Campbell's Soup Kids Artist Trading Cards

My latest artist trading cards.

Mmmm, Mmmm good! That's what Campbell's soup is

mmm, mmm, good!

I didn't change these cards very much.

Just trimmed off the edges, and mounted them to red checked

patterned paper. Then added some buttons, and trim.

I bought a box of these at a garage sale years ago.

They have been sitting in a drawer gathering vintage dust just

waiting for me to do something with them! I paid two dollars for the cards.

Pretty good for a 100 cards. They have all types of different designs.

Christmas, Halloween, New Year, and many others. Going to

enjoy making some more projects with them. I read

somewhere that Kraft is reportedly interested in buying Campbell's.

How times change. Every time I open a can of Campbell's I still

hear the theme from Lassie. Now that tells you how old I am!!!!

Not my Fault Mom

While Cherokee looks purrr-fectly innocent

sitting on mom's crafting desk.....believe me she is not!

I normally try to keep her off the desk as it is almost always messy, and

has craft stuff that I don't want her to get her little claws on.

However the other day she jumped up before I could stop her,

and look what she did.....

She knocked a pack of opened buttons off the desk, and

they scattered everywhere.

Cherokee didn't even offer to help me pick them up.

She sat on my desk waiting for me to finish so I

could pet her.

Just can't stay mad at a fur ball that purrrrrrs.

Me and hubby went to see Jurassic World yesterday.

While it was pretty predicable it was still very entertaining,

and who doesn't love Chris Pratt?

Santoro Dolls on ATC

I've been working on some swaps for a facebook group

that I joined.

Love the little Santoro dolls. Most are only 3 inches long.

The paper that I used is from DCWV. Sarah got it for my 50th

birthday. The name of the paper? Hippie Chic. Perfect for me.

And here is another set. Love that horse. Emily saw them and said

the way I colored the horse reminds her of Starlight. Rainbow Bright's horse

remember Rainbow Bright?

Had a great afternoon visiting with my friend Kat, and her son Josh.

The kids all came over also. Had chicken, sides, and I made an Oreo

ice cream cake for Kat's birthday. It was a good day.

Wildlife at Brunswick Lake

Saw some wildlife last week while taking a walk around

Brunswick Lake. Happy to see the deer back in the park.

This little girl was just having her breakfast without a care in the

world, and didn't mind getting her picture taken.

I was only a few feet away from her.

This turtle was on a log just next to one of the bridges along the lake.

Poor little guy. Looks like a bird had been sitting on him and decided

to use his shell for the restroom. Think this turtle could use a wash,

and shine with Turtle Wax!

On the other side of the lake at the dam this little turtle was

sunning on a rock.

At the end of the lake close to the peninsula the ducks were resting and sunning themselves.

There was a mother with her young children on the bridge trying to fee the ducks

but they wanted to sleep. They did get the attention of  a large carp with the bread they

were throwing in the water.

tried to get a photo of the carp but you can hardly see it. It was huge!!!!

When we got home I snapped this photo of a humming bird at the feeder.

I need to take photos of the garden to share as I haven't done that this season.

People have been asking me if we planted one, and the answer is yes we did.

Sending Loads of Love

I made a few cards while stamping at Betty's

a few days ago. I really love this one.

Just a clean and simple card. The load of laundry was

colored with pencils.

I should have took Betty's advise on this one and put the greeting on the inside....

The bra top would have looked better on the outside of the card.

Oh well....next time!

We got some rain and thunder yesterday. The rain was really needed.

Going over to visit with John, and Emily today. Haven't seen the apartment

since they got it all fixed up.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

Sending Wishes your Way

I had one lonely panel left from that 12x12

sheet of patterned paper so I had to use it up!

No modeling film used on this one.

Just some lace to dress it up. The panel is popped up over

the bottom layer. I cut off the lower piece of the panel and used

it to make the banners at the bottom.

Greeting from Stampin'Up.

We had fun last night watching the fireworks. I'll be posting photos tomorrow.

I'm off to the post office, then for a walk. Hope

everyone enjoyed the longest day of the year. When we

came home from the show there were a ton of lightening bugs in our backyard,

so we got to see two shows.

Torn Panel Modeling Film Butterfly

With this patterned paper panel I tore it in half on the bias.

The bottom layer was stamped with a script stamp. I then

layered a piece of window sheet on top of it.

The torn panel was layered over that.

Hoping that this photo shows the window sheet. I like how

it makes the space between the torn panel shine.

and here is a closer look at the butterfly that was done with modeling film.

Going to the Brunswick celebration today, then later watch the firework show.

So nice to be able to watch this from our backyard.

Modeling Film Beautiful Friend

Well I said I was done with the modeling film for awhile.....

well it's been awhile right?

Had two panels left from the 12x12 piece of patterned paper, and

it was calling my name to put them on cards.

The layer was done using Tim Holtz distress oxide inks, and the Gothic stencil.

Here is a side view of the modeling film wings. I colored the back of the wings with

a pink sharpie marker.

Added some black pearls done the center of the butterfly to

hide how I attached the wings with a mini staple.

Going to stamp with Betty this afternoon.

Haven't stamped with her for two weeks so I'm looking forward to it.

Just a Brief Note

Happy Tuesday!

This card should have been posted yesterday for mailable Monday, but

I was having trouble getting the blog to work.

The briefs were stamped on patterned paper with black ink. Then popped over the white layer.

For the greeting I used my Dymo label maker.

Hubby had fun with Sarah on Father's day. Her and Jason came over. She helped

him weed the garden then they all went swimming. While they were doing that

I was grilling potatoes, and salmon for dinner.

Jason left to go spend time with his dad. Sarah and her dad went

to check out the new Scene 75 that opened last year.

Instead of wack a mole, they played wack a minion. LOL

We have been in a heat wave for the last few days. Been in the 90's.

Suppose to be a little cooler today. Thank goodness!

While I do love the hot temps, 90 + the humidity is a bit much.

Thankful that we had central air put in last winter when the heater went out.

Was a big expense, but so worth it!

Misc Ephemera Kit Cards

So I've been going through craft supplies, and trying my best to use them.

(before I buy more!)

Came across this  little ephemera kit, and had to use it up!

Was able to make eight cards, and two gift tags that are in cute little

paper bags.

Didn't use any stamps on the cards just the items in the kit.

Of course I did have to use my own cardstock for the cards.

So I think they came out cute. It will make a nice little gift when

I get it packaged up. Never to early for Christmas gift making.

Blue Giraffe Baby Boy Card

Okay I'm back today to share a baby boy card idea.

This one was done using a large oval punch, 1/2, 3/4, and 1 inch circle punches.

Also used bird builder punch, and window punch. All from Stampin'Up.

The mane was made using a strip of blue cardstock, and fringe scissors.

This is actually my second attempt at making a giraffe baby card.

The first one I decided was to brown, and didn't make for a happy baby card.

Plus I didn't add the mane. Take a look....

Now there are things I like about this one. I like the

cracked designer paper in the background.

I also like that the colors on the giraffe are more contrasting, but

I like the face the on the blue giraffe better. Love to hear your thoughts as

I haven't put this one in the mail yet.

Baby Elephant Punch Art Card

My friend Kat asked me to make an elephant baby card

for a shower she is attending.

Only to happy to help out a friend!

The head of this elephant started out with the large oval punch from

StampinUp.

After tracing around most of the oval I free hand sketched the rest of the trunk.

The ears are also made with the large oval punch. I just trimmed them off on one side to

give them more shape.

The body piece was completed hand sketched to fit the head.

Tail is from the tree builder punch, and the little tip of the tail was

made with part of the boho punch.

here is an inside view of the card.

I'll be back tomorrow to share a boy baby card.

Modeling Film Unicorn

Today's card is the last (for now) one made

using modeling film. Can't tell you how much I have enjoyed

using this medium! Going to have to order some more of it.

So what do you think of this unicorn?

Love, love, love how he turned out.

Let's take a closer look at that horn!

I cut two narrow pieces of the modeling film and tapered it. Having

the strips larger at the bottom and tapered at the top.

Next step was to heat both of the strips, and twist the two pieces together.

I had to twist, then heat, twist, and heat till I got the piece completed.

I then took a gold sharpie marker and added gold to the twisted horn. Hope

you can see this in the photo. Of course when I showed it to hubby he

said the horn was too long, and it looked more like a sword, but I like how it

turned out.

The background piece was done using texture paste and a stencil.

I added ink, brass spray, and pearl spray to the background after

the texture paste was dry.

The flowers around his neck were made with a very small punch.

I'll be back tomorrow with a little change of pace as I had to make some

baby cards.

Coloring Modeiling Film

Still not finished with the modeling film.

After today's post I'll have one more card to show then

I'll be finished with them for a bit.

I really love the butterflies on this paper panel.

The butterfly was flat on the panel so I used the craft knife again

and cut out around the wings leaving the body in the center intact.

Just wanted the wings to lift off the panel.

Here is a side view showing how the wings are cut away from the panel.

the modeling film was cut in the same shape then outlined with a black sharpie marker. I also colored the

under side of the modeling film with a pink sharpie marker. You can see in the photo

that the wings on the paper are blue, and the modeling film wings are pink.

Attached the wings to the card with a mini staple, with a row of pearls to hide how it is attached.

Used wink of Stella on the paper butterfly, and around the roses.

 Better look at the wings.

I'll be back tomorrow with another card. Hope you check back!

Dragonfly with Double Modeling Film Wings

Since there are nine panels on the one sheet of 12x12 paper from stamperia

I'm still using them to make cards.

And because I have a new found love of modeling film I'm still

working with that medium as well.

This has to be my favorite card of the ones I've been recently making.

I wanted the wings to be be the focal point of this card so I cut

two of them.

The bottom set of wings I outlined with a black sharpie marker.

The top set of wings really needed sparkle!

To achieve that look I first inked them randomly with Versamark ink.

Next I sprinkled on some iridescent ice embossing powder, and heat set.

Now since I was using modeling film, and heat embossing I was

doing to things at once. While using the heat tool to emboss I was

also bending the wings the way I wanted them to be in the finished product.

Both sets of wings were stapled in the middle then stapled

again over the dragonfly. In this photo you can see the layered wings. So

happy with look! As a finishing touch I added the black, and white pearls.

To get even more "pop" on the card I used a craft knife, and

cut out the words at the bottom of the panel. The piece was then layered

on green cardstock. I used pop dots to place the words back on the panel.

Stop back tomorrow as I'll have another great modeling film card to share.

Fairy Girl using Modeling Film Wings

Okay I just have to say I'm having way to much fun creating

artwork with  modeling film!

I'm also loving stamperia paper! Found a few sheets at Hollo's.

The sheets are sold there for 1.15 each. The ones I got have 9 different panels.

I'll be posting another one tomorrow that is way cool!

Okay back to this card.

Lovely little fairy girl. So sweet!

I cut the modeling film in the shape of her wings. Then

heated and bent how I thought they would look the best.

Here is a side view so you can see the wings I created.

The wings were attached with a mini staple. I added the string of pearls,

leaves, and rose over the staple. To finish the piece I added a few little

pearls to her hair.

The background was done with Tim Holtz Doily stencil using blue,

and pink re-inkers.

While I'm thrilled with this card the one I'll be posting tomorrow is my favorite.

Check back tomorrow and see.
