attach the pen. Pretty clever!

Love those pretty blue bows.

Thanks for making my week Kathleen! I just love this so much. Its

on my desk, and I'm afraid I'm going to wear it out as I keep picking it

up and paging through it. LOL

Hugs!

Bootiful Witchy Tag

Now isn't this a witchy beauty?

Had such fun making her on Sunday.

It was rainy the perfect time to craft. Well.....

I don't think there is ever a bad day to craft.

Wanted to make sure I got a photo before the doors were

left open with the Bootiful Julie Nutting doll.

I had help from Emily. She was visiting, so I asked her make

the spell book for me. Isn't just too cute!!!!

Close up view of the witch. The cat is from the Cat Girl set.

The witch hat is a Tim Holtz stamp and matching thinlit.

I used the 1.00 stamps of bottles I got from Michael's for

the cupboard. Some of them I popped up and filled

with different stickers. Was trying to figure out an easy way to

make the shelves so I went with black lace.

On the other side I hung a broom. The

designer paper is by the Paper Studio. Got that at Hobby Lobby.

So happy with how this beauty turned out. Of course

I did add an easel to the back so I could display the tag.

Mailable Monday #215

Well this card was kooky, but fun to make.

I just grabbed some scraps that I had laying on my desk for

the layers.

The web on the purple and black layer was made using Tim Holtz

spider web stencil. On the black layer I used white pigment ink then

zapped it with my heat tool to set the ink.

The witch boot is from Bootiful Occasions by SU.

After I colored it I added a little eyeball sticker. I

thought the eyeball went well with the circle design on the boot.

All in all I'm pretty happy with it.

So it rained pretty much all day on Sunday. I got lots of crafting done.

Wait till you see what I post tomorrow.

Paris Artist Trading Card

I just had to post a photo of the great

artist trading card I received from my crafty friend

Jennifer. We swap cards each month on the Pennywise Art group.

Love how she made a matching envelope and card to match

the trading card, and I love Paris themed anything so

this was perfect! Thanks Jennifer!

Had to take one more photo to show the handmade paper she used to

wrap the card. Awesome!

Yesterday was so beautiful. Great day to walk in the woods, and

crunch through the leaves. Forgot my camera. To bad as I could have

got some great photos. Oh well....next time.

Emily is coming over today so you know what that means.....

spaghetti for dinner!

Memorydex Holder

Since I've been collecting, and trading memorydex cards

I really needed a place to store them all.

Have been meaning to make a box to hold them, and

finally got a chance to do that yesterday afternoon.

Shhhh don't tell anyone, but I had to make a craft store

run to find the wooden spools I needed to make the legs for the

holder.

Thought the bare spools was a little pain so I wrapped them

with twine.

Flowers on the front were purchased at Hobby Lobby. Only

.75 cent for a package of 4 in the clearance section.

I'm wishing now that I would have used the same designer paper

on the bottom of the box. Also thinking that I should have

sponged the dowels with some brown ink.

Well I'm sure I will need to make another holder at some point so

I've learned from my mistakes on this one.

Pretty cool that the holder can be made with just one sheet of 12x12 cardstock.

Fall Themed Coffee Sleeve

I received this cute Fall themed coffee sleeve swap

in yesterday's mail.

So full of fall colors.

Love this little girl sitting on a pumpkin!

Janie also made a memorydex card to put in

the coffee sleeve.

Here is a closer look on how the front was decorated.

It always amazes me that the coffee sleeve can hold so many goodies!

Speaking of Fall....I finally made some pumpkin spice cupcakes yesterday.

I was in the mood to bake and what goes better in the fall than pumpkin baked anything?!!!

So is anyone afraid to go out on Friday the 13th?
