Parchment Paper Bags

These are little bags I made using a roll

of parchment paper I got at the Dollar Tree.

So easy to make, and with one roll of paper you could

be making them for years! Don't think I'll be making

them that long as I'm sure I'll find other uses for the parchment paper.

These have been decorated with a bit of lace, greeting, flower, and fabric ruffle.

Had fun making these. I'll be using them for junk journals.

Pretty hot outside. I may venture out a bit later if me and hubby

can find a shady place to walk. Going to spend most of my day crafting, and

putting my craft room back together. I also have a few birthday cards to make.

Can't believe our son John will be 32 in a few weeks. Where oh where does the time go?

Tea Party Invites

So I'm going to be 60 in September.

Decided to have a tea party. Always wanted to have a high tea party, and

this is a good age for me to have one.

Was going to have it at Miss Molly's Tea Room in Medina,

but with the virus I think it is better to have at our home.

My dear friend Kathleen made these tea party invites for me.

Just perfect! Big thanks Kathleen!

I just love them! Colors for the party are going

to be purple, and pinks. Purple is in memory of my brother

Tony. It was his favorite color.

So now I'm in the planning stages. Good thing about the end

of September is the weather is normally good. I have plan

to have some of the party outside on the back patio.

I'm going to hit up the local thrift stores to find some mismatched tea

cups, and saucers. Just like they have at tea rooms! At the end I'll

let the guests take their cup home with them as a party favor. What fun!

With this party I might even enjoy turning 60.

Little Lady Liberty ATC

While I was playing with the cricut air 2 machine yesterday I

had the machine draw this adorable little lady liberty.

She is just to cute!!!!

Colored her in with shades of green Prisma pencils.

Added some red stripes in the background, and defined them with a black marker.

Added little star rhinestones to the centers of the blue stars, and added a blue border.

Went to Tuesday Morning yesterday after me, and hubby finished our morning walk.

A lot of the craft section was empty. Not use to seeing that! They had arrows

all over the floor so you could only walk one direction down the aisles.

I found a few little craft things, and one larger one. Share those in another post.

I also got 5 packs of printed napkins that I'll be using for junk journal projects. There

are so many pretty printed napkins! The ones I picked up were in the clearance dept.

Can't wait to create!

Little Yellow Dress

I'm still loving my Cricut Air 2 machine.

The machine drew this image for me onto an artist trading card.

Colored it using Prisma pencils, and gel pens.

Now I have to tell you this is the finished card.

This is how plain Jane she was till I got a little help

from my favorite daughter in law Emily.

She suggested I add some blue flowers to the hat, and little

dots to the outfit. What a difference it made!

Thanks Em!

I can always count on Emily to help me out. That girl is just so talented!

Snippit Paper Roll

Since I started getting addicted to junk journals I'm

making more paper scraps than ever!

What to do?

Found a video on You Tube showing how to make a paper snippit roll.

Okay so what is that?

I think of it as a crazy quilt except instead of using fabric you

use bits, and pieces of paper scraps.

For the base I used a cash register roll that I picked up at Hollo's

paper store last week. They were actually giving a stack of them away

for free! So I got about 10 of them.

After I glued down all the bits, and pieces I ran three rows of stitching

down the piece using my sewing machine. I think you can

skip this step as the glue holds all the pieces down, but I like

the look the stitching gives.

So I'm sure the next question is how will you use this?

The idea is to cut or tear off pieces from the strip, and

use them for pockets or side bars in junk journals. I

know I'm going to be making lots of these, as they

are relaxing to make!!!!! This girl loves

collage, and shabby chic plus I have lots of scraps

so this is a project with my name all over it!

Coffee Themed Homemade Stickers

Do it yourself coffee themed stickers.

These were made using label sheets that I got at Office Supply.

Only thing you have to keep in mind when making these is to

use smaller stamps.

This was made using even small sized labels.

Been raining the past two days. Looking forward

to a dyer day. Still have been able to catch an hour

each day to get some walking in.

Went to Michael's yesterday morning, and got

some hot buy paper pads that were on sale for 4.99.

Picked up four of them. Didn't see much else.

They changed some stuff in the paper crafting dept.

Almost all the stamps are gone. Lots of stuff on

clearance, but the clearance prices I thought were still to

high.

Going to Betty's today. Hubby is going to cut down two

trees for her. They are smaller trees, and shouldn't take to long to cut.

Waterfall Tag Album

Now this was a fun project!

A waterfall tag album. I know I will making more of these as

I think they would make perfect gifts.

This one was done in a coffee theme, and swapped with my crafty friend Kathleen.

The base tag is heavy chipboard. Had to get hubby to help punch the hole in the top center.

What would I do without him?

Inside view at some of the pages.

Bottom side can be used for photos, and the top can be

used for journaling.

This page has a small pocket. I added a few extra things

that can be used to embellish the photo pages.

Last page.

I went back after I took a photo of this, and added

a wood flower to the last tab on the side.

Close up view of the side tabs. I used some old scrabble tiles

embellishments.

Close up view of some more details.

I tied a cup and saucer charm to the ends of the ribbon.

Speaking of ribbon I used seam binding, and crinkled it by getting it

wet then wadding up in my hand.

Loved doing this fun project.

More 8x8 Ephemera Folder Happy Mail

I am still making 8x8 ephemera holders to send out

as happy mail to my crafty friends.

This one was sent to my friend Kym.

It's summer so perfect time to do a beach theme holder.

Inside view.

Butterfly cover on the next one. I liked the little air mail tag at the

bottom sort of goes with the butterfly. This one went to Cindy.

Little bird, and flower themed one. This one went to Natalie.

I'm still making these, and finding they are like potato chips...just can't

eat, or in my case make just one.

So if you are one of my crafty friends you just might find one in your

mailbox one day.

Coffee Cup, Box, and Mini Circle Pocket

I have a few little projects to share with you today.

My swap partner, and crafty friend Kathleen received her

box yesterday so I'm clear to post.

We did a coffee theme for this swap.

The first project is a little coffee cup. Filled it with candy.

The next little project is a acetate box I filled with some brown shreds

and a box of instant coffee.

The cup on the front was stamped, and I added a the straw.

The little Starbucks icon I cut from one of their coffee sleeves.

Next little project is a loaded mini circle.

Filled with more little coffee goodies.

I posted one of these circle projects last week. This

one I did a bit different as I added a half circle to the back, and made

some cute little tags to fill it with.

I'll be posting more swap stuff this week. Lots to show you!

Alice in Wonderland Birthday Gift Bag

Back with another Alice in Wonderland project.

The gift bag was a free template in a craft magazine

I picked up at Joann's last week. The magazine also

came with the pattern paper, and Alice stamp set.

Name of magazine Cardmaking & Papercraft issue 205.

They used ribbon for the handles on the gift bag, but seeing how

I wanted my handles to match the layer I used on the front I cut

strips of carstock, and used that for the handles.

This magazine also came with lots of printed toppers to use

on cards or other projects, so I'm thinking I'll be making many

more "Alice" things.

Alice in Wonderland Seed Packet Shaker

Someone gave me these seed packets last year.

Can't remember who now, anyway

I decided to try to turn one into a shaker card.

The envelope already had the clear window. I cut a small amount

off the top bottom, and left side of the packet. I also trimmed off

the flap.

I used ephemera from the Tim Hotlz Field Notes

collection. Didn't think I would ever use the mushrooms, but

they work perfect for Alice in Wonderland theme.

Ran the front side of the envelope with a cross stitch embossing folder.

Used foam strips to the back of the window to create the shaker.

Not going to use this on a card. I'm think it will go into a junk journal I'm

currently working on.

8x8 Embellishment Holder

While going through a drawer of misc paper I found

a few 8x8 paper packs that I got from Archivers. Remember that craft store?

Since the paper is double sided I thought I could make some embellishment

holders using them. A few days ago I made a holder using a piece of 12x12 paper.

You can see it here

Pretty easy just to size the holder down.

Everything used to decorate the cover I found in my scrap bin.

Here is an inside view.

There are four pockets that can be filled with misc ephemera.

I can see myself making many more of these embellishment folders. Would be

great for happy mail for my crafty friends.

Me and hubby took a walk early this morning. Going to be hot one today, so

we wanted to walk when it was a bit cooler.

Embellishment Holder

Well I have to say I love the printer John got, and installed for me.

The little girl, buttons, and rose background paper were all printed

on the ink-jet Canon printer.

I added bits, snippets, and pieces of ephemera.

Made with a single sheet of 12x12 paper.

After the folds are made it has four pockets to put this, and

that in. Haven't decided if I'm going to gift it or put

it in a journal. I'm getting into making journals these days.

We had a cool weekend temp wise. Got lots of walking in.

Since it was cooler I did a little baking, and made spaghetti for

Sunday's dinner. Also did a lot of crafting.

Had to get the vacuum out to find the floor! At

one point even our cat Cherokee was confused by the mess.

My first 8x8 Album

My first 8x8 album. Made this for a swap with Kathleen.

She says I'm getting better with the album making, but I still

have my doubts. I'm nowhere near the beautiful ones she creates.

First look at the inside cover. This album has many fold out pages.

We are still looking at the inside cover. The page flips up, and out.

Still the inside cover.  You can see on the right the 1st signature.

Back of first signature. Cover of the second. I'll never understand

why they refer to these units as signatures.

There is a tri-fold opening.

Open.

Back page of the second signature, and front page of the next.

I made a starburst card to put on the page.

Opened up view.

Back cover of third signature, and cover of the fourth.

opened view.

Back of fourth, and inside back cover.

The back opens up into a tri-fold.

This was a lot of work, but well worth it.

Kathleen loved it. I'll be back tomorrow to show the one she created.

Quilt card made with Design Space

Now that my crafty friend Kathleen has received her swap

box I can start posting the projects I made for her.

This is another card design using the cricut air 2 machine.

Love the quilt pattern. At 5 x 7 this card is larger than I normally

make, but I could get use to making larger cards.

Me, and hubby just got back from a very long walk.

Since it will be hitting 93 today, and be hot and muggy we

decided to walk earlier. Glad for that! I'll be staying indoors

the rest of the day, and soaking up the AC!

It will be nice, and comfortable in the Stamping Chateau!

Learning about SVG Files

My son John came over yesterday. It was so good to see him again!

Haven't seen him since the 1st of March.

Too long!!!!!

He brought me a printer, and installed it.

So happy to have one!!!!

I'm just learning how to upload svg files to the Cricut Air 2 machine.

Cool feature! You can upload images, print them out then the machine

scans the images then cuts it!

The little girl image was made this way. I colored her in with prisma pencils.

The little butterfly is also a print and cut file.

Enlarged the same butterfly image to use on the inside.

This large butterfly beauty is a print, and cut file

that is part of the many found on Design Space.

The ink jet printer John got for me prints so well! This

is going to allow my crafts to soar to new heights!

I may never come out of my stamping chateau again! LOL
