Sleeping Bunnies
I was playing around this evening. Not really what I was going for. I hate it when I have an idea in my brain but can't quite get that idea onto the cardstock. The sleeping bunnies is an old stamp. I was rummaging though some of my single stamps and came across this one. I still think the "Potter" bunnies are cute! Next time I'm going to break out the prisma pencils and see if I can get better results than what I did with the aqua painter.
Hard week at work. Drama drama drama with some of the new seasonal staff. I hope that next weeks class will go better.
I came home with a headache and still have it. I'm going to go plop myself in front of the tv and just chill out for awhile. Maybe I'll have some more energy tomorrow.
Happy Friday!!!

What Came First? The Ribbon or the Card?
Me and my friend Lisa have been joking about this for weeks now. Every time I make a card seems like I just don't have the right ribbon to go with it, and believe me......I have tons of ribbon. Seems like I could just make a card go over to the ribbon shelve and have one right there to match the card. WRONG!!! So I have been telling her that the next time I make a card I'll select the ribbon first then work the cardstock, ink and stamps around the ribbon I choose. Well I did just that with this Purrrfect card! The ribbon I picked up at Michael's in the dollar bin. I liked the paisley on the ribbon. The border at the bottom of the card is a stamp from See-D's. Other stamps: Pun Fun, Paisley back ground. Another thing about this card is I used colors I don't normally use. I can't remember the last time I used Yo Yo Yellow or Only Orange for that matter.
Still a few hours left to get in on the blog candy. I'll be drawing the winner later this evening. Good Luck

Sketch Challenge #6
Taking another Techno Monday Lunch Challenge http://technostamper.blogspot.com/
This didn't come out the way I had hoped. In hind site I shouldn't have used such a large stamp in the lower left hand corner. Love the layout. I'll be trying this one again. Stamps: See-De's French Quarter, Stampin'Up! French Script, and Always. Colors: So Saffron, Bordering Blue, and Close to Cocoa.
Glad Monday is over. It was a tough day. I had a new training class. Half were returning from last season and two were new. It's very hard to train new and returning staff together. My hats off to old time school teachers who taught many different grade levels in one classroom. It isn't easy! Hopefully today will be better. The two returning staff will be out of my training room, then I can just focus on the new staff.
Hubby's birthday is today. Happy Birthday Honey!!! He is 51 years young today. I bought him a cake. I was going to make one but I was just to beat after work. I got him another Home Depot gift card. He still has lots from Christmas, but at least this way he'll have more money to spend for home improvements when the weather gets warmer. And speaking of weather......more snow on the way for us. YAY just what I wanted.....NOT

Drat the Weekend is Over
The weekends go by way to fast!!! You're looking at a gal who really just doesn't like Monday Mornings! I think I'm related to Garfield the cat. I did go to bed early last night 10:30 that's early for me, but then I woke up at 4:30 so here I am instead of going back to bed to catch a few more ZZZZ's I'm at the computer typing up my blog post for the day. I'll be exhausted when I get home, and most likely will take a nap.
I did some damage yesterday at Pat Catan's...44.00 worth. Well in all fairness to me all of it was not mine. I shopped for two friends also, so I only spent 22.00 Which is pretty good for me. Of course I bought more stamps, and like I really need more rubber. We all know I don't:)
Of course it's all the store's fault. If they are going to temp me with 1.00, and 2.50 stamp sets, and I'm just weak when it comes to new rubber, what can you expect. Right?
Worked on this card for a swap I'm in. Technique is called Faux Silk. You can find the directions for this at splitcoaststampers. Just love the Always stamp set!
I took hubby out to the Roadhouse last night for dinner. His birthday is Tuesday and since he works second shift we decided to go last night. There was a 20 minute wait when we got there so we put our names on the list and went out for a stroll around the mall before going back. It was a nice way to end the day. I was a bit stressed earlier. I went to visit with mom in the morning and was talking to her nurse. There was a bad strain of flu that went though the home last week, and 5 of the patients died. That was really scary. Mom did pick up some congestion and they had her on breathing treatments but all in all she is doing well.
Well I have to get off the puter now and get my act in gear for work. Hope everyone has a great day!!

Bird Two
I had some stuff left over from yesterday's card so decided to make another one. This one is using Always, and retired French Script background. The image in the lower left corner is called French Quarter from See-D's. Just love the blue and sage colors together.
I did get some housework finished yesterday. Hubby is still working on the taxes, but he did do me a great favor and went to the Library to work on them. He needed a tax book so he figured working on them while he was there was a good idea. I have to agree! Left me with the afternoon filled with some stamping time! I don't often have the house all to myself. I got so much done that I had time to color my hair! Had to get rid of the gray. Aging.....I'm against it! And what the heck is up with chin hair? My mom never told me about that. That's one of those things that just creep up on you.
Hope everyone is enjoying there weekend. I didn't get out to shop yesterday, but I'm on my way out today. I'm going to stop and see mom then hit Pat Catan's. Friend of mine asked if I could pick up some "Bling" brads. So I'll get those for you today Debby!

Bird
Happy Saturday!!! Just gotta love the weekend. Not planning on doing much. Have to finish up some stamping projects. Then do the normal weekend stuff....wash, grocery, cleaning. (YUCK) You know all those things that need to be done, but all the while your doing them your thinking about what you could be doing, and wishing you were anywhere else.
Hubby is working on taxes this weekend....so you know I'd rather be anywhere else but here!!! Maybe I need to work in a little shopping excursion just to get out of the house.
I did manage to stamp something this morning. Both stamp sets are from See-D's. Flourish is stamped on Bordering Blue then embossed with black embossing powder. The image is then gone over with Brocade Blue, and Bordering Blue ink using a stamping sponge.
Don't forget to leave a comment for a chance to win some great Blog Candy!!!

A Few Good Eggs!
I was going though some cards that I made and came across this Easter card. I made the template for the egg and then used background stamps to stamp them. Looking at it gave me a great idea. How about some Cuttlebug eggs? I wanted to make the card base bigger because I felt the eggs on the older card were to close together. So I use a 5 x 5 base card of Apricot Appeal. The eggs are Lavender Lace, Apricot Appeal, and Cameo Coral. Strip under the eggs is Certainly Celery. I got a little ink on the top right corner and needed to cover it up so I took left over cuttlebuged Lavender Lace and punched out using the window punch. That did the trick! To finish it off I added the wide white organdy ribbon. Make sure you click on the photo. You will see the Cuttlebug eggs in detail.
The magazine is out!!! This is the new issue of Crafts n' things. I saw it today on the magazine rack at the local grocery store. Be sure to check out my card on page 99. I know it's silly but I just had to pick up the magazine and look at my card. I also had to resist the urge to buy a copy.
Today I had to sit though a 2 hour class on diversity. One of the things the speaker talked about was managing stress. He asked the group if we had any hobbies. I had to smile at that one. Several people said gardening, one said camping, another one liked to exercise. Now to me all these hobbies added up to just one thing......sweat. My idea of a hobby is sitting at my desk in the throws of cardstock, ink, stamps, and all the embellishments that will fit around me. True BLISS!!! There isn't any sweat involved...unless of course I'm working on a deadline for a submission. But hey cardstock is made of paper and is absorbent. I can always blot the sweat away. LOL
Happy Thursday!!! It will be Friday again soon
Happy Stamping.

Always Again
I really love this stamp set! Cardstock: Tempting Turquoise, Certainly Celery, Cameo Coral, Whisper White, ink: Tempting Turquoise, Taken with Teal, Old Olive, Certainly Celery, Jet Black StazOn.
Accessories: crafter's tool kit, pop dots, sponge, window punch, gold brads.
Stamps: Always, Canvas Background.
So I purchased a ticket at work for tonights Mega Millions lottery. I know I won't win, but if I did.......I could quit my job....buy all the stamping stuff I ever wanted....have time to stamp whenever I wanted to.....buy a new house....that maybe would have a larger stamp room for me.......fly my gal friends out to see me....the list goes on and on. (SMILE) It's nice to have dreams. There were 20 of us that bought tickets. If we won I bet the company would have a cow as 20 of their employees would all quit at the same time.
Okay back to the real life......Still cold in Ohio. We are going to get some more snow and the temps are going into the teens. Again I'm sick of being cold. I think the older I get the more I dislike cold weather.
Happy Wednesday!!!!!!

Monday Sketch Challenge # 5
Having fun with Techno's Monday Challenges!Check out her blog http://technostamper.blogspot.com/
Thanks for the challenges Mary Jo! Just love them!
I made the card just large enough to fit in a business size envelope. Cardstock: Whisper White, Sage Shadow, Ballet Blue, and Lovely Lilac. The scallop strip was made using the slit punch. The white strip was made using the heart Cuttlebug embossing folder. Window punch was used for the words.
I just can't get warm today. It's not that cold, but the room I'm in at work is bringing in to much air from outside so the room is really cold. Then it's cold outside, and when I come home we have the heat setting at 67 so it's cold in the house to. I swear it's a blessing that I haven't gotten sick yet!
Please spring get here soon!!!!!!
Happy Stamping!!!!

Rock n' Roll Puzzle, John Lennon
Here we go Monday morning once again. The weekends just go by to quick. Wish I had today off like my hubby does. The wind is really blowing outside. It's been raining most of the night. I guess that is a lot better than snowing!
We finished the Rock n' Roll puzzle last night. This was a Christmas gift from my friend Lisa. (Thanks again!) Hubby and I have been having fun working on this. Since he works second shift we found little bits of time to work on it during the week. Now that's its finished and glued together I need to start thinking about how I'm going to frame it.
Kudos to Stampin'Up! for having new quotes in there upcoming Spring Mini Catalog. "Life is what happens to you while your busy making other plans" is one of my favorite quotes from John Lennon. This was a song on the Milk and Honey LP. Title is Beautiful Boy. He wrote it for his second son Sean. The John Lennon stamp was another Christmas gift. This stamp can be purchased at Via Los Vega stamps. I also used some more new stuff from the spring mini. Silver Hodge Podge Hardware. Love the new hardware! Lots of different fun sizes, and cool brads!
Well that's all for now. I need to get dressed and get ready for work
Happy Monday, and
Happy Stamping!

Let's Here It For Rub-Ons!
OMG! I'm a loving the Sell-A-Brations Rub-Ons! So fun to work with! You can use these on tin, glass, ribbon, cardstock, wood, candles, photos, and I'm sure there are a few more places to use these that I didn't list.
Some Rub-Ons tips:
Trim the image you wish to use, but leave some excess going around the image.
Use a clean surface if you are using something other than cardstock. Example tin, or wood. Make sure there isn't any dust
Remove the backing and place the image on the surface you want to put it on. Press down. The adhesive on the image will grip the surface
You can use the stick that comes with the Rub-Ons but I like to use the Empresssor Stylus. It just rolls over any surface smoothly.
Make sure to go over all the image. When you are finished gently remove the paper very slowly. If it turns out that you missed a spot you can put the paper back down and go over the image again where you missed.
The stamp set used is Level 3 Time Well Spent. I also used the new background stamp Riot of Petals. Colors Cameo Coral, Ballet Blue, Very Vanilla and So Saffron.
Hope everyone had a good weekend. I'm off to make Chili for dinner. Hubby had to work overtime today and will be home at 5 so I want to have dinner ready for him.
Happy Stamping!

Flowers
I woke up to flowers yesterday morning. Hubby works second shift and stopped to pick me up flowers. I was sleeping when he came home, but found them on the table when I was getting ready for work. Course he also left me chocolate and a card that sings You Are my Everything by Barry White. How romantic.
I made this card sometime ago and submitted it to a magazine. It didn't get published. At least I can post it on my blog now. Stamp set: Roses in Winter, and Floral Background. Cardstock: Elegant Eggplant, Basic Black, and Very Vanilla. The background was stamped then run through a crimper. VersaMark was swiped across the ridges then I added gold embossing powder. If you click on the smaller view of the card you will be able to see the crimping done on the background
TGIF!!!!

Happy Valentine's Day
Hope your sweetie remembered you today!
I was feeling like I really needed a shot of Spring weather. So what better way to get that but to stamp up some flowers. Stamp set is Level 3 Hostess Time Well Spent. I used a new Cuttlebug embossing folder for the background. First I took the brayer and inked it up with Twist spectrum ink (retired), then rolled the inked brayer on the inside of the Cuttlebug folder, inserted Shimmery White cardstock in the folder then ran it through the Cuttlebug. The color of the flowers really just made me feel happy! What a lift for my Winter Blues!
What a mess driving home yesterday. We had a snow storm that turned into rain, then it froze. So it was really fun driving home in slush. Roads were very slippery. I'll be happy when the weather warms up just a bit.
Happy Stamping!
Unwanted Comments
Sorry readers, just wanted to let you know I had to turn on posting comments moderator. I have been getting spam comments on my posts, yesterday I even had a porn site leave there link in the comments. So I really don't want that! How dare they do that to this blog or any other blog for that matter. I've seen other blogger friends have the same problem. So again I'm sorry if this causes any inconvenience to my readers, but I will need to start viewing comments before they post to this site.
Thanks for your understanding in this matter.

Always
Always is one of my new stamp sets. Just love it! Soon as I saw it in the Spring/Summer catalog I just knew I had to have it. You know how some of the stamp sets just seem to call your name? I wish more sets didn't call my name.....maybe then I would have more money in my bank account.
The layout is from Techno Stamper http://technostamper.blogspot.com/
Just had to take the challenge. Cardstock: Brocade Blue, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, and Very Vanilla. Happy I got to use the new Old Olive Twill tape so soon. It just arrived in my second box of my large order yesterday. Love it! It's very easy to tie.
Till tomorrow

Oink, Oink Valentine!
My friends stamp much better than I do! I think they need to make there own blogs so they can share! Thanks for the great Valentine card Connie!
She also made me an obscure holiday card. This one is for Chocolate Mint day. Just love these colors together.
I didn't have time to stamp this evening. I'm bushed!!!! We had a winter storm come in last night, so I needed to get up early in case the roads were bad. They were not bad, but the cold was really harsh. Minus 20 below wind chill factor. Say it with me......BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
I'll be glad when spring rolls around. Hubby had off today because the public schools were closed. He took me out to dinner when I got home from work. That was really sweet of him. We may have school closing tomorrow also. They are calling for more snow. Between 4 to 8 inches worth. Now if hubby has off tomorrow I'm going to get him up early so he can clean and warm up the car. Then he can take me to work and pick me up. Aren't I just rotten!!!!!
Happy stamping!

10 Stamps Sets!
I just got finished putting 10 new stamp sets together. Yay! I'll have a few more tomorrow. My order was split between two boxes and the second one will arrive tomorrow. Thank Goodness that the SAB sets, and Spring Mini sets are pre-cut for us. I wish the entire catalog stamps were like that. What a breeze that would be to mount them all!
Had a very busy day yesterday. We went to the home and garden show. It was fun but lots of walking. Didn't help that I twisted my ankle on Friday. I wasn't that bad, but when I stopped walking yesterday and sat down for a bit, when I got back up I had shooting pains in it. Still pretty sore today. I'm trying to stay off it. After the show we went to visit my mom. She was doing pretty well. I brought her a potted plant from the show.
They had trains sets up at the show. This one looks like lady bugs. I thought it was too cute!
They also had other trains.
And the statues where just beautiful
Well that is all for today. I'm going to see if I can stamp some more today. Brrr.....it's cold outside. 12 degrees, it's snowing and the wind is kicking up.
Happy Stamping!

New Cuttle Bug Folders
Morning! Thanks goodness it is Friday at last!!!! I had a very happy mail day! Kat sent me the new Cuttle Bug Embossing Folders. YAY! Thanks Kat!
I also got part of my SU order. I have so many stamp sets to put together this weekend. I think I'll take some of them up to the nursing home and cut them out while I'm visiting mom.
Starting to feel like my old self again. Which is a good thing. Hope everyone's weekend gets off to a great start!

Been a Year
It's been one year since my brother left me. Still miss him very much. Seems like he has been on my mind a lot this past week. I've been weepy all day. And through the tears I got a sign. At least that is how I'm looking at it. I've been submitting my artwork to magazines in the hopes of getting published, and today of all days I received a magazine in the mail from Crafts n' things. They published one of my cards. The odd thing about it was that the card has a word stamp on it "Delight in Life" I think my big brother is still watching out for me, and he's telling me to be happy and that he is fine where he is now.
If you'd like to see the card it is in April edition of Crafts n' things on page 99.
I did get to stamp today. There is a tutorial on Splitcoast with the technique Faux Silk. I just had to try it out. Stamp set used Touch of Nature. If you'd like to try this fun and very simple technique go to

Haven't Forgot About My Readers
Just wanted to say I didn't forget about you.....I've been so tired from the training I started this week. I'm the Seasonal Staff Trainer at my job, and the first group came this week. I've been to tired to do much of anything when I get home. For the past three days I've been getting something to eat and then falling asleep on the couch. I know very bad!!!!! Hopefully tomorrow I'll force myself to stay away long enough to stamp something.
On a good note one box of my large SU order will be here on Friday. I know that will keep me awake! The thought of new Rubber to play with. How exciting!!!! I was a bit bummed cause the order shipped in two boxes and the second one won't be here till Monday. Oh well.....still lots to play with on Friday.
Happy Stamping!

Bella
I bought a bunch of new Bella stamps, and they were still in the packages! Shame on me for not using them right away. Just love this one with the big umbrella and boots. The flowers are also a new item. Thanks Kat! She got me lots of cool flowers to work with for Christmas. It's always fun to pull out new supplies to work with.
After having three days off work it was very hard to get up this morning and go to work. At least the weather was warmer. This is the first time that I didn't have to scrape ice off the wind shield. It's suppose to get up into the 60's tomorrow. So take that groundhog!!!!
Tomorrow is FAT TUESDAY!!! So plan on eating well, if you will be giving something up before Easter. I'm giving up chocolate. Not that I eat that much now, but I do enjoy my dark chocolate.
Happy Monday!

Mom's Birthday/Obscure Holiday Cards/Valentine Card
Thanks Lisa for the great cards! The eagle card is for Freedom Day, the other one is Send a Card to a Friend day, and the cute little monkeys are for Valentine's Day.
I went to see mom this morning. She was in good spirits. She did however forget it was her birthday till I told her and gave her the cupcakes I made yesterday. I made breakfast for her and brought it to the home so we could eat together. However.....I couldn't stop her from eating a cupcake before she ate her breakfast. With mom being in the home I have really got a close look at what aging is all about. Forget the red hats and wearing what you want....it's all about the chocolate! I just let her eat what she likes. I figure at this stage of the game she should be able to take her enjoyment how she likes. Mom turned 76 today. She was the mom to 3 children, and a sister to 7 other siblings. Most of the siblings are gone now. She was born and raised in Ceder Bluff VA, graduated from the 11th grade....which was the highest grade at the time, worked as a book keeper at a local Dairy, got married, and had her first child my sister Charolette there. Times were hard and Dad left for OH and got a job at the steel factory. They moved to Cleveland in 1955 and raised the rest of there family in Cleveland. Mom always worked. Her last job was at Bowman Products on the east side of Cleveland. She worked there for 30 years before retiring as a manager. She hated to cook. She always said her next house would not have a kitchen. She did love to piece quilts, but didn't like to quilt them. Hence I have about 30 some odd quilt tops that she gave me that need to be quilted. Oh she was Elvis's biggest fan! My grand daddy (my father's dad) gave her a pig and she named it Elvis. Never will forget when we went down to the farm and they had him slaughtered. I was 10 and it was very upsetting to me. I loved that pig!
For someone who didn't like to cook she did love to work in the garden, and can the harvest.
So Mom a very Happy Birthday to you today!!!!!

Barbie Valentine
Well today is a lot less hectic than yesterday. I slept in! WOW how often does that happen? Like never. I slept in till 9. Got up got some breakfast, walked two miles, went to the grocery store and picked up junk food for hubby and son so they can pig out tomorrow during the Super Bowl. I still have to make mom cupcakes. Tomorrow is her 76 birthday.
I did manage to finished up the stamp room. So it's nice clean, and very well organized. I even got to stamp! Today's card was made using Barbie stamps. I decided since Barbie boxes are mostly pink to stay within this color range. The technique is call Tone on Tone. You just work with the same colors of various hues. You can add a neutral color with the technique. The heart pocket has been all the rage lately. I'm seeing them everywhere. I thought it needed something so I added a bit of hand crochet lace that I found (while cleaning)yesterday.
So.......that old ground hog saw his shadow today. Which means 6 more weeks of winter. I got news for him........It's February and I'm in Ohio......of course there are going to be 6 more weeks of winter. There always is. It really doesn't start to warm up till the end of April.
Happy Stamping!

New Storage
Have you ever started out with something but in the course of doing that you felt like a small snowball rolling down a big hill and you just kept getting larger and faster as you continued down the hill? Well that was me today. I took the day off from work. My intentions were to put in my very large Stampin'Up! order, and then spend the rest of the day in stamping bliss. Well I did get the order in. Large one! I've been waiting for Sale-A-Brations to hit so I could order, so I haven't ordered anything from the new catalog till today. So.......325.00 later. But that's another story I'll get pics when all the stuff gets here! Hubby had a snow day so he didn't have to work. We decided to go out for lunch then do some shopping. Hit Max & Erma's for lunch then went to Archivers. Hey I had coupons so I had to use them right? RIGHT?
The system is called Clip It Up. You can get a better view of this wonderful space saver at www.clipitup.com
I have been eying this little beauty in stamping magazines but I hadn't seen it in any stores till today. So......76.59 later....I bought the base, the upper tier, and an extra pack of hooks. It's great!!! Cleared out several of my larger drawers so now I have more needed space for my cardstock. Did I tell you that I ordered 13 packs of cardstock with the free stuff from this mornings order? Well I did. Now lets get back to that snowball......
I brought the system home and thought I had the perfect place for it. But in order to get it to that perfect place I needed move some things. Well....lots of things. Watch out Ebay cause I have lots of stuff to put on this weekend. I decided I didn't need my rolling cart with all the pockets that I got from JoAnn's some years ago. I'm not doing workshops anymore so it was really taking up space. My complete set of Portfolio II from SU is going, 6 leftover white mailboxes from Target (last year's Valentine 1.00 bin hot find), 2 SU bags from conventions past, and assorted other items. And that snowball just kept getting bigger...I needed to move my Cricut, and cartridges, so I needed some more 12x12 boxes for those. So off I go to Pat Catan's at 7:30 pm in the middle of a snow storm to get them. Okay you can stop laughing now cause I just know you are! Whew!!! I'm really waiting for Spring to get here cause that snowball is pretty darn big and I need it to just melt!
Good news is the system is great! My stamping room is almost back to order except for the desk, but I should be able to get it all finished this evening so I can just get back to what I really intended on doing today. STAMPING! And on the really good side.....Hubby is working overtime Saturday and Sunday so I'll have time just to myself. YAY.
Hope everyone has a great weekend
Happy Stamping!
