Tree, Santa, and more

Tree went up on Saturday. One day later

than I normally put it up.

But its up and looks good.

Here is a nigh time view when lit.

This is another Christmas tradition. Someone

my mom knew made this ceramic Santa for her back

in the early 70's. Mom always put it out on Thanksgiving.

When it got passed to me I continued to do that.

Merry Christmas to Skip early.

He decided to buy a new large screen TV at Costco over

the long weekend. Him and John got it in the house

and set up. Which started a chain reaction of moving TVs

in the house. The one that use to be in the living room got moved

to Skip's "man" cave and mounted on the wall.

The one that was in the cave got moved to our bedroom and got mounted

to the wall. What a weekend!

Buffalo Chicken Baseballs

So baseball season might be over, but

I can still enjoy making and eating these

buffalo chicken baseballs.

Made with crescent rolls.

The filling is a can of Tyson cooked chicken,

3 oz cream cheese, chopped celery, chopped onion, 2 tablespoons

olive oil,

and some Franks Hot sauce.

One can of crescent rolls will make 4 baseballs.

Topped with a little sprinkle of bread crumbs and

baked in a 375 degree oven for 25 minutes.

I like to make these in the fall, and winter months. Warms

up the kitchen and they smell wonderful.

Mailable Monday #176

Happy Monday!

Today's card is made with shades of blue.

Base card is Tempting Turquoise, also the sponging.

Snowflakes stamped with Marina Mist, and the

greeting is stamped with Bermuda Bay.

Stamp set Flurry of Wishes.

Nope this isn't for Mailable Monday.

This is an Ugly Sweater artist trading card.

I joined an ugly sweater swap and this is what

I came up with. Cherry Cobbler layer was run through

SU Argyle folder.

Trees were stamped on Wild Wasibi cardstock with Cherry Cobbler,

and Always Artichoke ink. Punched with the matching tree punch.

Of course I had to add some sparkle so I used icicle Stickles on the trees.

And the entire card was sprayed with Tattered Angels.

Didn't want to make it to ugly to like. Have to say I'm happy with it.

So the tree is up and the house is decorated as much as it is going to be.

Next thing to finish up presents that have to be mailed.

Then finish up Sarah's wedding scrapbook. Have to have it finished

so I can give it to her for Christmas. Have to schedule a day for the kids

to come over to bake cookies. Have to write out Christmas cards.

Tick, tick, tick!

Ornament, and More Swaps

Hubby got me this cute little sewing machine ornament

last week when we were at JoAnn's.

It has a pink top and I think it will work

well on my Barbie tree. Which

I didn't put up again this year.

We opted to put up the large tree.

Reason....I still don't trust Cherokee with

the Barbie tree. If she were to knock it down my

Hallmark Barbie ornaments would break and that

would make me very sad. So hopefully next year

I'll be able to put it up.

I received this cute Christmas pocket letter

from my birthday  twin Cindy a few days ago.

So festive! Thanks Cindy!

I also received a Christmas theme grab bag from

Caryn. She filled the stocking with the crafting goodies.

Lots of little misc fun things to craft with.

So today I'm going to finish putting up the

decorations. Then I have some

more crafting to do, and sometime today

I'd like to go Pat Catan's and Michaels.

At least I won't have to cook. I have a ton of

turkey noodle soup, and other leftovers.

I'll have time to do some things I need and want to do!

Swaps!

I received several swaps in yesterdays mail and I wanted to post them.

This one is a Christmas ATC swap.

Debbie sent a few extras.

She also told me she loves Raggedy Ann dolls.

This skating Ann is really cute!

Next up is a Christmas tag from Rosalie.

She also included a few extra goodies.

This tag is so cute. Love the little

kids building a snowman. What

an old fashioned Christmas theme!

And this swap is from Nicole. We swapped 5 Christmas cards.

Some of them are gift card holders, and some open up differnently

in the front.

Love the embossed tree. Which opens when you pull the

edges of the tree.

How it looks opened.

Red bird on a holly branch interlinks, and...

Here is what it looks like opened.

This one of the gift card holders. So sweet with the little felt heart.

Inside view. Like how she also placed a heart on the inside.

Santa suit gift card holder.

Inside view.

And the last one is a package.

Here is an inside view once the ribbon is

untied.

Thanks ladies! Great swaps.

Well I did something that I never did before.....

I didn't put the tree up yesterday. Skip wanted

to shop so we did that. Afterward I was

just to tired, as I didn't get much sleep the night before and

I think I was just worn out from prepping, making, and cleaning up

after the big Thanksgiving dinner. But I got some sleep last night, and

will be getting the tree up today.

Right now the house smells so good as I'm boiling the bones from the

turkey to make stock for the turkey noodle soup I'm making today. YUM!

Thanksgiving 2016

We had a good Thanksgiving. Lots of food, and

visiting with the family.

I meant to post this card yesterday. Thanks Kat. She

used a leaf embossing folder that she got from Pat Catan's while

she was visiting in August.

Also received this cute ATC from Brooke. Thanks Brooke!

Remember those Boston Cream pie cupcakes I was making

for Sarah on Wednesday....here is a pic.

And here is a pic of the inside. You can see the cream filling.

This was the first time I made filling for a cupcake. Came out

pretty good. Made dark chocolate ganache for the top.

Table all set for dinner.

Emily brought us chocolate covered pretzels from Malleys. YUM

She made the cute turkey card. Thanks Emily! Great to have you

over to share Thanksgiving with us.

Sarah made pumpkin pie.

Everyone kicking back after eating a big dinner.

Emily always has a big smile, and likes getting her

picture taken....John not so much!

So today we will be putting up the tree. Also

thinking about checking out the Mall just to see the holiday decorations.

I have no desire to get up early and do Black Friday shopping.

Don't Get Your Tinsel in a Tangle!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Here is my latest prima doll tag.

I'm so thrilled how she came out.

This doll's name is Audrey.

I hand cut the tree then embossed it with a basket folder from Darice.

The packages are the bottom are different sized designer paper pieces.

Silver tinsel is by Tim Holtz. Love it! It reminds me of the old time

tinsel from from 60's that my mom put on the tree.

The expression "don't get your tinsel in a tangle"

was done on the PC and printer.

And look....I took a tip from my crafty friend Kathleen,

and added some designer paper to the back.

I'll have photo's to post tomorrow from Thanksgiving.

I made Sarah boston cream pie cupcakes so I'll

be sure to post those. They were fun to make. I've

never filled a cupcake before.

Have a great day!

Happy Birthday to Sarah!

Happy Birthday to my beautiful daughter Sarah!

She is 34 today. Where does the time go!

Sarah was named after several people.

This is Sarah with her Great Aunt Sarah Elizabeth. To us

her nick name was Aunt Tootsie.

She was also named after me and my grandmother Lucy Jane.

We both share the middle name of Jane.

And one final person a character on Dr. Who.

Sarah Jane Smith. She was the companion of the 4th Doctor.

I always admired her for her strong will, and how she

was able to reason with the Doctor.

Just some photos I got together. Some of these are

going into her wedding book that I'm still working on!

Love her wearing daddy's sailor hat.

The lower photo is from when we lived on Guam. Look at that tan!

Sarah you grew up to be a truly lovely lady.

So proud of you!

Happy birthday, and mom's making you cupcakes!

And just think next year your birthday will be on Thanksgiving so

we can have cake and eat our pumpkin pie to!

Prima Doll Ornament and Happy Mail

Well I made something a little different.

This is half of a plastic ball ornament.

Used Merry and Nice prima doll on the inside.

She is next to a cream color tree.

These are mounted on sheet music. The packages

were cut from a sheet of designer paper.

I wrapped lace and ribbon around the edge.

Here is back view. I used another piece of designer paper

to hide the edges of the lace.

Wish I could have taken a better photo, but I kept

getting a glare even when I turned off the flash.

I got happy mail yesterday from my friend Kathleen.

She is the best! Take a look....

We both love the Julie Nutting prima dolls.

Beautiful tag.

I really love how she also adds to the back of the tag

Really adds a nice touch!

Folded poinsettia ornament.

Love the angel. She used a snowflake glittered sticker

to make the halo. How clever!

Thanks so much Kathleen!!!!

I spent a big part of yesterday cleaning the house.

I didn't want to have a lot to do on Wednesday as I'll

be busy doing some prepping on that day for dinner

I'll be making on Thanksgiving.

Till tomorrow....
